In other news, the Rey movie is officially still going ahead after rumours of indefinite delays. And Rachel Zegler is eyeing a role in the Star Wars universe. It’s amazing how quickly it went from “Hey everyone, we’re making another SW movie starring Rey!” to “Everyone’s mad we’re making another Rey movie, but we’re doing it anyway!” to “We got an obnoxious activist director and y’all are just istophobes!” to “Yeah, the Rey movie is delayed indefinitely…” What’s it been? A few months? If they keep accelerating at this rate they're going to be announcing movies and cancelling them on the same day.

As someone who’s been a fan of She-Hulk for decades, the apparent cancelation of the She-Hulk series is the best thing I’ve heard all year so far. No more faux She-Hulk written by writers who aren’t even fit to lick John Byrne’s boots, who’s an actual professional writer who actually knows how to write a funny and entertaining She-Hulk.

The destruction of the Enterprise in Search for Spock is one of the defining moments in cinema; it's so shocking, so totally unexpected, that at the time I genuinely thought Kirk had a trick up his sleeve to keep it from happening. The reaction of the audience in the cinema where I saw it (when it first came out) was total stunned silence. And Kirk himself gets the only line that can do the moment justice: "My God, Bones, what have I done?" End of an era.
You guys didn't talk about the sequel we all know in our hearts we want to see: Star Wars Holiday Special Part 2.

Looking at all the announced Star Wars projects that have probably been abandoned I can't help but think about the old British political concept of Masterly Inactivity.
The general idea is when you announce something and it's immediately hit with immense negativity you proceed to say nothing about it. You give no updates, when people ask you about the subject you give the most nothing or reflective response possible and you generally pretend that whatever was met with negativity doesn't exist until people have completely and utterly forgotten about it.
Then in a few years, or however long it takes for people to completely forget about your subject, you come out with the most under the radar press release possible to say that the thing that was met with a negative response isn't going forward. Because everyone has forgotten about the subject at this point, most people won't hear this statement , and the rest will respond with indifference.
This way you avoid having to do the thing that everyone would've hated, and you also avoid the negative press you would receive from cancelling it immediately.
I 100% believe that this is the exact strategy that Disney is currently using. Just watch.
45:40 - I think the reason that some believe that things need to be "dumbed down" is that we have sooo many choices now as to what to watch and the FOMO factor.It's getting pretty difficult to decide on which shows to dedicate our time to, so studios and creators need to come up with quick hits in order to capture our attention without having us actually think about what we're watching. IF, the Rey movie is made she'll have twins, one boy and one girl.
The girl will be awesome at everything and the boy will struggle mightily at everything.
He will be bitter and hate his angelic sister and go to the dark side of toxic masculinity and fight and fail against the good force, which is female.
Even worse, Rey's boy will run around thruout the whole movie telling everybody that he actually wants to be a stronk trans-waman and in the next movie he/she/whatever will become a full blown Sith tranny and demands to be called Darth Xir. He then will go and destroy whole planets because someone from said planets has mis-pronouned him/her/whatever.
So stunning, so brave and everybody at Di$ney clapped.

What is it about Wonka that makes people think "I wanna see his backstory"?! He's a being who has been self-exiled with no human contact, for decades, in an enormous closed factory in the middle of a city. He is a global living legend, whose products have drawn the attention of the world's rich and powerful, yet even they cannot (or are afraid to) breach his closed factory. He presides over numerous ruptures in the fabric of reality including interdimensional portals, spontaneous generation of matter, gravity manipulation, and several other powerful magics. He is caretaker of an alien species he calls "oompa loompas" (though it is unclear if that is actually their name, or simply a phrase that bookends their songs), and whose culture and motives remain almost entirely unknown, except for their apparent casual disregard for human life.
Whatever backstory they provide is guaranteed to be a disappointment. I always assumed he was a demigod or some other ethereal being who had chosen to do this for his own amusement.

I have to admit: making your fans the literal villains in your TV show is something I hadn't seen before She-Hulk. Ironically, fans would actually really like a GOOD She-Hulk show, not a hateful one.
Michael Arndt doesn't get the blame he deserves for setting up the Sequel Trilogy. People forget that Kasdan and Abrams were last minute writing replacements because Arndt failed to produce a complete script in time. It was Arndt who pushed Luke to the end of the movie because Rey kept being overshadowed by him when he showed up. Kasdan and Abrams had to work with that framework to get the movie made on time. Abrams was only supposed to direct the film, not write it, and Kasdan (who also doesn't get enough blame) was pulled off writing the Solo movie to work with Abrams on the script.
One of my favorite moments in The Empire Strikes Back is with Boba Fett when Luke is creeping about you see a very slight movement where Boba Fett knows he's there and as soon as Luke sticks his head up he damn near gets his head blown off.
Boba Fett was so underutilized in that trilogy.

Club Sheva with the clothes bands just off her back that cast arguable shadows made me ultra critical of most other games clothing systems for decades afterwards.
I’ll never forget watching Revenge Of The Sith back in mid 2000s and 2010s after elementary school or watching Ewoks Battle For Endor at my grandparents house when I was little. Modern Disney has completely ruined the magic of Star Wars that George Lucas created.
First game I ever 100%’d was Kirby & The Amazing Mirror, and it did have a percent for each of your save files. I got 100% in all 3, lol. Unlocking the black Kirby (“carbon” paint) in Candy Constellation was always my favorite, he looked so cool against the vivid colors of the background. Stellar music for each of the realms. I can play Cabbage Cavern on electric guitar, sounds dope as hell.

We were able to empathize and connect to his story , because he was written so excellently. This is just a lazy excuse, because writing has gotten so much worse over the last 20 years.

They are incredible and tell better stories in a few minutes than the recent Star Wars garbage shows and movies can do hours. I've said it before and I'll say it again, The Mandalorian, they could have done it sort of like the old western tv-series Kung Fu, with David Carradine. It was an American action-adventure martial arts Western drama television series. The series follows the adventures of Kwai Chang Caine, a Shaolin monk who travels through the American Old West, armed only with his spiritual training and his skill in martial arts, as he seeks Danny Caine, his half-brother.

Speaking on what the show runner for the sapronos said about studios wanting TV show makers to dumb down their shows it is absolutely asinine when you sit and think about it. One of the most successful and loved shows in recent memory was Better Call Saul. It is so hard to capture or even beat Breaking Bad yet the writers and actors were able to easily do it and not only did they do it, they created another staple in the culture and if anyone has seen better call Saul you know it is not a “turn your brain off” type of show. It requires you to notice every little detail, every piece of dialogue, and literally has multiple legal court scenes that even requires the viewer to do research on the side to get a full understanding and yet it was wildly successful.
It was not successful merely because of breaking bad. It was successful because the characters were well written, scenes were powerful, the music was awesome and IT TREATED THE AUDIENCE WITH RESPECT. It is that simple. I cannot believe studios are this confused about how to make good TV.
In what alternate universe did Mauler see a trailer for "Into Darkness" and hear them "make a big deal" about Khan? They famously lied to cover up him being Khan, so it couldn't have been a trailer from before the film came out.

Rey movie is an interesting one. It seems like the rumours from last year that Kathleen was no longer in control of lucasfilm are semi true. They can't fire her, but they can take away her control. So there seems to be a civil war in lucasfilm where Kathleen is announcing shit and Disney (Iger) are refusing to fund her projects. Countering her every announcement with one of her own(Mando and Grogu). The next year is going to be very interesting.

I have a friend that says he literally audible gasped at loki season 2 - and in a good way. I honestly always thought he was a fairly intelligent person, now I'm questioning it.
I saw no evidence that JJ Abrahms had ever seen a single episode of Star Trek. He did not do Star Trek, he did some weird new thing that was aimed at small children that are lead paint chip connoisseurs (like most of his movies). He should be taken to the Hague and charged with crimes against humanity.

No more She-Hulk? Oh well, nothing of value has been lost. Now if only the rumors about the Rey movie getting canceled were true... But I think that will be Kathleen Kennedy's one last kick in the balls to the fans and George Lucas. So, that movie is still happening even if they might have put the brakes on it for a bit after the massive negative reaction to the director's comments.

He’s not supposed to be a super deep character, he’s just supposed to be a mysterious badass. 42:47 I think they’re blinded by nostalgia here. There’s not really a difference between Vader and Din Djarin when it comes to the audience’s emotional connection to these characters. I also feel like the first two seasons of The Mandalorian perfectly recaptured what made the original trilogy great.

Most of the posted comments are centered around one of two topics:how great old school movies from back in the day are,or how much entertainment sucks today in comparison to past endeavors.
On this subject I recall a maxim from one of my favorite books:Hagakure,the book of the Samurai,that when speaking with someone who's endured defeat or tragedy instead of offering the usual sympathetic platitudes it is better to say,"Perhaps this occurrence is a good thing,as
the situation may end up in your favor." I prefer that to wallowing in my own misery,because they're ruining beloved franchises,but there will eventually come a point where NOBODY cares about their next DEI project/push,and they find themselves irrelevant and powerless. The independent creators;on the other hand,are on the rise,as more and more people who are sick of these companies selling out quality products for ESG money clamor for new entertainment that doesn't focus on "THE MESSAGE",or throwing straight white male characters into the trash for "muh diversity." As Master Sun so succinctly put it in The Art of War,"Strike when you are empty,and your enemy is full."
It's about time that someone quoted The Art of War in this unnecessary Cultural War in the West. It's obvious nobody from the left is reading it because it seems to me that they are just "Go straight at 'em" Oppa Gangnam Style...
