One of the things I was surprised to learn from a friend who is an attorney is the "privileged conversation." He told me that he's aware of several murders that he can't reveal to anyone because clients had told him about things that the police didn't know about. And that's something that most people wouldn't know: if you tell your attorney something then it's privileged. The prosecution, nor anyone else, can't make your attorney reveal the information unless it's in furtherance of another crime, as is what happened to Michael Cohen. In other words, if you tell your lawyer that you robbed a bank years earlier and were never caught then your attorney can't reveal that information to the prosecutor. Your lawyer has to take that secret to the grave. However, if you're being prosecuted for robbing a bank it's better not to tell your attorney "oh yeah, I totally robbed that bank," because if you do then she can't say that it wasn't you because now she's knows that's not true. Also, your lawyer can't conspire with you to commit a crime because then the privilege doesn't apply. And yes, lawyers do get asked to aid in crimes occasionally. Usually financial crimes.
This is great information for the public! Thanks for sharing it with us!

That's the difference between a *criminal defense lawyer* and a *defense lawyer criminal." 😄 People don't understand so many concepts of law, which is obvious when you read YT comments about litigation that has a wide public interest such that it is tried in the media thousands of times.
There's one 5-digit-subscriber channel I was recommended that does frequent posts and vapid takes. I continue to monitor it, because anyone who looks through his portfolio of videos should know that "legal commentator" was plan F or G, not plan A, and he doesn't understand how anything really works but can make up the BS that appeals to his viewers, whom never bother to check a single fact.
It's pretty nice to actually see a comment where someone understands that attorney-client privilege exists unless your attorney is involved in the crime knowingly or acts to cover it up through unlawful means.
