    Ive read many comments even though this is an old.post i wanted to say that i have severe palpitations, fatigue, nausea and more when i take B12 (methylcobalamin) its due to B12 depleting potassium which many dont realize can happen. Also, my B1 was getting low which causes potassium wasting already. Vitamin D also depletes potassium. I had my thyroid removed last Sept so im learning things i never knew before. Scary to realize that many doctors dont have this info either. Theyll just say "thats weird, i have nonidea." Lol Good luck everyone.

    I have had b12 deficiency for the last year the first 2 times they put me on ferrous sulphate and that seemed to work but this time they decided on the injections my level was 104 I have had 6 shots. The first 2 I felt great could see a difference then after that I feel exhausted again. Its really effecting my mood and my lifestyle I feel so down because I feel I don't have much of a life with the exhaustion and horrible low mood and feeling irritable. The injections are just not working. Im so exhausted. I'm going to request a full blood count to see what my thyroid and vitamin d levels are like because I have had issues with my vitamin d in the past and also have been borderline thyroid last year aswell which sorted its self out but maybe its full blown now.😩 sorry for the big paragraph.

    Thank you for this video. I’ve had two vitamin B12 injections recently and ended up feeling extremely fatigued for almost 24 hours afterwards, had a headache, very mild nausea, and mild dizziness. My doctor used the methycobalamin B12 and gave me 2.5mL each time. My blood work shows my B12 is mid range. I have two heterozygous MTHFR mutations and I’m wondering if this could be the cause of the side effects. I know they headaches, dizziness, and nausea are listed as side effects but I can’t find anything stating that fatigue is a side effect of B12 injections. I had a B12 injection about 4 years ago and had the same side effects then.

I learn from ur video that neurological symptoms take time and I am willing to give it that time. The prob is she is having lot of mood swings / meltdowns that makes it difficult to stick to it . A couple clarifying question, do her genetic tests show she cannot tolerate methylb12? I am not aware of any SNP's (genetic alterations) that would show this (or methylfolate intolerance). Do the injections seem to be causing the mood swings or are you using this injections to help the mood? Sounds like the former but just want to be sure.

    • @L3monzLuLu
      @L3monzLuLu Před 11 měsíci

      It will definitely be the folinic acid causing the mood swings. I have mthfr gene mutations and I do not methylate any type of folate supplement, including methylated types. Just take the b12 by itself because it helps the body absorb b9 from food sources as b12 and b9 work together.

This happened two years ago on the fifth injection they gave me and stopped the last injection then they gave me just one injection last year in this time they have never rechecked my levels and never told me what my levels are. I’ve been back to the doctors and they just said you should feel well and no explanation just that I will feel better on the next injection in May. It just seems to me that most doctors think that one size fits all. I asked if I could have the adenocobalamin shots instead but was just told that’s not on our list should I insist that they check my levels before I agree to the next shot.

    Is there any reason why the energy and mood improvements of b12 injections seem to only last 1-3 weeks and then go away despite continuing injections? If I stop daily injections for like 2 years and try again then I get the same initial energy and mood improvements temporarily but of course vanish after 1-3 weeks. It’s like building up a tolerance. I’ve tried even really high doses like 50000mcg per day (methylcobalamin subcutaneous injections).

    • @swintegrative
      @swintegrative  Před rokem +2

      I think that just means you are no longer deficient. You get the boost in energy and mood bc the levels are low and things are, suddenly, working better in the presence of more B12. When it’s already normal there is nothing for the b12 to improve.

      Hi Jane, not noticing any improvement in energy is a bit unusual . If everything was perfectly fine and you only had b12 deficiency then it would be but we don't know this. The fact that you do not have more energy suggests there is another problem. There are many possibilities but I would be curious about iron and digestion. Do you ever get energy form the b12 sot even for like 1-2 days? Also the serum b12 test is not the best and you have to be off all b vitamins when you test for a few days at least, methyl malonic acid is better test.

Then came joint paints,back pains,muscle pains,really bad insomnia,weird smooth white coating on the tongue,memory problems, vision problems stabs pains in hand, cold hands and feet,weight loss and my nails turned very pale and white. Then came fatigue. I did lab test on october and I wasn’t anemic. I started this week with 2 shots and felt improvement but neurological symptoms still didn’t improve and I’m afraid I’ll have irreversible damage(I’m 26 years old🙁). Hi El 10, I think it is important to not assume all of these symptoms are from B12 deficiency. While they could be from this, there are plenty of people that are vegan for longer and don't have such severe health problems/symptoms. Since you are early on in the treatment you won't know until you continue w treatment for several more weeks or months. To your question, I think it would not do any harm for the first couple weeks but after this I don't think it will add much benefit either. If you do this you would want to ensure they are spread out evenly so as to get the most benefit.

I did so many tests besides the complete blood test-for STIs, H. pylori, zinc, vitamin D, stool tests for parasites, tongue cultures for candida- everything came back normal/negative except low iron and low B12. So its reasonable that everything is related to this. what seems odd to me is that I’ve been taking methylcobalamine sublingually for a month and it didn’t improve anything. My Dr told me I need higher dosage and that only about 1-2% of the pill is getting absorbed. Ok, I’ll make sure that the shots are spread out evenly. I really hope symptoms will clear out soon but anyway I’ll stick to the therapy.

    Before starting treatment for b12, my hb was 12.4 , after 2 months when I checked, it is now 11.but my symptoms are better after weekly injections. Still fatigue is there.

      Folate is B6. No it masks the symptoms and it effects your ability to absorb due to stopping the intrinsic factor enzyme which is needed to protect the B12 through your stomach acids. Enriched flour did the world in on this. And it was all part of the plan.

      Yes, methylfolate is readily absorbed by the body. Folic acid is not natural. If you have mthfr start off on folate in very small amounts. I had to break tablets in pieces and gradually move it up each week. A telltale sign youre overmethylating is the overwhelming feeling of irritation and sometimes rage. Back off, listen to your body and try again in a couple weeks with a much lower dose.

    I have a host of symptoms, dizziness has calmed down with the tablets but I'm just so fatigued all day even with a healthy diet and daily walks.
    EDIT - also I did have a methylcobamin injection once in the arm a long time ago but the burning when the fluid went in I thought my arm was going to drop off and the pain didn't go away for a hour.

      Sam I think this would be the first thing to figure out as well as wether or not there was anything other than B12 in the shot. If you are getting these symptoms from pure methylcobalmin I would suspect issues with detoxification and methylation. Sounds like you may be sensitive to methyl-donors too. I would have to do some labs to get a deeper understanding. I know that is not too specific but this is not a common symptom for B12. It should give some direction to do in at least.

      That very well could be and the B12 is just making it worse. However there are some instance where B12 would make this situation better but it really does depend on what all was in the injection. Check out this article I wrote on Benzodiazepine (class of drug for clonazepam). It may help. www.swintegrativemedicine.com/blog/bid/150441/the-dangers-of-xanax-and-other-benzodiazepines.

    • @swintegrative
      @swintegrative  Před rokem

      @@andreasrossier5244 it really depends on the goal. If your levels are really low, you may need more than 4 shots and you may need to continue doing it for life bc you don't absorb from food. Some maybe just take it bc they feel better but levels look ok in blood. In this case they may do one shot and 3 mo later do another one. It's not black and white. I guess it may be worth doing a separate video on it bc there are all kinds of things that influence the decision on how many shots to do. I think what you are asking is if you are low how many shots you need. In that case, you probably need 4 shots minimum if you are not taking anything by mouth.
