Its not possible to overdose on B12. Physically - not possible. So many General Practitioners really know a lot less than the general population whom are self educated - about issues such as vitamin B12 deficiency.

My GP dismisses my symptoms and tells me I will recover. My right hand turned very dark and after 4 months it still remains the same, my GP tells me it's sun burn even after telling him that I don't sit in the sun. His explanation was that one can get sun burn whilst inside the house. I rest my case. I have dizzy spells, tingling in my hands and legs, pimples in my mouth, tiredness etcetra. I have given up with doctors and at my wits end.

Listen to your gut. If you suspect PA, keep reading and researching. Ordering your own labs and supplies for treatment is possible.
I am of Swedish decent. PA runs in my family. I went many years without treatment. I am one year into treating myself, every other day and am just starting to recover some cognitive function (late 50's). My Mom was treated with "tablets" and she died a very painful death. We did not know at the time. B12 deficiency is a slow killer.
Please push forward with testing if you suspect deficiency.

I have X2 lots of 6 EOD injections and then she agreed to EOD injections for 6 weeks and I felt normal again. The locum left and my GP didn’t get back to me when I made contact. I now order my own injections and self inject at home.

If you dare to question a gp, healthcare worker in NHS, or have the audacity to research, then confront or query....Trust me, you'll suffer the consequences and not get what you need. This is what I did and I basically now just speak with my local pain clinic and the consultant Pharmacist attached to my crap gp practice.

Hello Everyone. Thanks to Jimmy, Charlotte & the Team @ Slater & Gordon for shedding light on this deficiency.
I am all the way in Africa and have been to two GP’s with a b12 level of 203 pmol/L. They say 133-674 pmol/L is normal range, but I feel horrendous, daily. I have been on 1mg of Cyanocobalamin since mid January this year. The effects wear off in a short period and I am back to feeling terrible by 10am, lol. Please share with me what are acceptable normal ranges in your respective countries? Thanx in advance.

I have the extreme fatigue and brain fog.
I am wondering though is muscle mass and loss of strength one of the symptoms?
My arms and body just feels extremely tired and heavy after even a small physical exertion and muscle contractions or use of strength.
I also wake up feeling NO energy as well.
I can't say I had all the same symptoms but depression, anxiety the pins and needles thing.
The worst however, was an initially large weight loss ( mainly muscle ) with loss of strength obviously and very heavy exausted arms and upper body with little to no physical exertion at all sometimes.
This has been going on for 3 plus months with doctors saying all your bloodwork is normal... but none have tested or even mention vitamin D or B12 or even magnesium at all much less testing them.
I am starting to go a bit nutty here... as my job and my family are at stake.
If you have any insight I appreciate anything at all.

I've just had to change doctors because my several of them at my last surgery refused to believe I have a b12 issue. My serum level was normal but I have textbook symptoms (crushing fatigue, nausea, dizziness, palpitations, random pains, headaches, vision problems, ridged fingernails, muscle twitches and pins and needles in my hands and feet) so I paid for an active b12 test and it came back very low. I sent them this and said i need injections and they wouldn't even call me back, just text saying it's not a deficiency and my serum is normal. I immediately went and registered with another doctor who has put me on injections every other day for 2 weeks with a follow up at the month. I've probably just fell lucky finding a good gp but I can confirm a lot of them have no idea about this and will just fob you off which is horrific when you have symptoms like this.

They wonder why we are going to youtube for our health advice, we have to get help somewhere. Sue them if you can, they need to know this is unacceptable.
