How to Use B12 Shots for Weight Loss (BENEFITS + HOW MUCH You Need)

  • This video walks you through the exact way to use B12 shots for weight loss including the benefits and how much you should be using.
If you know me then you know that I'm a huge fan of Vitamin B12 shots. They are probably my preferred way to get B12 into the body. I've used B12 shots to help people lose weight hundreds of times (perhaps thousands of times) and I want to share some of that experience with you.
Why do I love B12 shots? Because they get into the body VERY quickly and because I think they work better than other forms of B12 including b12 supplements/capsules/liquid. This is just my experience, though, so your mileage may vary.
But before we talk about B12 shots for weight loss, I want to be very clear. B12 shots are not a weight loss supplement like the way you are probably thinking they are. While they can be helpful in a weight loss regimen, they should never be used by themselves. If you think you are going to give yourself some shots and then magically lose weight you've got another thing coming.
If you instead use B12 shots with healthy eating, regular exercise, hormone balance, getting enough sleep, and stress reduction techniques, you are going to have a good time!
With that in mind, let's talk about the benefits of B12 shots:
#1. Increased energy and decreased fatigue.
    #2. Increased metabolism.
#3. Improved sleep quality and depth of sleep.
    #4. Decreased depression.
In order to get these benefits you MUST use B12 shots correctly. That means you need to get the right dose. The dose that I frequently recommend is 5,000mcg of B12 every 7 days or once per week.
What you will find is that many weight loss clinics will offer B12 shots but they will only provide 1,000mcg of B12 and give it every 7 days. This is only 1/5 of the dose that I like to use.
Secondly, you have to make sure you are using the right type of B12. The type of B12 that I prefer is methylcobalamin. You have to be careful, though, because many places will use cyanocobalamin instead. Methylcobalamin is pre-activated and pre-methylated so it's easier for your body to use.
Lastly, I frequently recommend going with a subcutaneous injection rather than an intramuscular injection. Subq injections can be done with an insulin syringe and are less invasive than IM injections.

So glad I found this video.
You brought up some very valid points.
Not going to a weight loss clinic but doing HRT and a number of injections seem to be included/ recommended.
I was very apprehensive and felt bombarded. You want to trust your doctors, but...I just don't and needed to think through the decision.
I know I don't methylate properly, which is one reason I'm struggling to begin with. Now I know to bring up better options for me in the form of methylated B-12.
The point is to feel good and heal, not have a temporary boost that hurts you in the long run.

Forgot to say I got the pure Zn wire for collidal Zn and Cu off Amazon.
    Made them at home myself.
    So can't specify PPM.
    Not that it matters right,
    2 parts Zn
    3 parts Cu
And I left the seeds and skin in/on the pumpkin /sweet potatoes.
Instant improvement in like less than a minute for the colloids and minutes for the pumpkin/S.potatoes
I had hyper on the left and hypo on the right and a goitre, couldn't swallow saliva without intense discomfort.
After I went and got snacks from the shop the results were so good I got a pizza after.
It'll work big time, have Thaimine as well.
    Great vid

Hi Dr. Childs I have all normal thyriod blood labs but do have a nogel on my thyriod gland. I have high cortisol and PCOS but have ALL symptoms of hypothyriodism can't loose weight in 25 years keep gaining weight no matter the diet. What is the problem that have a nogel but have ALL normal blood test labs? I'm refused any kind of thyriod treatment. So I'm at a loss I have insulin resistance and on Vigtosa and metformin and a hormone medication for the PCOS but still struggle. I'm at a complete loss. Because I am sick to death of dieting I've dieties nonstop for 25 years took weight loss meds when I can afford them with little to know success. I have arthritis fiddling my joints since I was a teen which makes it even harder getting around bring overweight.

I've been diagnosed with Hashimoto and at the same time a serious pernicious anemia - low hemoglobin, erythrocytes to the point I had to be hospitalized and given blood transfusions and later given vitamin b12 shots 5x1000 mcg in course of 10 days. My resting pulse went from 85 to 55-60, (160 when walking to 110-120). I went from no appetite to very hungry. It helped with my depression but I am still quite inactive when it comes to exercising. So I guess it's not super-remedy for everyone.

I have experienced some benefit from cyanocobalamin injections but had to take it multiple times per week. Later found out I'm compound heterozygous MTHFR. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Funnily enough, my Drs never actually checked my B12, they just presumed I was low based on other labs. Most recent labs for B12 without any supplements was over 1700. Weird.

Hi i been deficient in b12 obviously for years without knowing and stopped smoking 5 years ago so i put o a good bit of weight. Ive started loading injections of b12 over 2 weeks and instantly it gave me so much energy and took away pins and needles i had been experiencing. My doctor tried me on tablet form and it made no difference, in 3 weeks ive lost 8lb without even trying the only difference is my energy levels are what they should be and i actually dont feel the need to snack of eat alot but im still having my usual meals a day and have wine at weekends like i normally do. Obviously been deficient has took its toll on me over past few year with no energy what so ever which i hated but thought it was because my diet which isn't that bad But could be better. So now im going to start eating healthier as well as getting my vitamin b12 injection because ive to get them for rest of my life so its just been the missing link for me😁✨💖

Check your vitamin D. We often give B12 injections and D injections, because most of our pts are extremely deficient in both. Most people are D deficient these days, due to working long hours and not being in the sun, or getting nutrients through diet. Vitamin D injections are every 60 days. So, not as often as B12. Both will help with weightloss and energy. Plus, I have lupus, and I don't get sick, EVER, since taking both injections.

I just started talking shots that are B12+Lipotropics. Is one shot a week likely to help cause noticable differences, or would that be to few to really do anything. Would two shots a week be more worth it ? How long should it take for me to notice a difference if I am someone who could actually benefit from them ? I am not hugely obese, but I am overweight and my metabolism is pretty slow.

I injected myself with 5ml B complex. It was quite painful and my energy levels didn't go up that I noticed. I also noticed that my urine was golden afterwards. I think I just urinated it all away.

Thanks doctor. I was very deficient in b12 (35pg/ml). I had about 1500mcg shots about 10 in one month and have been on one injection per month for the last 6 years. Is it sufficient? Can I switch over to 1500mcg per day tablets? Here in India we get only intramuscular b12 shots. Between tablets ,sublingual, patches which is better? One injection I had sometime back was very painful. Thanks.

I am taking intramuscular injections of B12 because my stomach can't absorb B12 from food - it was causing pernicious anemia. So if you have this kind of problem, it's better to take injections.

Personally I went to ‘Life Giving Store’ and ordered natural desiccated thyroid. It works well. Monitor your pulse and body temperature & add more or less dosage based on those ranges to keep them balanced. It ships in about two weeks from usa to me here in Canada. Best of luck. I think many of us were in your exact situation. It will get better. Try to take it into your own hands. Or get to a naturopathic doctor if you can afford it.

This might be a silly question but I just stumbled upon your video researching injectable b12 and immediately started shopping around and I noticed Walmart sells a huge bottle for literally a fraction of the price of everywhere else but it's listed as a form for animals and I'm curious if it's one of those situations where it's literally the same thing, much like my dog's meds which are identical to the human version for way less money. I'm literally looking at a 100ml bottle for $6 as opposed to a 50ml bottle of "human" b12 for $125 so I'm like hmm 🤔😅

I'm having such a hard time finding how much I should pull into 100cc syringe! You say 5000 mcg , but wouldn't that only be 5 ccs a week? The lady in your video filled it up to 100! I'm so confused

    • @drwestinchilds
      @drwestinchilds  Před 2 lety +1

It depends on the concentration of your B12 and the size of your syringe.

What the doc said. For example, 1mL of liquid in the syringe is a 1,000mcg dose for my b12. The bottle says this, and I have my recommended dose from my doc too.

For people saying they can’t lose weight, are you saying you could live for the rest of your life without ever eating again?
Of course not, you can’t lose wait because you WONT stop eating too much. Everyone starves if they don’t eat enough and everyone gains weight when they eat too much so everyone loses weight when they eat a healthy diet/correct quantities. Don’t complicate it. At the same time, this b12 looks promising.
