7 Powerful Benefits of B12 Shots you Probably Didn’t Know

  • As many as up to 40-50% of the US population has suboptimal levels of B12 in their body. That means that there is a high chance you may be suffering from B12 deficiency and may respond to B12 supplementation.
In this video, I will walk you through the benefits of using B12 shots over oral formulations such as tablets, capsules, and sublingual B12. In my opinion, B12 shots provide a more immediate response to B12 deficiency and may help a number of people.
The benefits of B12 shots include:
#1. Increase in energy levels and a reduction in fatigue
    - B12 is required in the production of ATP in the mitochondria. Low B12 is associated with fatigue and can be treated with B12 shots.
    #2. Increase in metabolism
    - B12 may help increase your metabolism by increasing the amount of energy that you produce and burn.
    #3. Assistance with weight loss
    - While B12 doesn't directly lead to weight loss by itself, it can help you increase your energy and promote weight loss indirectly.
#4. Increase in sleeping and circadian rhythm
    - B12 deficiency has been associated with insomnia and other sleep problems. If you are deficient in B12 you may notice an improvement when using it.
#5. Reduction in depression and an increase in concentration
    - B12 deficiency may cause brain fog, decreased concentration, and difficulty paying attention. Using B12 may improve these symptoms.
    #6. Boost to immune function
#7. Increase in hair growth and may stop hair loss
    - B12, along with other nutrients, is involved in the hair growth cycle. Low b12 may precipitate hair loss in certain individuals.
These benefits come from using methylcobalamin B12 shots or injections. If you decide to get B12 shots, make sure you get the methylcobalamin form and not the cyanocobalamin form. Methylcobalamin comes pre-methylated and is easier to activate and utilize by your body.
B12 shots seem to work better for some people, especially those with hypothyroidism, especially when compared to oral formulations and even sublingual formulations of B12.
You can inject B12 shots subcutaneously meaning you don't have to use a large needle.

I gave birth in April at 23 weeks leaving my family and I with a 173 NICU stay and extreme birth trauma. I said all of that to say that the experience left me feeling extremely depressed. I began to become concerned most recently as I always felt I was in a fog and it was hard to do the simplest tasks. (Having a preemie who needs to eat every 2 hours doesn’t allow for any fogging lol). I went in for an IV drip recently to try and elevate my energy levels but left with a “b12 + b6 complex” instead. that I must admit I didn’t really think would work. When I tell you I have never felt better!!! It may be a pain in the ass to get to a drs office once a week but it’s the most effective way to take the medication (intramuscular! and so, so worth it. I am able to get up as I need to without feeling like death , I have tons of positive energy, and my appetite as opened up, which for me is positive. I know this comment is long but I just can’t stop telling everyone who will listen about this! I think this could have huge benefits for postpartum moms! The difference was night and day.

Due to following a vegan diet for 1,5 yearsand resulting vitamin b12 deficiency, my body first developed an eczema on my hands, hair loss and later cold night sweats very night. Nobody first knew what was going on with my body. After discovering the deficiency and introducing b12 shots, the night sweats stopped right away and my body recovered. Many doctors never even thought of b12 deficiency in the beginning

Great video ! Thanks dr !
I have a question around the times for each supplement thats taken for hypothyroidism. For e..g best time to take B12, a multivitamin tab(w/o iron), B complex pill, selenium, vitamin D, iron and Vit C when a person is taking T3 only medication.
My doctor told me I could take B12 and B complex any time during the day and even the multivitamin(I use Pure Encapsulations O.N.E). Vitamin D after a meal and iron/magnesium/vit C/Selenium at night. Is this schedule ok ? Do iron, magnesium and selenium interact with each other ?
It would be great if you could answer this or make a video on it (even better) !!

In the book Dirty Genes by Dr Ben Lynch, it discusses how some genetic variations can make you sensitive to some types of B vitamins, so that you need to take them in another form. Also, if you take B12 a lot without balancing it with other B vitamins, you can get symptoms from that imbalance. I think you need vitamin B6 and folate, as well, especially.

Can't sleep despite meds. Neck is kinda hard one side n I can't really swallow easily . I don't talk much on phone as I'm sick of ppl asking what's wring...my voice is hoarse...n its sore if I talk for a while. Hair falling out in clumps. Sweats distressing. I can't hurry up scan or second blood test. Just got given meds n said wait 2 months!! I'd give anything for a bit of energy.. I take all supplements u recommended. I live on tropical island n feel cold 😮 I do nothing all day. I get about 2 he's energy. That's it. Getting one infection after another. Average in between time 3 weeks always where lymph nodes swollen. I'm fed up with being sick. Stress caused a lot. Hair went very n started fall out. Noiw more so. Doctors useless unless I go private n haven't worked for over a year as was in a protection program n cortisol I'm sure high. On anti. Rep n alpraz for PTSD n depression before this...lived on my nerves. Just not living like other ppl. That's how I feel. I'm 3 weeks on lyco meds n WORSE ....How can that be? My levels were so high ...dunno what's high in hypo..th? Some hormone...I was ten. Normal range in blood is 4 to 7. I'm losing weight too.
