    Another great explanation and useful tip with the tape on the rear of the backing plate.
    Keep at the demos they really bring the things you're explaining to life!

      Adam Balfour - Hi Adam. Thanks. We will try to incorporate as many demos as we can. As the channel is slowly gaining traction and we head towards 10,000 views we have invested in a pro microphone so we will now have much better sound on our future videos ... finally in stereo!!! Stay tuned 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽

    Nice vid and good tips re:tape and pressure. I bought this, after some researching, for ease of use as I'm just a weekend warrior and I've been really happy with. Something I'd definitely recommend to somebody who wants to dip their toe into machine polishing.

    Great informative video. No bs straight to the point. If you don't mind, any videos on those who can only machine outdoors and how many passes people should do, this is where I get a bit stuck.

      Hi Tak. Thanks for liking this video. Machine polishing indoors or outdoors is usually no different. Just make sure outdoors your paint is cool to the touch, not a windy day so dust does not blow onto your car, ideally not a hot day, and out of the sun always in shade. How many passes comes from experience, condition of paint, softness/hardness of paint, type of pad/compound/polish used, and ultimately what result you are looking for. As you can see there are many things to consider. What I would suggest is get a polishing pad such as the Rupes Yellow pad, and a good one step polish like Sonax Perfect Finish. Start with 2 passes ... one left to right, then one up and down across a small section. Observe the results to see if you are happy. If not then maybe another 2 passes totalling 4. If you are not getting the results you want then maybe you need a more aggressive compound and/or pad. We will be releasing videos on various pads and compounds/polishes soon 👍🏽. Hope this helps a bit 💯👍🏽

    Great no nonsense video. Ideal for a beginner like me. Could be improved even more if the sound was in stereo

      Hi Andrew. Thank you for your kind comments. Much appreciated and we are glad you found the video useful. We will eventually be releasing more videos in our “Pro Series” range discussing various things inc machine polishers in more detail at a more advanced level. Stay tuned. In the meantime as our channel is gaining traction, and we head towards 10,000 views across our channel you are right in saying that we need better equipment. We have listened and just invested in a pro microphone so this should now allow us to produce videos in stereo sound. Thanks 👍🏽

    Great vid mate very professional, I think you should do a demo on my Vivaro Van, the paint is flat and needs some serious attention!

    Another excellent video. My only question is what is the best technique for polishing over/around those curves/creases? I got a bmw 4 series 2018 in snapper rocks. It really is stunning paint and I will be looking to give it a 1 step possibly 2 in late spring.

    • @VProjectUKDetailing
      @VProjectUKDetailing  Před 3 lety +1

      Hypnotic Monkee ... Thanks again! BMW generally have hard paint. Once you have established paint type and it is indeed hard paint If you’re doing a 1-Step try using Meguiars Detailer D300. If you’re opting for a 2 stage try Sonax CutMax followed by Menzerna Super Finish + 3800. You can safely go over creases! As long as you’re using a pad which has some give you won’t have any issues. Just avoid going over them too much as they are natural high areas which will compound/polish quicker than flat areas so you are removing more clearcoat on the creases. Common sense is the ingredient here. Main point of this video was to highlight that DA machines can stall on curved/creased areas so you think you’re compounding/polishing but in fact all you could be doing is moving the pad over these areas whilst it’s in fact static. Just keep an eye on the rotation and increase the speed if it starts stalling. Good luck (p.s. - this was one of our earlier videos and I think I called the machine 100 different names! Lol 😂 ... the videos are getting better as we learn how to produce them 😂😎🚗)

      @@VProjectUKDetailing it would have to be 2 stages. Any recommendations on pads for stage 1? Or just use the yellow rupes with sonax cutmax?

    • @VProjectUKDetailing
      @VProjectUKDetailing  Před 3 lety +1

      Hypnotic Monkee - If it’s hard paint (which most BMW’s are) then do the first stage using Meguiars Detailer MicroFibre Cutting pads. Check out our pads video for all the info 👍🏽😎🚗

    Don’t understand how that’s a bad technique also do you find perfect finish dusty I do?

    • @VProjectUKDetailing
      @VProjectUKDetailing  Před 4 lety +1

      Hi hakman239 - Sorry for the confusion. We were not intimating it’s a bad technique but we were just demonstrating how we perform machine polishing. Perfect Finish used correctly in the correct temperatures should have minimal dusting if any at all.
