    Tips And Comments:
    - Playing Technique:
    Played between the two pickups with high strength. Bridge knob at 0. Strummed parts are played a little bit closer to the neck pickup
    - Gear Sound:
    Trying to get a Cliff sound was a little difficult. I used some amount of fuzz and boosted the mid frequencies a lot. Added some treble and little bass. For the intro i added distortion and boosted more high frequencies.
    - About The Song:
    Not a very hard song to play, but obviously fun. For the intro is important to keep accuracy and precision. I didn't played the solo (like some of you requested) and stayed faithful to the studio version. If more of you ask for the solo/intro maybe i can do it ;). Strummed parts are played in a style not 100% like Cliff, but i tried to make it similar (to the live video most of you have seen). There's not much live Cliff playing this, so i did what i could.

      YES. I love how he uses that E power chord to make the "ding-dong" pattern of the tolling bell with the low E, especially because the chord makes it sound fuller and more powerful than if it were just a single note pattern. Plus Cliff just knows how to rest on the G, and then have the perfect lick to go on to the next set of bars. Also the C and A octave lines are peak metal badass. RIP Cliff, you brilliantly creative SOB.

      It starts on 19 of the G, but it's much harder to have your hands in a comfortable position on a 20 fret. Also cliff would solo a lot across the main solo and he had a lot more flexibility due to having a 24 fret bass.

      @@cyndie26 most people who learned songs played by ear, which meant they could listen to the notes but they didn't read music. So they documented it in tab, and for genres like metal, blues, folk, etc. that's how people learned. Fretted instruments are the only instruments where that's really possible, or else guitar and bass and so on would a similar amount of people reading in standard notation.

      FlipierFat // Daniyar It just seems easier, especially if you're transcribing by ear, to know what notes to play first and figure out the fingerings later. Plus, I learned the piano before I taught myself the bass, so I knew the bass clef more going in.

      @levilee207 Před 5 lety +5

      @@cyndie26 Put simply, tablature takes half or even a third of the time to learn compared to standard notation. Tablature even contains the signifier notes like staccato notes, sustained notes, time signatures, etc. It just removes the difficult part of reading music. That walking riff/bassline when the guitar comes in is a straight up two step part. Just imagine a bunch of hardcore kids doing that to a band like power trip. Metallica always had some of the coolest riffs

    Wow. I'd always seen Cliff do the downstroke chord part in concert videos but couldn't tell what he was playing. I just thought he was keeping his fingers busy. That was really cool!

      amigo tocar el bajo es precioso pero preparate para personas que dicen que no se escucha tu no les hagas caso porque el bajo es tan importante o más que la propia guitarra y me alegra que la gente aprecie el bajo mas gente como tu amigo y buena suerte y fuerza a todos los bajistas :))))

    Lyrics for sing along:
    Make his fight on the hill in the early day
    Constant chill deep inside!
    Shouting gun, on they run, through the endless grey
    On they fight for the right, yes but who's to say?
    For a hill, men would kill, why? They do not know
    Stiffened wounds test their pride!
    Men of five still alive through the raging glow,
    Gone insane from the pain that they surely know
    For Whom the Bell Tolls...Time marches on!
    For Whom the Bell Tolls!
    Take a look to the sky just before you die,
    It's the last time he will!
    Blackened roar, massive roar, fills the crumbling sky
    Shattered goals fills his soul with a ruthless cry,
    Stranger now are his eyes to this mystery,
    Hear the silence so loud!!!
    Crack of dawn, all is gone except the will to be
    Now they see what will be, blinded eyes to see
    For Whom the Bell Tolls... Time marches on!
    For Whom the Bell Tolls!!!

      CoverSolutions When I play the beginning, G string on 19th fret, it sounds higher than it should be. I played this song last night and several people commented that it sounded too sharp, how do I dull the sharpness to get your sound? I double check my tuning and am in standard EADG @440 with only distortion, no fuzz.

    • @lordearminda924
      @lordearminda924 Před 9 lety +1

      Check the begging of the video the tunning is A450 or something I think
