Cliff and Kirk, the unhateable duo.
@@dremcghee6578 Well yes, your statement is true, not everyone probably liked him. But amongst most Metallica fans, overall everyone likes Cliff the most when compared to other members of the band. I personally like all members of Metallica, the only thing that I don’t like about them is how badly they treated Jason after Cliff’s passing. But yes they absolutely did many spectacular live shows after Cliff’s passing. No one could ever replace Cliff, but Jason did bring a lot to the table especially with live shows during his time in Metallica.
Cliff Burton, the enigmatic bassist, understood this ache. His fingers danced across the frets, weaving intricate melodies that echoed the mysteries of the universe.

LMAO!!
imagine how great metallica could have been if cliff was still alive
Could have been? Are you serious bro?
Metallica is the best Rock Band in the world and of all times. And I say Rock because Metal is part of Rock...
What you said is like saying... Ohh Imagine how great Eminem could have been if he would still be named Slim Shady.
Cliff was one of the greatest bass players of all times, but you're disregarding the great work that Jason Newsted and Rob Trujillo have done and still does (Rob's case)... Don't forget that the biggest albuns came after Cliff's death.
But I can agree if you say that Metallica only came this far because they had Cliff at the early stages of the band because James knows nothing about music (well, you know what I mean, he learned throughout his career... Cliff teached him how to compose harmonics and other stuff, etc) and Lars sure knows about drums but that's it.
Jason Newsted and Rob Trujillo did absolutely great for metallica after Cliff, and I still love and respect Metallica, but if Cliff didn't lose his life, I mean Metallica could be bigger and better than the Metallica now.
Eddy Parera They are still good, but after Cliff died they lost something. Jason Newsted is a great bassist, but he was useless in Metallica (compare his playing on Metallica albums to his playing on Flotsam and Jetsam's "Doomsday for the deceiver"). Robert is great and I hope that Hardwired to self destruct will be good. And I don't think Load, ReLoad or St. Anger (fuck this shit) were their biggest records. Black Album was, but it's not as good as Ride the Lightning or Master of Puppets. And I wouldn't say Metallica is the best rock band of all time (I like Black Sabbath more), but that's an opinion.
It make me wonder what would've happened when the black album turned up or even AJFA? Cliff drew a line in the sand and would not cross it. He would've never let them wear makeup, cut their hair, try for mainstream success. It is really intriguing to think some of the music that would've kept coming from the group with him.
First of all, Jason didn't play a big part in Metallica as James didn't let him have much influence on the band (he almost composed nothing except a few songs) and that is why he left the band. They didn't make the same mistake with Trujillo fortunately.
Secondly, no, metal isn't part of rock. If it was so then Rock would be part of Blues and Blues would be part of African Music. Metal takes its roots in Rock but took its distance by using structures from classical music. And if I had to be picky, I would say Metal comes from Hard Rock which is pretty much different that standard Rock.
And Finally : Cliff was one of the main composer and inspiration of the band. With his death you can clearly see how the band changed his style. So yeah his survival would have make Metallica very different.
God watching this high feels like Cliff's spirit is flowing through me
Burton is so talented. Shame we lost him
