My dad was in the parking lot waiting for us and said a bunch of guys in masks walked by his truck and got into a tour bus. We were like yeah THAT WAS SLIPKNOT. He had no clue what we were talking about lol. Definitely a show I will remember forever
Born again Christian here. I found Slayer the same day I found God. Don't think it was a coincidence. Slayer brings me closer to the Spirit as weird as that sounds.
In a song that: begins with a blood curdling scream, has a turbo fast main riff, and about a solid minute of dueling guitar solos, the best part still belongs to Dave Lombardo and his feet.
Absolutely extreme playing, how the Hell can be played a such intensive play during more one half hour per show days after days, weeks after weeks, years after years, decade after decade...sincere respect!!.

I saw them at The Warfield SF back in 2003. At 4:27 Dave stood up with this look on his face like he was possessed and then he smiled right before going back to banging his drums. The crowd went crazy. One of the most memorable concert experiences of my life.
I wasn't even born at the time and was very small when they got old, also i live in asia. I always wish to visit my favourite old bands but I can't. Cuz they rarely come to Asia, as metal is not something super popular here.
I saw them in 2011 with Rob Zombie opening. I couldn't hear very well the next day and my girlfriend told me she had no idea how much I loved this band ha ha.
Honestly, when I first heard this song, I never heard of the Angel of death. This song made me further aware of the atrocities. This song should never be censored. It really captures the horror of that time. Scariest song I ever heard - because much of it is based on history. Kick ass song btw.
It is a kickass song and it is one of the scariest in my opinion. It’s the only song I’ll listen to by this band. And yup, this song is about that psycho doctor Josef Mengele, one of the worst Nazi ever.
@@user-xx5cc4ws9z I cannot agree with you anymore about 1:41. That riff, and the breakdown that happens after it, is the best riff/dynamic breakdown of that whole entire genre of music.
Yes energetic in youth. Now older , one tends too turn grey. At this old age it's much more about tranquility in music. Still the scope of intensity in thier music. Just following a different beat of drum now. Thank God.
Kiss drummer Peter Kriss got me interested in drums as a kid in the 70s. But Dave Lombardo was the one who lit the fire and made me get a drum set cuz I wanted to play drums like THAT. I was 16 when this album came out and it changed my life forever
I LOVE Slayer! When I first heard them back in the mid-eigbties I thought they were evil BUT I grew up and realized they were just a group of awakened souls trying to spread a message. They never glorified Mengale but we're just trying to keep history alive. If we forget where we came from we'll surely go back there.
