I love how Hishikaku has become the go-to guy to insert into a story when you need a really arrogant and obnoxious Foundation higher-up who promptly gets absolutely verbally wrecked by everyone around them.
I’m so glad we all hate him.
Especially when the story features an AI, his "specialty".
And somehow still manages to ruin the entire universe, every single time. He deserves an SCP log himself
Poor guy, honestly. I think perhaps the 05s deserve the bite for not putting someone ready and able to do what was needed into these positions. Poor Hishikaku man.
It borders on lolFoundation to me, it absolutely baffles the mind that Hishikaku hasn’t been terminated. Is there a SINGLE story where he’a an asset to the Foundation rather than a massive liability?

It took forever, but it hit me when you summed up the future predictions about halfway through.
I love how it’s not at all out of character for the SCP foundation to be running all their ideas by a magic 8 ball. Now my question is, what if it was just a normal magic 8 ball and the foundation gaslit itself into protecting this hunk of plastic out of confirmation bias.

6:42 the name "Hishakaku" made me audibly groan. I've read numerous articles with him involved by now and somehow he always manages to be a real piece of shit, no matter what happens in the story.
He is perhaps most notable in 7579 and 6488, where he truly shows how Hishakaku gets shit done; incredibly poorly.

@@tylerpierce2349 like the other person who replied to me said, he is probably most notable in SCP-6488 and SCP-7579. 6488 is part of the "admonition" series, and you can find a playlist on it by TES. 6488 is interesting enough to be good by itself though if you don't want to go through the whole playlist.
@@tylerpierce23498888 of course, as well as 7579, which is essentially an evolved version of 079 that hishakaku allowed to grow out of control. (Although I wouldn’t place all the blame on Hishakaku, Supervisor Valis did essentially antagonize 079 into his evolution)

As a nerd who loves ancient tech, I really like the reference to the Antikythera Mechanism at the end when talking about the device's history
For context, it is a clockwork mechanism created in ancient Greece found in the early 20th century stored in Athens' museum. Modern analyses using Xray to count the gear tooth reveal it was a complex device that could predict the movement of planets with impressive accuracy (there's a great bbc documentary about it that goes into further details, it is insane, they even accounted for the minute changes in the speed of the Moon around the Earth)
I love how as soon as you hear Hishikaku's name pop up, you INSTANTLY know this article is gonna be a ride and AI is another wonderful man made horror beyond our comprehension

Haven’t read the wiki on this one yet, but I’ve got my prediction.
Hishakaku organized the theft of SCP-8888 in an attempt to first undermine, then overthrow the O-5 Council, asserting himself as the sole leader.
I see your prediction and raise you mine. SCP-8888 foresaw/predicted Hishakaku harming the SCP in some significant way involving SCP-8888 & made another prediction to avoid the situation which involved the SCP stealing SCP-8888 from itself.
We already know all SCP-8888's predictions have been made for the SCP.
Eh, Hishakaku being the big bad just seems too simple for a story like this. He may be involved, as rocki says, but I doubt they would play it that straight.

This audio narrator has me tuning into stories I'd otherwise have little interest in. He's dead-on with dry gravitas. Cutting and crisp, really grabs my attention and holds onto it with a vice-grip

If everyone is so convinced that Hishikaku is a terrible person who sucks at his job, then why does the Foundation still employ him? Why did they ever hire him in the first place? How can he possibly be this freaking bad? I'm really tired of it. If he works for the Foundation at a high level, then he should have been exhaustively evaluated again and again and again thousands of times; it should not be possible for him to still have a position of such authority if he has no redeeming qualities.
