SCP-093 - Red Sea Object : Object Class - Euclid : Extradimensional SCP
Item #: SCP-093
Object Class: Euclid
Special Containment Procedures: See testing document SCP-093-T1 for outline of testing conditions. SCP-093 must remain on a mirror at all times and under video surveillance. Admittance into the area of SCP-093's containment must be authorized only with proper video recording and subject retrieval procedures in place. Any attempt to use SCP-093 outside of an approved test will be dealt with severely, up to and including termination.
Description: SCP-093 is a primarily red disc carved from a stone composite resembling cinnabar, with circular engravings and unknown symbols carved at 0.5 cm depth around the entire object. Deeper cuts are present on SCP-093 with a depth of 1 to 1.5 cm. SCP-093 is 7.62 cm in diameter and fits comfortably into most palms without abrasion. SCP-093 will change hue when held by a living individual. The colors taken by SCP-093 are still being researched to establish a link. Current belief holds that the changes depend upon regrets carried by the holder.
If SCP-093 is removed from a mirror and not held by a person, it will seek out the nearest mirror-like surface. SCP-093 has been observed to travel in the largest possible circle while rolling, building up phenomenal speed. The mechanism of this acceleration is currently unknown. If an obstacle is between SCP-093 and the nearest mirror-like surface, it will use this momentum to punch through the obstacle and continue on its course at this speed. It will only stop when a mirror-like surface is contacted. Despite tremendous impact velocities, no damage will be dealt to SCP-093 or the mirror.

This is my favorite scp. I find that including and even correlating the subjects' personalities and past with the scp makes for a very compelling story. It's one thing to hear the fates of complete strangers and think "gee i wouldn't like to be in his/her place", it's another to hear their personal details and empathize and/or wonder how that helps us understand the nature of an scp AND the person interacting with the scp. The focus of the story isn't the scp alone, the people in it matter because they actually read like people, not just characters.
P. S. I don't actually think the colors correlate to guilt. I think that, based on how the story seems to imply, they have more to do with temperament. And if that's the case, there must be a least-to-most color spectrum. I still wonder what that had to do with the point of entrance for individuals though.
Thank you for the amazing work, by the way. I often feel like I'm sitting in for an actual, real lecture. You seem to have an extremely solid and natural narrative method that makes immersion effortless. I'm a fan.
I do think it has to do with guilt given the content of the dimension. Of course test 2 involving 2 children was very much coincidental. But given the content of the research and religious values of the dystopian world you go into, the idea that these devices transport you there based on guilt may fair. Perhaps they sent 093 devices through to different dimensions basically as a method of different universes sending their sinners to them for reconditioning. But as the SCP foundation knows, multi dimensional/universe travel is quite dangerous and caused the collapse of their entire civilization from the torso monsters
These spooky adventures give me an adrenaline rush due to the anticipation of something to go wrong. Your voice-acting and reading skills are on-point!
Also, I feel sorry for the escort member who got left behind because the subject was an idiot and ran through the portal before his turn.
Yeah, some of these D-Class forget their place
It seems like Purgatory, with the Faith OS, the judgment systems, the âcamerasâ within the dimension not being able to see one another even though clearly able to relay video feeds. Plus the very specific mirror/portal locations corresponding to different peopleâs handling of the object. Not sure about the brown or green hardening liquid/gel, but to me it sounded like containment substance, it spews onto surfaces, hardens, so that whatever it hardened around can be dealt with at who ever is judgingâs leisure. I also think the various degrees of dust has to do with the subject holding the object OR just use from the inhabitants of that dimension. On the subject of the inhabitants of that dimension, I figure they are only visible when no one from our dimension or any others are present. The Angels or who ever are out of phase when people from any other dimension is present. There is evidence of this from when objects like computers are working and have been used but no one is around in that moment to use them because the dimension itself can sense incoming beings from other dimensions. It just seems way way too perfect that some same structures are present during a few expeditions but some of these expeditions donât have the same locations even though they should exist. Like Purgatory is morphing itself to each and every expeditions perception of said dimension (Purgatory) but some structures persist over multiple expeditions. This should be an ongoing SCP file where same color expeditions are explored, like a second bright red expedition or a second blue expedition, like that. I just want to see if scientific repetition experiments lead to the same results or expeditions with the same colors yield different results/expeditions. Love the mysterious nature of this SCP but it does have a visible narrative ceiling, although it seems like it can be explored tons more.
Iâm not sure if you read the scp wiki in this, it gives you so much more to learn. And also the goo things come out of the monsters. Iâm not calling them the unclean because they considered the HUMANS to be unclean.
its in a story relating to dr blackwood
it explains it alot more but not what happened between then and now

Professor Crow? Is that you?
I mean deathstranding esque in its alt world genre with other wordly world ending beings.. Otherwise very different. This was a world destroyed by hyper religiousness, despite having more advanced tech which is actually less likely with an even more strict an religious world.. Religion in our world has hekd us back, as far as developments, 1000 years ish already.. I cant imagine where wed be in a world like this.. Damn near the dark ages id imagine. Although I think advancements happen anyway so long as they arent labled witchcraft or what have you.. And since its not our world, this could be a world a billion or more years older allowing for a slower advancing civilization to still get to the point in the story..
Or Maybe it has to do with a weird god using this world as an inbetween sort of realm

When I first read this last year I knew it must be made into a video game.
The Laws that bind the very nature of reality demands it.
Theres a few SCP based games out there. None are big budget though, all of them are indie games but SCP containment breach seems very good.

This is an SCP I want a movie of, or maybe a series of movies as part of the SCP Universe. There's SO MUCH to explore, and it lends itself to a visual medium.
Why is there a religious piety in this world?
How did they get so technologically advanced whilst maintaining an outdated style?
What are the faceless torsos? Are they responsible for the collapse of this world, or just a symptom of the aftermath?
Who and what are the figures in the footage? Why can't they be seen in person? Are they the previous inhabitants of this world, or are they a byproduct of it's collapse?
What is significant about the object and how did it get to our universe?
If people ever band together to make an SCPCU, this is something I want a movie, maybe two or three to explore. It's such an amazingly written article.
