Wrong. Wax ring needs to go between the old flange and new seal, and you’re likely creating a gap keeping that floating white flange piece in there. You shouldn’t need that with this kit.
Additional comment. This particular version = 10672 comes with an UPPER opening of 2 1/2 inch diameter. Whereas if your toilet downspout has a diameter of 3.5 inches it is NOT going to work all that well
Behind times, but I hope you've not had to learn the hard way about keeping those holes covered. It's not fun fishing your bits, wrenches, and other assorted debris out of your waste lines.
Gotta put the wax ring between the Hydroseat and the old flange for a seal. No wax ring between Hydroseat and toilet downspout. It shows this on the side of the box, but it's not super clear.
Great video. Head’s up. The outer fastening holes for wood floor. The center holes you drill right into old flange. I had to repair broken flange cement floor that’s tiled. Got tapcons (lifesaver) and drilled through flange, cement and fastened center screw holes. Still makes me nervous idea of no ring on top of fix, but no leaks, smell. This thing takes a lot of aggravation and time messing with broken flange.
just installed one of these. IMPORTANT. Pickup a wax ring without a collar and put it around the existing flange before bolting this down. I made the mistake of putting a wax ring down over it. This is incorrect. Back to Home Depot!
How did it hold up? I had to shim my toilet after installation as it wasn’t even with the floor I think you were supposed to put a wax ring before the flange
@@greendesert69 He assumed the soil would fall under gravity, but unless the drain pipe is much larger than the flange (with no flow restrictions) the unsealed flange will see water and leak. And use all four mounting screws; a toilet can eventually overload 2 screws in the wrong places, with leaking.
Thanks for putting the name of the product in the video title, that's how I found this one. You look like you are also a Floridaman given the flip flops lol. I found the same repair piece at Home Depot.
One toilet anchor was stripped out at the base flange. Could use an anchor that screws into floor; or replace the flange that's cemented to the waste pipe. Since there is room for another flange might use a press-in flange on top of busted flange but tied into floor; or place "seal" on busted flange then insert a normal 3" flange tied into floor.

Excellent tip thanks
Step 1: Put on disposable gloves.
Excellent tip
Interested if this application ever leaked. Without the wax ring, there is a possibility it leaked already.
It is working super so far cross your fingers

Thanks for the tips! The worst thing you can do is drop a wrench down there that would be a nightmare. Thanks for watching.
Thank you for the video. You should only drill the first hole and tie the first screw, then drill the next hole.
Excellent tips thank you very much. And thanks for watching.

I didn’t use a wax ring. I just put it back together and Pam Bob, is your uncle no leaks yet
you forgot the wax ring before putting down the new flange.
With this one, you don’t need a wax ring
@@TomLeeman sorry Tom you really need to read the actual instructions printed in the box

Existing flange is already 3/8 inch above cement floor. This additional flange on top of it makes it so toilet does not sit flat on the floor. Help?
@@kena3752 get a thinner flange or shim it back to level or not rocking
Local store should sell those toilet shims
No wax ring?
Yes I use the wax ring when I put the toilet down
@@TomLeeman aren't you supposed to put the wax ring before you put the fixer?
@@HsienTsungWu Yes Steve, put the wax ring down on the existing flange before you screw this flange down.
@@danbulmer exactly. you need the wax ring below... sheesh what a waste.

It appears that you have three of the phalange tabs screwed sitting ON TOP of the flooring and the fourths screwed BELOW. NOT SO GOOD

No wax ring
Why not just use a flat flange spacer?
That is a great tip thanks thanks for watching
Please don't do this. Clean the old up stuff good, put a wax ring on the old flange, use ALL 4 mounting points! Then install your toilet.
I have to have you come over and do it next time

These work, but the wax ring goes under that, not on top and between toilet like normal
