"He's winning but it doesn't mean that he'll win the game."
Undead Nightorc that one line pretty much sums up why he’s the best. When he says it, he actually believes it because he knows it comes from a place of confidence, knowledge, and honesty that he can trust.
Very interesting 😊 If you like chess here you can see: The top 10 chess players per year by Fide rating - From 2000 till 2020 czcams.com/video/fWjc5j0bqB4/video.html
My thoughts in 90% of my bullet games.
@Undead Nightorc Carlsen in a nutshell...
Magnus's confidence is just on such a high level that he already knows all fight consequences
Magnus to a 2887 rated player:"i hope he doesnt know what hes doing"
And luckily, he didn't.
@@damiangilz he did, its just that he is against Carlsen
That's not the official rating.
@@seanras4046 3244 isn't Magnus' official rating either. Even though the ratings is inflated, Eyt1293 is most likely a titled chess master.
Can you explain to me what this ranking point mean? On lichess i am at 1400 but i di not know what that means
Such a wonderful series. Just amazing to think this will be still be watched in 50 years when people talk about the legend of Magnus Carlsen.
There won't be chess at that time
TheFivezerofive why not?
@@TheFivezerofive YEAH DUDE?????? HAHAAHHAAHA STFU DUMB IDIOT HAHAHAHAH WTF LEARN CHESS KID
@@TheFivezerofive chess is always there
There won't be people at that time.
Magnus is always hydrated
What an organic comment
Unlike Eddie hall
unlike eddie hall
He could also probably bench 10 plates and deadlift 20 with this amount of hydration
@@thebunnykiller28 one does not simply copy a comment
Magnus : takes 1 min 38 sec on one move in banter blitz
Opponent : assumes Magnus dropped his camera multiple times and chit chatted throughout
Magnus : actually thought about the game the whole time
Clearly he wasted time by talking. He would've took the decision if all was going on his mind.
"I would not want to be in his shoes, even though he's a knight up and probably objectively winning."
If that was me against Magnus I'd sacrifice the King instead
Azri Arif lol
@generic generic lmao
**I use the king to destroy the king**
He never seems to panic.
He plays so much
He is not that slow, nor that weak.
In opposite, from his talk, after Rd3, MC spends almost all of his time until 30 secs remaining. It sign little panic. He don't know what to do to continuing his attack. But, in the end, his instinc take over, and Qf5 is the only move! and just play whatever his gut feeling (this for us, mortals, we know he activated his beast mode lol). Ofc this is not work with top level GM. His choice for Knight sacrifice early show that he cleary know to adjust his skill for the opponent. I mean if he serious from move 1, nobody can withstand. Many of super GM, including Hikaru once says that even in bad form, Magnus' mediocre move is naturally good move. Just shows us how really good his instinc from vast memories
No reason to panic when he knows he's better than everyone else.
@@alephnull4044 u miss the point. As human, is natural to panic. Watch again his talk. My point is his 'little panic' works well because its awaken her beast instinc. If u follow his career, u will know he is well know as late starter players, his panic is his power
Only Carlsen can wait until he is 35 seconds down on the clock to talk about a flagging lol
With pinpoint accurate moves.
He is the worlds best afterall :^)
Lol
This was a demonstration of why is Magnus the best of all. Keeping chill even when his plan went to shit and in a split of a seconds simply came up with another crushing strategy. Wow, what an honor to witness his greatness
thats why hes the best, this fast thinking and changing plans in a few seconds, simply a genius
Patterbs
Magnus "If I can't mate him, I'm going to flag him" Carlsen
@korrok i want magnus to bate me
He says “if only I had some imagination” I heard him say that he actually thought he did have imagination, but then realized that he is logical more then creative.
I mean he’s creative, but usually only if his ideas are good
Greg Gregory You can be better at one than the other, which is what OP is saying...
Hes definitely not as creative as fisher or kasparov IMO, but overall he'd probably beat both, not that i want to open that can of worms again
@@juanaltredo2974 He has beaten Kasparov but I'm not sure about Fischer. Magnus had the time to study Fischer's plays but Fischer doesn't have 'cause he is.... dead.
@@Angelica-cj5wf Yes, that's what I'm saying, as an all-around player Carlsen is probably the best, but strictly talking about invention and creativity, I think those two and Capablanca had more, and given his standards he probably measures himself against the very best, so in a way he's right.
Pretty sure the opponent thought he could cause some disruption with that fast advancing D pawn, but Magnus was ready to spring the offside trap.
Meanwhile when I play as black, "whut, where is my knight??"
"How horse thing move?"
This was hilarious man
@@JimmyBoosterCrate “ L “ shape in any direction. Thats the only piese that can jump through another piese...and it’s knight not horse thing😂
It goes to show how important your pieces position is, because even when being down a Knight and a Pawn, Magnus still gets a decisive victory.
i thought he was losing. i didn't expect the mate in the end. wow!
6th commennt btw
Thx for spoilering
it wasnt mate though, guy resigned
@@oscarhoppen9734 watch the video before seeing comments

I dont know why but this is incredible entertaining to watch😂😄
prob something to do with the best chess player in the world
I love how there is a magnus ad in front of magnus
I played his game where you play against him and I couldn’t get past 6 years.
I’m addicted to this. I can’t get enough.
Yeah, that was a very tricky line there, but good possibilities and your imagination was just perfect for the challenge presented after all! Thx good show and gg!

This guy should play chess tournaments, he can be a good chessplayer or might even score some good games. Keep it up!😂
Who?
@@yorshka6955 sarcasm
@@yorshka6955 I'm pretty sure he was referring to chess24 user Eyt12983, Magnus' opponent in this match.
Matteo Alessandro im pretty sure hes talking about magnus, would love to see him play professionally, though I doubt he would be able to beat GM’s over 2700
@@eirik.9384 I could take him
Very similar to how my games go. Except the last part though. My dubious sacrifices typically lead to me being a piece down in the end game and resigning
his English has improved a lot. i remembered listening to him back then when he was just a boy or when he was teen-age, it was very difficult. now it's a lot better to understand and learn from him.
I always get to that stage in a game where I have no ideas and I can find a refutation for every move I have available. Position isn't even lost most of the time, it's just that there's nothing productive to do (that a human can see anyway). Then I lose.
at 1:59 why can't he play bishop H4. Taking with the pawn would result in mate in two if the queen goes G4 then G2. If pawn doesn't take bishop, bishop could take on G3 and if knight takes back go queen H3 then maybe G2?
6:10 the environmental music of the end as it is called or what kind of music is it please someone tell me
ambient music?
Was wondering why he did that Qc5 before moving the queen to the h file. This is a nicemove! it provokes Qf2 that is an important escape square for the king. either way he was mating, but still some high class technique
Pausing at 4:10, what's wrong with bringing the D8 rook to G8, saccing the first rook, then bringing the bishop up if he takes it so you can move the G8 rook to G6 and then H6?
I really like that calm and confident attitude of Carlsen. Doesn't show over ambition but knows what to do and success comes
*"They are there in your mind"*
Never find Thor play chess like this before
At 4:35, how about bishop G5, then if Bishop or Knight recaptures, just trade down to Queen on G5. Then play QH5 and make rook lift at D6
"if only I had some imagination.."
How do I get that theme on chess24? Maybe I’m missing it, only see 3 basic color schemes
5:43 Qf2 is a mistake, because Rh1+ and Kxh1 and Qxf2
Omg Magnus says “where are my ideas?” What an honor to hear that 😑
😊
If I were the opponent, my body would tremble and the mind would go blank watching those deadly attacks!
since from the start he knew he won. But rather he pretended not...how humble..carlsen your far from genius...you are really the greatest player of all time...i was in the beginning to watch more of your games and i really amazed with your moves...
4:36
what about exd? After cxd (Rxd4 Rxd4 cxd) Bb5 if white bishop moves or takes Black rook is getting to h6.
What am I missing?
Well if exd The White Knight is gone.
whats the website?
This is going to be my new favorite channel!
"Its all about one thing: Can I mate?"
5:38 if dxe7, black moves rh1, qh5, qh2 for mate
Wow, I like how you solve it. Amazing, like an art. The flexibility of your thought process is simply Magic Magnus.
At 3:54 is bishop to h4 even an idea. If he takes it might be, but it doesn't quite work... Still like the C5 pawn push idea more, but I don't see a lot there either, maybe equality... Yours played out much better... ;)
Amazing space grab and game, by both sides.
Why the C5 check at the end before H5 to move in for the mating sequence?
The vision of a computer or Mikhail Tal when he was at his best and let´s say never had to struggle with kidney-problems or thirst for alcohol or tobacco would be great.
How privileged we are to hear his thoughts outloud
Me:how am I gonna win this
My brain:no idea
Talk about your fpl mate?
In the movement that took too long, he could play rook g8, then change bishops , take the white horse with the rook, move to the left and go for the mate with the queen. Or there is something i'm missing
Magnus played speculative but imaginative attacking chess here. :)
3:01 what about bishop g5 here?
It threatens rookh6
If bishop takes then we have rook takes knight takes and Rd6with the idea of Rh6 and Qh1
If knight takes we have either Rh6 or Rdd6 (probably the latter is better) with the idea of using the h-file
What does Rdd6 means?
And probably knight and not bishop takes and magnus I think can't do nothing in this case
Rdd6 means that took on d8 moves to d6 to threaten Rh6 as if you play it straightaway there’s nh3 which is annoying
At 1:48 what stops Queen H3 followed by Queen G2
Nevermind black queen just takes the pawn lol
White could go Qxf3 to defend the king
hey guys, nice to see yall, hell of a game thats for sure:)
And calmly taking back the pawn with the bishop might have saved white.
3:41 hello villager #9
4:08 I legit thought my video was paused lol
Making Magnus think for more than a minute must feel like a win!!!
funny, he is so good, he has to play (in his words) 'bad openings' to have to be challenged in a game.
Yeah but what I want to know
"is it raining down in Texas?"
@@user-bp5mz4jy7i yeah...all the telephone lines are down
@@turnerthemanc apparently so are the helicopter lines.
@@user-bp5mz4jy7iHave you ever wondered why a lot of your conversations end abruptly
@D.A. Productions ask him, he said it
6:10 la musica ambiental del final como se llama o que tipo de musica es porfavor que alguien me diga
If he is live streaming it, can't the opponent watch the livestream while he is playing to know what Mag is going to do next and what he is thinking out-loud? Or was it not live streamed?
Yeah, he could've stream sniped him. But that would still be very difficult.
Magnus said once: "if your plans are good, there's no need to hide them". (Here it is: czcams.com/video/f5TZVo4442Q/video.html)
No,i got a chance to play him in such game like this,i wanted to have fun,by doing this there is no fun
Where could i play with him?
I would be elated to hear Magnus Carlsen say, "Good game, sir. That was not...not easy." Eyt12983 you must be pleased.
at 4:30 can he not go Bg5 force the trade, go down the exchange but then go rook d6 preparing h6, I dont see any defence
Suppose if there is a situation, where I lost my all pieces only the king is the last one standing and the opponent have 2 pieces remaining, one king and other one is a ♜ or a ♛.... So is there any legal moves for my king to draw the match?
what about peon c5? i have no clue but i see it a good play
A mini football pitch!! haha! That's so cool. xD
Can anyone explain why he didn't take the knight on H4 the queen?
Magnus is such a gent in win and in defeat, a real champion
Does anybody know what his opening was? It kinda looked like urosov
Cool board design
Graphical design/skin of the virtual board an homage to Fantasy Premier League? ;-)
Took my breath away though
interestingly, 27...Qc5+ at 5:42 actually throws away the win. White blundered, but with correct defence it becomes equal after this move
Legend has it that's straight vodka he drinks.
The only solution!
THE ONLY!!!
WOW!!!
Magnus should have sac the bishop in h4 to open up things
He is going crazy.
you should've used the pawn
At 2:03 , why didnt magnus go queen h3?
Why is dxe5 good for white?
at the end what about pawn takes bishop e8 check rook forced to capture rook mate?
Can’t. King is in check.
I’m not good at chess, but like watching Magnus. But why didn’t play white xe7 after Magnus played xg3? After Qh5 e8(Q) is check. Rxe8 and Re8 white would be better and could have won if he could bring in his Q.
I even think it would be checkmath
That is true, chess is never easy!
If Carlsen played against himself, he’d win while at the same time not losing.
pawn d6 at 5:41 should've went e7 and it would've been a win for him
4:27 " jick " sound is when something goes bad we make
Jick jick jick ooo really ?
Greetings from Turkey i found something similar
bf8 and then bh6?
Incredible, he just tried something, out of nowhere and mate like a tractor.
who has the last laugh?
I play very often this line. :)
I'm a low level player. please could someone explain why the opponent resigned and didn't move the king to G1 at the end there?
I guess out of respect since Magnus turned the tables big time at the very end
because it's a mate in 1, kg1, black moves his queen to h8 and it's checkmate, or white can block with queen and black just take queen also with checkmate, white blundered the game away at the end.
Genius!!!! I love those videos
Why do you lose if you’re a knight down?
Fantastic attack!
