The other thing you forgetting is, the West, mainly America didn't care about it... no help was coming... just empty words... The Soviets left... but came back as they made a deal with America about the Suez crisis... and a guarantee to not getting involved to help to the Hungarians... "America has no friends, just interests"... definitely not in Eastern Europe...

Then when the Soviet officer went back to the USSR our own dear Hungarian security service took over, and the hangings begun.

As American intelligence was reporting on the massing of soldiers, Zelensky was berating the US for alarmist warnings. He got enlightened once the Russians invaded.
Hungary may not be a target like Moldova, but needs to be prepared by building better relationships with NATO members.

Actually, the military indstrial complex isn´t making as much money as it could be making out of this war, because Biden doesn´t actually want Ukraine to win the war. Im an American and i saw an interview between Tucker Carlson and Hungary’s PM. Its refreshing to see a politician with rational and reasonable views fir governing. I want to look into moving there with my kids. The US is unsafe and our terrible politicians are the cause. I dont agree with the MSM view of the Ukraine/Russia conflict. I don't think you understand anything. I'm from Poland and here in Poland we know well enough how "sweet" is "Russian love". We have survived harsh Russification while partitions and then communist-Russian occupation behind the Iron Courtain. We won't be enslaved that way again. And Ukrainians have faced the same amount of a "Russian caresses": domination and Great Hunger in 1930's. They know what does it mean to be enslaved by Russians and don't want to experience that once again. They know their dignity. With Slavic nations it is rather simple: when we once understand what freedom is we won't go back under the occupation. It is more than teritory that's at stake here. There is the question of preserving culture, independence and the right to choose your own as a nation. Ukrainians have a right to exist, to live, to thrive. 🇵🇱❤️🇺🇦

Very matured and balanced talk by the Hungarian Foreign Minister. Appreciate the way he articulates his thoughts convincingly. I have always loved Hungary and Hungarian people. Made me fall in love with the country again.
I saw many of those students at Lonya refugee center on March 5th. Along with the Red Cross colleagues I worked with that night, we were happy to assist transport them to Záhony and then Budapest.

Real invasion and war in Ukraine US started 2014. This is peace operation of Russian Federation which actually joined the conflict to stop war and ensure security and safety for Donbas region and whole RUSSIA, country of 150 million ppl.

No, he was being diplomatic, he was re-framing his language away from inflammatory rhetoric. But it is refreshing to hear a charismatic politician appealing to reason and then linking it back to rhetoric.
Not possible, the president and all US politicians are controlled by the rich, military and oil company, where as truly good governance, leadership is a true representation of the people, not just the 1% of the elite. You might not like it but India and China government are more true representation of their people. Good for both countries as they do what is best for their own people, not just the best of another countries that is thousands of miles away from their shores.
