Hey dan, remember how in the start of this that you’d cover Thomas’s history to 2015? Well a lots of stuff happened since then but will you cover the Modern history from 2016-2019 or 2020 or will it end at the 70th anniversary

Adventure Begins without a doubt. It's what the series needed to show people where the show came from and what it's supposed to stand for today. I'm looking at you Mattel.
My favourite Thomas movie is definitely The Adventure Begins because it was the first time in the CGI series something was based off the original source material and despite having a short run time of 45 minutes this is how I would picture a Thomas movie.

This was a brilliant video. It is amazing how much testing on the CGI parts were done. I loved Series 12 and enjoyed 'Hero of the Rails' the most. As the CGI films and Series 13 and 14 had their good sides, they were all let down by the constant rhyming, no realism and the repetitive scenes we kept seeing.
The diesel 10 bit at the end of misty island rescue always scared me when i was little.

It's been nearly half a decade since the first one! I have been watching this for around 2-3 years. Even though I'm not really interested in Thomas anymore, but when I saw this in my recommended a few weeks ago, I instatly clicked on it.
"The Adventure Begins" is nothing more than say one of the best ones. Sure it's only 44 minutes, making the feature more of a special than a movie, but it feels almost like a movie version of the first two books of the Railway Series.
You know I really wish Thomas & Friends The Adventure Begins was more like from the Railway Series books. There was also several goofs and a few errors in the CGI animation.
It also retold the first 7 episodes of the TV Series like "Come Out, Henry!", "Edward Helps Out", "Thomas Gets Tricked", "Trouble For Thomas", "A Big Day For Thomas", and 2 other episodes I don't know the titles of, and it shows Thomas' LBSC livery and James' black livery for the first time in the TV Series.

Another Interesting Fact: Derek was going to appear in the Season 16 episode, Bust my Buffers!, but he was labeled as "Paxman" (because that was his basis), but it was misinterpreted as Paxton, so Paxton appeared instead. Honestly, it could have happened at any time, so it's not exactly Mattel's fault.

To answer the question I would say The Great Discovery. It has the best Thomas moral and holds a special place in my heart. It contains almost every character and it would’ve been a fulfilling conclusion to the series

I could say the same for ben 10, shaggy, and scooby doo. Did they get permission from cartoon network and hanna barbara to use them?
My favorite Thomas movie is Thomas and the Magic Railroad, for not only does it hold both nostalgia and wonder, but it's the very first time we see Thomas on the big screen (even despite some parts that had gone through a lot of drastic changes, I still loved it!).
Wonderful part of the documentary! As for my favorite Thomas movie, even though I love The Adventure Begins, I'm gonna have to go with Blue Mountain Mystery. Reason being: while it wasn't the first Thomas thing I ever saw, it was what got me into the franchise. I didn't start watching the series regularly till I was a little older (in 2012, to be precise). I decided to check it out, and it blew me away, with how good the writing, characters, and animation were, and the fact the story wasn't afraid to go dark. Afterwards, I went back to watch the rest of the series, starting from Seasons 13-16 (I was scared of the models at the time). I eventually plucked up courage to watch the classic series and loved it! Since I had only watched the classic series two years before The Adventure Begins came out, it touched me, but probably not as much as other fans, and without seeing Blue Mountain Mystery, I may not have ever become a Thomas fan in the first place.

My favourite Thomas special would be The Adventure Begins, followed by SLOTLT and Journey Beyond Sodor. However, I still enjoy Thomas and the Magic Railway because it was filmed on my home, the Isle of Man. In fact, a friend of mine had been given a cap of the film by the film crew, and she gave it to me, making it special.
40:50 I remember being really excited at the post credit scene with Diesel 10, though I believe I was disappointed as a kid at Day of the Diesels. But that might just be adult me reflecting a memory back.
My favorite special? That's a tough question. I'm very fond of Thomas and the Magic Railroad, because that's the reason why I fell in love with Thomas. It's still a guilty pleasure for me.

But we know it was not Britt Allcroft's fault, it's the test audiences and studio executives. Are you also still looking forward to the director's cut? It would kinda be a of a guilty pleasure and more of a fans' favorite.

Personally, my most favourite Thomas & Friends movie/special would have to be The Adventure Begins. This is one of the perfect examples of how classicstories should be modernized and told to the younger generation!

Although it proved extremely successful, we have to confess that our work looks primitive compared to the show as it exists now!”

Without a doubt, The Adventure Begins is my favorite Thomas Special, but since that was made especially for the 70th Anniversary, my favorite Thomas Special besides TAB is Sodor’s Legend of the Lost Treasure.

To be honest, I would have preferred if they scanned the original models for CGI instead of recreating them
If they rescanned, there would be no scaling differences or inaccuracies. Thomas should have been scanned from one of his TGD brass models (the one with the smokebox the same size as the boiler), and Percy should have been scanned from one of his Season 10 brass models, with the others being scanned from their brass models, with some changes made:
Thomas, Percy, James, and Edward’s funnels are made to resemble the one from Percy’s TATMR brass model
Percy’s whistle shares the same whistle shape as Thomas’ whistle
The engines now have cab controls inside like their close-up models
From the Thomas model scanned, his whistle is more aligned than the actual model
The Narrow Gauge engines would also been scanned from their small scale models with the same measurements as them instead of their real life counterparts from the Talyllyn Railway
Jack would still keep his round face instead of having a square face
IDK if this would have gone in well with the CGI series, but what if they scanned the original resin faces for the engines to also use
According to Thomas Wiki, the Jack and the Pack miniseries was also skipped in Japan (not counting the series 6 episodes Jack Jumps in and A Friend in Need), meaning Japanese audiences likely thought Monty debuted in The Great Discovery.
