@@marker6814 it's quite a hard question to answer to be honest. I think that all the family have a very ambivalent approach to it in the fact they're proud of the world wide success that the series has achieved but don't necessarily approve of the direction it took at times and I'm sure the latest incarnation of Thomas must have their stomachs turning.
It might be a coincidence, but it does make me wonder if some of the Thomas and Friends characters(Both book and TV) were named after Awdry's family members. Like Elizabeth, Thomas, James, Edward, George, Emily,
The piece starts of well , mentioning the Corbetts in connection to Sooty & Sweep , then goes off into the realms of unknown and unheard of creations that were never shown on TV or widely known here .

What about Wilbert Awdry’s grandchildren and great grandchildren?
I could not find any extra information about them. Perhaps they prefer to keep their privacy.
