- When giant panda cub Bei Bei called for help after climbing high up a tree, his mother Mei Xiang rescued him by coaxing him down gently step by step. At the David M. Rubenstein Family Giant Panda Habitat on February 8, 2016.

Panda babies are so like human babies. I wish humanity would learn to respect the life on this earth other than ourselves.

Mei Xiang is an unbelievable mother. The best ive seen. She is definitely mother of a life time. Incredible calm patience and love. A joy watching her raise these Cubs.

Mei Xiang is really a great mother! She won't drag down her panda cub from the tree like some of the panda mothers do 😂, but instead, she is there to protect and help her baby💕

Dragging and pushing the cubs help make them stronger. And I don’t think Bei Bei _wants_ to get down at all. He sees her and knows she is going to make him come down.

The baby got a 'hot touch' on the yard wiring - you can Google the story - and ran up the tree where it rained all night. His Mom waited below and that's why you hear such relief in the folks' voices. Love seeing this! 💞

Yes, I agree! I didn't think he was ready to come down either! Right around :21-:23, it was clear he was still playing in the tree and not ready to come down.😊

"Bei, if you don't get down out of that tree right now, I told you playtime is over for now!" (Although, just about everything pandas do, including these two, looks like playing! They are just so cute and cuddly!🐼🐼
+Bayouma777 We can now see how much that baby doll panda loves his tree's. He would stay up there all day if it was not for Mommy Mei and the keepers. Mei really surprised me last week, when she herself climbed a tree. I guess she was letting her little precious treasure know, Mommy can climb up there and get you, if she has to.
Pretty sure he wanted to come down - he was making distress calls to his mother. He doesn't make them for no reason.
+sprinklefriend You may be correct, but he seemed like he wanted to climb higher out of Mom's clutches. Who knows for sure and I have to remind myself that this was the very first time that little baby doll panda climbed a tree. I occasionally get to see him when he first comes outside in the morning. After he has his training and some treats, he runs to his tree. Just this morning, he didn't take time to finish chewing his treat so he took it in his mouth with him up the tree. He looked so sad when he dropped it. He did come down to look for it with no success but without wasting much time, he hurried up his other favorite tree. I love watching him. It makes my heart and soul happy💖🐼💖

The reason being is they have to pay a fee from China to be able to have pandas in the USA. When they are weaned they have to go according to the agreement both countries have
