Wow. You can see the intelligence of the famous Meng Lan, AKA escape artist. So curious , thoughtful, and adventurous. Thoughtful, as evidenced by not approaching nanny with the usual headlong cubbie trot bc he understands she is moving him out of the way for a reason. I truly believe on a panda scale he has an extraordinary IQ with a superior understanding. Not to say he doesn’t do the cubbie trot in other situations but I believe he was weighing the options when he approached the likewise adorable Mei.
I love the fact this lady just picks up a Panda like a rag doll then carries it off, drops it off with a pat on the bum only for it to keep come back! Such a cheeky and naughty little panda.🐼😊

Pandas are heavier and protected by their thick coats, thus the lady can be a little rough when handling the cub. Of course, if the cub was a human baby, the nanny would be much more gentle.

There are so many people said that the lady was rude. But panda is bear and not delicate as human baby, they usually fall down from trees but still play happily. Stop judging just from appearance. Certainly there can be no reason that I'm able to see that letting the little guy play in a pile of leaves would hurt anything. When I was visiting this park about 10 years ago, there was this big grown up panda climbing a tree, it was pretty high up, when it slipped and fell to the ground. All of the visitors were very worried, but the staff member nearby didn’t rush to check on it and was just watching instead. The panda got back up, sneezed and went to eat or something, the staff turned to us and waved his hand to tell everyone not to worry. I’m pretty sure some pushing around is not hurting those big guys

There are so many people said that the lady was rude. But panda is bear and not delicate as human baby, they usually fall down from trees but still play happily. Stop judging just from appearance. They are cute but this does not means nanny should play with them without doing her job. This lady has worked for many years and it is clear that pandas love her.

Certainly there can be no reason that I'm able to see that letting the little guy play in a pile of leaves would hurt anything. Dogs and kids love jumping in a big pile of leaves...and so does our cat. "Little Guy" would be no different. And, any idea about what the abuse is all about??? I haven't see any...have you???

I heard that all the caretakers have zoology degrees that allow them to wok with the pandas. So Nanny Mei isn’t a “maid.” She’s a scientist that cares for pandas.

When I was visiting this park about 10 years ago, there was this big grown up panda climbing a tree, it was pretty high up, when it slipped and fell to the ground. All of the visitors were very worried, but the staff member nearby didn’t rush to check on it and was just watching instead. The panda got back up, sneezed and went to eat or something, the staff turned to us and waved his hand to tell everyone not to worry. I’m pretty sure some pushing around is not hurting those big guys
