#10 "They determined to use the zipper method on merge in lanes to reduce congestion. I determined to not let them because saving a car length's delay meant more to me
It amazes me that people will sit in a single file queue for miles with an empty lane next to them because they think it's like being at the post office. Zipper merging gets everyone there quicker, they should put it on the driving test. Can't bear the lane police.
Absolutely. I was going tosam something similar. Just let him zipper in. It's not going to make any difference to your day, and it is a totally unnecessary ego battle . Any who's driven in Europe will know that's how it works. They are taught to zipper in . No ego battles, no road rage . It keeps traffic moving .
@@essa6315 Simple merge in turn; use all the road space. Both drivers then get all hairy chested and territorial, so funny.
and they got in in the end anyway lol!
@@essa6315 it all comes down to using common sense. If the traffic is already flowing nice just keep with the flowing traffic, If its slowing right down and building up use the merge in turn. I
Guy i work with id a fucking nightmare for it. i ve been with him when he insisted he had to use the merge in turn he basically accelerated past 1 car than had break quite hard to move in. all he did was disrupt the flow more than if he just stayed behind the car in front of him.. He still tried to argue its better for the traffic even tho he basically caused everyone behind to have to slow down because he broke so hard.
4:42 #10 I think you will find that its MERGE IN TURN. Thats what that big arrow is for. They are actually at the point of the merge in turn and are ahead of you. So its YOU that is pushing in. Just because you decided to sit in that lane rather than use the merge in turn doesn't mean its your right of way.
the arrow is pointing to the left lane. He is pushing in
It doesn’t matter which way the arrow is pointing, it is still a merge point. The cammer closed the space to prevent the merge, the car driver tried forcing the issue along solid lines, both as bad as each other
In fact, I will provide the relevant wording from the TSRGD 2016 to avoid any doubt
--
Diagram 1014
(a) Direction in which vehicular traffic should pass a road marking shown at item 7, 11 or 23 of the sign table in Part 6 of Schedule 9 or at item 23, 24 or 25 of the sign table in Part 4 of this Schedule;
(b) obstruction on the carriageway ahead;
(c) reduction in the number to traffic lanes in the carriageway ahead; or
(d) path to be taken by vehicular traffic to avoid a route available for tramcars only
--
In terms of (a), this would be the double white lines in the road and the arrow is advising all vehicles to proceed to the left of those lines. Then (c) is relevant as two lanes are becoming one, thus being a merge point. Something a few drivers out there fail to recognise
@@bensweddingvideosHave you seriously spent all this time driving thinking those arrows mean ‘give way’?
@@bensweddingvideosSorry to bother you but could you please tell me where you got your driving license from? … 😂😂😂
#10 - Fails to allow a car to merge in turn correctly. Cries like a baby that they are pushing in. I would respectfully ask the submitter to hand in their license and stick to public transfort from now on.
Looks to be a tall vehicle too so a bus or HGV, supposed professional driver who doesn't know the basic rules around merging. I'd suggest this driver get a job in Tesco instead but can't imagine their massive yet fragile ego will fit through the door.
This happens all the time, even when stated to use both lanes when merging 😂
There wasn’t any sign that there were two lanes of traffic merging into one at the point at which the car indicated.
More likely there was one lane of traffic that had already merged together.
The car could see this, and chose to ignore the road marking’s several hundred metres prior to the cammer’s clip indicating that the lanes were merging.
Instead the car sailed past the line of merged traffic, taking no action until it was absolutely necessary, thereby avoiding having to wait in line.
The car didn’t break the HC. However it was discourteous, disrespectful and thoroughly un-British. This is not how we won the war. The car was a cad of the worst shade. Undoubtedly it would have sided with the stormtrooper’s in the event of an invasion in 1939, if only to ensure a better parking spot at work.
@thesleeplessmn What is that big arrow on the road then if it isn’t saying merge? 🤔
@@smilerbob lol all those words and the drongo didn't even bother if what he was typing was correct
How embarrassing.
Clip number 12 sums up perfectly where we are as a society in 2024. We can’t even agree a way to let each other through on a narrow road.
Yeah both just being stubborn dickheads, Sometimes its easy to give up your right of way in situations like this if it makes it easier for everyone. Road i drive basically every day il have right of way but just waiting at the end of road flashing everyone through just saves so much time. Means i'm not squeezing past the cars that have pulled in and they don't need to try and pull i n tight spaces to let me past. Soon as the those cars are past the parked cars i have nice easy straight run down the road.
Both need to grow up.
Not to mention the clip shows someone plugging in a seatbelt then moving to wear it incorrectly...
Gotta love the 'thanks' at the end. Perfect. 😂
what i don't understand is, why didnt the black car, just move forword a bit, so his rear end was straight and inline with the parked traffic, woulda made it a whole lot smoother, he did it at the end, no reason he shouldnt of done it at the start.
Number 10 being a proud little soldier defeating the highway code literate hoards from following the rules of the road. How dare they use merge in turn in the way it is supposed to be used. Tune in next week when he blocks a lane on a motorway that merges in 800 yards. The lords work I tell you, the lords work.
Lord's...
#12 was weird by both drivers
Exactly.
Everyone blames the audi driver because "he's a chav" but the fella pulled in from the left and couldn't see round the parked cars.
Van driver has a clear view right down the road but still insists on driving and expects the audi to either float over him or drive all over the pavement.
No, car could've gone up on the footpath, as he started to do.
@@clare2401 No, everyone blames the audi driver because he's a fucking tool who can't drive sensibly.
Van was already committed to his maneuver when he came speeding into the top end of the road without looking to see if it was clear or not. He had already decided that if someone was there then they're just going to have to move for him like he attempted in the clip. All the audi driver had to do was to mount the CLEAR footpath a couple more metres (just like he ended up doing) to allow the van to continue and it all would have been over and done with without the audi twat hopping out of his car and trying to open the van drivers front door...
So not only did he dangerously enter the road, he is uninsured (check his plate number onine), he tried to intimidate another motorist and he wears little boys school trousers to drive in (perhaps the biggest crime of all was this cunts fashion sense).
2:30: Eddie Stobart Lorry exiting left from lane 2: This is potentially one of the worst and most dangerous bit of HGV driving I have seen uploaded in a long time - either the HGV slows and pulls in behind the cars in lane 1 or misses the exit. To accelerate in lane 2 and then pull into the exit across the front of a car in lane 1 forcing it to brake - unbelievable. How the HGV driver thought this manoeuvre was safe, driving an HGV - or any vehicle - is beyond me.
Or, you know, the car could actually be doing something to make progress on the motorway, instead of driving dangerously slow.
Making progress or not, that was highly dangerous. Do you have a licence, or are you the moron in the last clip? I didn't think it was possible to upvote yourself twice!
@@FoxyTunes It's irrelevant that the car was driving slow. The lorry has put lives in danger with that manoeuvre. Lorry should have just waited and gone behind.
It's not irrelevant at all. The car was driving dangerously slow for a motorway. Not only that, but the car driver brakes for no reason at all, had he not, he would have been in front of the truck and the lorry could have gone behind the car. For the lorry to go behind the car, he'd have had to have come to an almost complete stop, which as you seem to like pointing it out, is dangerous and it would have taken the lorry longer to get going.
Whoever is driving that car was either doing it on purpose or isn't fit to drive. The car driver has put people at anger by driving needlessly slow.@@northernrogue1
@FoxyTunes Look at the motorway signs, looks like speed was restricted prior to that NSL sign which the car was adhering to, unlike the lorry driver
#10. It's not pushing in, its called merge in turn, which a lot of truckers seem to have a problem with.
I got a problem with it too. Why should I let someone jump ahead of me if Ive been patiently queuing with everybody else.
@@Matthew-iq6yt It's people like you who cause the long tailbacks for not using both lanes. I suggest you read the highway code and retake your test.
@@Matthew-iq6ytbecause the whole point of merging is to improve traffic flow and reduce traffic building up. Numpties like you with that attitude and lack of understanding for the highway code are the biggest burdens on the road and mostly the reason for people having queue in traffic.
maybe you should consider following the rules of the road correctly like they are, instead of whining like a little baby. Use all lanes available and merge in turn where signs indicate to do so. Psst, #10.....you're supposed to let cars merge. I wonder sometimes how many people keep up to date with the Highway Code after they've passed their driving tests? I bought the current edition because I wanted to see how the new hierarchy of road users worked: not sure how it works if you're coming off a roundabout into a residential street though and a pedestrian is waiting to cross? It doesn't seem to cover that.

@@HowardLeVertsometimes it’s better to ignore it, apparently they’ve just updated it to give pedestrians who have not entered the highway right of way even when not at a zebra crossing? @@lolitapitpong3826 They haven't "just" updated it. The most recent update was in September and doesn't mention pedestrians. #10 'Determined to push in' - Really? Its a merge in turn lane and the driver had no right to block that merge.
Countless times I’ve passed mothers pushing buggies phone in hand staring down at it whilst their young children run way ahead near main roads. Putting their child at serious risk and potentially ruining the life of the unfortunate driver whose car that child runs in front of.
Or allowing someone to snatch their kids. U worked in a cafe and wpuld watch mothers let their kids run off around corners, completely out of sight. I've actually gone to check on them before becasue I was concerned something bad might hapoen.
I see it every day. Mothers priority these days seem to be
1) Mobile phone
2) Baby
In that order.
No disagreement but I can’t see any evidence that happened here.
Unfortunately young children like this can be very unpredictable and decide to bolt. The mother might seem calm but she’s pushing a heavy pushchair with another child in it, and clearly gives the child a talking to afterwards.
It’s easy to say well just keep them on a harness or hold their hand, but they in themselves can be challenging to manage especially if you have a pushchair, and there is a point where a child starts becoming more independent and is given some trust, which backfires.
In short, I now always expect a toddler to fly out into the road at any moment so drive extremely carefully down roads with restricted visibility (eg parked cars), and if I see a young child walking along any pavement I am on tenterhooks until I’m safely past - as indeed any driver should be.
@@SgtSlapmaster I totally agree with your point and indeed the mother in this video didn’t seem to be on her phone. I was just reminded of how often I have seen what I described above in many cases.

#3 The truck driver was so busy waving at the fast lane drivers that they were probably being distracted by him rather than able to take notice of the "blue lights" behind them.
I dunno if someone is waving and beeping I always look around to see if it’s to give people a heads up of a hazard. With this theory you’d be saying that a crossing is distracting cause the lights are flashing and there’s beeping. People need to be more aware of their surroundings you should be able to drive safely in any conditions.
@@ChaseWilder People expect flashing lights and beeping at a crossing. We learn exactly what it means as children, before we even read the highway code. 12 at 5:37 the cammer has a choice. The Audi is already alongside its parked vehicle and the cam car is not - the cam car can duck in behind the estate, or if he wants a tight squeeze then carry on. #10 the only problem here is your ego, merge in turn, use all the road available. In a bigger vehicle i'd expect much better understanding of the road. I used to have this mentality when I was young and learning to drive but would never expect it from someone driving professionally
#10 needs to learn to drive better. It's not your bit of road, no need to defend it so staunchly, ease off the accelerator for a split second, they'd have slotted in and cost you nothing.
The Last guy recording the video is a jobs worth! not the guy who came around the corner!
Are you the idiot that turned the corner too quickly?
3:10 I've heard them called some things, but never "crossed road flashings" before.
What should they be called?
@davecoop9579 Diagonal stripes is their correct name as per HWC.
@@aitch8237 Thank you

Clip 12, 5:37, audi is committed and cam car is at a point they could stop as not past the first parked car on the left yet, yet decides to drive into a situation where it will block the Audi.
Where did you expect the audi to go when you met it in the middle? And why is your attitude saying you should be going first?
Why waste your time when audi doesnt move to make way for you and just sit there when you could reverse back, solve the problem and make it a non event?
Because the other car was an Audi, all the reason you need.
Shocking how the people with cameras have such bad observations or a bit of a chip on there shoulders in all these videos 😂
#3 When you're trying to help but make the situation much worse....
04:45 Alan, that is called merge in turn mate.
Yup, although he clearly doesn't understand how the concept works 😂
#3 Pretty sure the police car could have turned on their sirens if they needed to. Gesticulating from your truck just confused those drivers.
How often should you look in your mirrors though? Once every ten minutes?
Just because you look every 10 minutes doesn’t mean everyone else does. I check every few seconds @petersylvester2905
@@PS-fl7etr/woooosh
Cammer certainly didn't help the situation by distracting the drivers. Leave the blue light driver to deal with the situation, that's what they are trained for.
Some very good examples of bad driving and as for the Audi driver probably hasn't got a licence.
Well handled by cam driver
Not excusing the Audi chav in clip 12, but the cammer also had opportunity to stop before the estate car prior to the roadworks…
#3 all he's doing is completely distracting the other driver from looking in their mirrors. To busy watching some weirdo wave his hand around.
4:40 - cool of you to let the car merge in turn like a normal human would, Alan.
No12* was the Audi driver meant to reverse out onto another road? The car recording had plenty of opportunity to wait whiles he comes through
2:40 That Stobart lad is a magician, I have no idea how that was physically possible
so heres an unpopular oipinion number 12 should have stopped as soon as the Audi driver pulled in to the T Junction as 12 didnt know how big the space was with the 2 cars on the right, and as the audi driver was coming into the junction from a main road he couldnt very well reverse back onto said main road, has 12 stopped at 5:36 once he seen Audi driver then this issue wouldnt have happened and the Audi could have passed on the dropped kerb stopping any issues with his lowered car
#3 Seems to think he owns the road and is the best driver.
It is annoying when as a car driver you see blue lights behind and people don't move, on dual carriageways and motorways a lot of drivers seem to forget to check their mirrors, that said he's got a better view from on high in his cab, with all his arm waving and gesticulating out of the window drivers would have wondered what he was doing, he could have eased of the throttle a little so as they passed him quicker if he was that concerned and at the end he then pulls out in front of the silver car.
He seems to think people understand what flappy hands, pointy fingers and random horns mean. If it was me I'd be too busy wondering wtf he was doing to look in my mirrors, and would be deliberately not overtaking for the same reason.
Didn't sound like the police had the sirens on anyway??
@@doctorsatansrobot its not like they wouldnt be able to see the blue lights in their mirrors....which they should be checking regularly.
Yes, none of his business. His flapping his arm about and getting all agitated wasn't helping anyone...in fact very, very distracting. BTW who was holding his phone?..Surely wasn't driving a tipper truck one-handed and just happened to have phone in hand...?😅

#5 - Hope that "Professional" driver got sacked. Utterly inexcusable.
Totally agree.
Thanks
#12 "when the unstoppable force meets the immovable object"
OR
When two knuckle draggers would rather waste minutes to save face than waste seconds by backing down
Why should the cam car reverse all the way because the chav doesn't know how to give way?
@@YesiPleb because he ought to have better things to do than sit and argue for the sake of 5 seconds extra on his journey? Why are so many drivers obsessed with who's in the right or wrong or who had priority? Just let it go, be the "bigger man" and move on with your life. If matey in the Audi had pulled a knife would the cammer be martyred for his right of way? Of course not! But how many other clips do we see where people are risking a potentially fatal crash because they can't let their ego be hurt while they're behind the wheel...? It's the same mentality.
@@YesiPlebtell us where the audi driver touched you.

Watch the video a million times until you comprehend that the cam driver is a complete pillock
#10 Demonstrating a complete l ack of understanding of how zip merging works
2:52 Methinks you were tailgating as well.
Whatever happened to the two second rule
lol, the chav in the audi on the council estate lol
no.12 --why stop where there is a restriction in the road and whine at the Audi driver?
It was clear what was going on but didn't wait so they could pass easier.
#7 - surely setting an unreasonably low speed limit for the road is part of the issue.
# 12 driver should have waited as soon as he saw mr angry turn in to minor road. There was at that time plenty of room to let him advance and pass #12 without any confrontation. How could mr angry see the situation untill he turned into the minor road. No one should be made to reverse into any road at a junction.
5:40.. guy with the camera is in the wrong... obstacle is on his side, he's the one who should pull in...
Number Ten, pretty sure that was a filter lane. The driver should of slowed down to allow him in, the gap seemed clear.
A trucker waving his arms around frantically and smashing his horn for no reason taking away ALL THE ATTENTION of what's behind them. If he wanted to help. he should've slowed down to allow a quicker overtake from those vehicles.
Exactly. The truck driver was just distracting the driver's attention from what was behind them.
The ginge in the A3, sticking a dash cam up after moving into position, bless
Compilation of aggravated drivers be a better title!
10# Another "I cannot have another car merge in front of me" moment. Its called merging in for a reason... why do people get so childish with merging points, its not over taking or barging in, its called driving properly. More than likely 10# was mad because they sat in the same lane for a long amount of time and did not like it because the black car had common sense and used the lanes correctly. Man some drivers get so butt hurt over stupid things. xD
10 - Merge in turn or zip merging is what you're meant to do. If you're not using the available lanes then more fool you, read your highway code.
Came to the comments to see if every one was dunking on #10 and I was not disappointed haha
The guy doing the filming at 5.00 is lucky if he doesn’t get prosecuted for dangerous driving. Frustrating as it is there’s no excuse for forcing another driver into the path of oncoming traffic - imagine a head on with a couple of fatalities, would it have been worth that “little victory”?
