It's pretty obvious that many L3 players didn't know that you can't damage modern MBTs from a distance and the secret to defeating them is to get up right next to them so they can't shoot you.
No depression be like :

Forgot about the part where the modern tank drives way faster than the L3 so if you get under the gun they can just drive off

@@Arash_Leopard they have good enough depression but there has to be a hull man, only way to not have a blind spot is to not have a hull and the gun only 1cm above the ground

Depends on environment and spawns. If it's like the video with alot of turns and corners, then maybe. If the 12 year olds weren't all clumped up then definitely. Assuming 1 hit 1 kill (should be able to snap their necks with a single punch), the fighter could just stalk through the arena 1 tapping anyone they see before they can land a punch. If they group up, their chances are better since the fighter would get bogged down in bodies and they could claw at them and restrain their movement.

I think the biggest mistake for the modern veichles was not continuing to move. They would have had a lower chance of getting surrounded and yes while there is a 15 min time limit if you play your cards correctly you could still get them all
I think the opposite. The fact that they kept moving made it difficult to retain cohesion against the horde. They should have tried finding one good, defensible position and covering each other's flanks. The leading cause of death was the tank getting so close that there was no way for the larger to tanks to kill them without a teammate.

@@domschra yeah except that's not how they could excel. They had 4 freaking MBTs, they should have picked a section of the map that allowed them to hull down and force the L3s to come at them in one direction and at limited amounts.
I think if the people in the modern takes had repaired, it would have gone better for them

Skill issue vs Leclerc being among the worst protected MBT in the game
@Rosie leclerc worse protected top tier tank in the game+without thr urban kit it should have in this situation. (pliz gaijin when azure kit?)
Replace leclerc by VBCI 400 rounds/min with IA automated heat system, can kill any target acquired in 2-3 seconds max, means with 60 little italians the battle last 2min if they are all together. But yeah the armour will not survive this much, if only in the video they moved in formation like real life...

2:57 Can't help but to feel a bit sad for this little L3, which so unwaveringly makes his way to the back of the big one and then... gets stopped and _repelled_ by a lamp post. Damn lamp posts, the true menace for every tank!
Man it was really fun to take part in this event, the L3 horde was quite frightening considering how it killed that first MBT so quickly.

That final engagement looked like it was still quite tense for the MBTs. I'd be curious to see how a group of IFVs would get on, sure they have inferior armour, but their armament is much more suited to a swarm than the MBTs.
The tactics in the 3rd round looked pretty clever from the MBTs, the Abrams holding down a position, presumably as the best armoured it was the Arne "I'm over here, come on kill me" with the Leclerc and T72 in a crossfire position. We didn't see much of the 4th MBT but if that was in a position to reinforce wherever needed then the MBTs were making best use of their numbers.
Incredible, the L3 used almost 0.003% of its power
The abrams is the best tank for taking out 60l3s
It has 2 machine guns and a 5 sec reload for maximum damage.
It also has good reverse capability good armor on the sides.
Edit: the two machine guns are 50 cals so they can easily pen the l3.
Maybe not a tank,but Puma would be good too
And yet it was the only one that died in the final match. The Czech T72 was the most suited one

@@gustavosanches3454 To be fair to the Abrams, its player put it in a position that allowed it to get a lot more flak from the L3's than the other tanks. It wasn't really the fault of the tank in this case. It was poor positioning, poor luck, or both.
The biggest problem is the lack of collision mechanics. An L3 could be knocked out by a sideswipe lol. Also the 50 cal is the gun of choice. A T72 Terminator would be the best tank to use due to the rapid fire 30 mm and the grenade launchers. Failing that the Maus is the ultimate due to the L3 not even being able to damage anything at all.
An L3 have actually killed a Maus before through the main gun barrel.
It was in a phlydaily video of Maus vs 60 L3 if i remember correctly.
The Moderna, the leopard 2k , mbt70 and the amx30s would be very good with their 20mm and 30mm added to their main cannon,
Like packs of wolves trying to take out mooses! That was awesome and the including of the Spider-Man 2 version of the Funiculi Funincula song just made it extra meme worthy!
The biggest mistakes the modern vehicles made were in positioning and coordination. Instead of sitting in a wide open area with multiple lines of approach, they should find a spot where the L3s can't easily outflank them, preferably also with their back and sides covered by stuff. Or failing that, keep outrunning the L3s and keep them at a distance. Heck, if one MBT parked in a corner with their back and one of their sides covered, they could just have another park right next to them to act as several meters of armour.
That was possibly the most fun/intimidating battle I have ever been in

probably the best strategy to take out a modern tank with L3's is probably to go to the back and keep causing engine fires after taking out tracks

Something I think would really add to the videos would be a counter of the remaining swarm vehicles (in this case the L-3s or in the TU-4 video the biplanes)

It was cool watching l3/33’s immediately rushing to get under the guns and just rapid fire at point blank range for as long as possible
The more frustrating it was to see that one L3 _almost_ making it to the back of the MBT at 2:57 already and then... getting not just stopped, but _repelled_ by a lamp post. :D

Fantastic idea for new video!
Watching the German tanks get cocky and then getting overwhelmed was the by far the best match.
I noticed in the last match the modern tanks weren't working together properly. If on the defensive they could have just let the tanks come to them and not have to deal with so many near a cap point. The more they took out the less they'd have to deal with. Pushing the spawn just ensured their loss.
This is honestly the best War Thunder video ever.
And these are able to be mass produced and upgunned with modern materials, which could make the l3 a highly effective combat vehicle
Not really. AT missiles and such would obliterate them, not to mention air power. Even with modern materials and weapons, you cannot up armor and up gun them enough while keeping the same size to have them be survivable.

I think the tip here is keep moving, move move move, destroy everything in your path, do not stop, reverse, aim and fire. Just keep moving. Ram them if you have to they will be destroyed lol

I'm being reminded of a specific scene from an anime that involves tanks, as the L3's ram up against the larger vehicle.
What the military needs is a bunch of electric RC L3 type of tanks and ambush like a bunch of mosquitoes

I'd expect WW2 era heavies (KV-1, Churchull, Tiger 1) to be successfull in this challenge, unlike MBTs, these have 60+ mm of armor in every direction.
And if this won't work, try soviet heavies from 1950s. IS-7 would be great, with it's insane armor and 14,2 mm machine gun. HE shell from it's main gun would be capable of taking out multiple L3s at once.
Yeah, Tiger is tough to take out even with a 57mm.

Dude, realistically, a couple of hobos with Molotov cocktails can take out any tank in a city environment, especially if they manage to stop/track it beforehand. A couple molotovs on the engine hatch and you can say adios

The moment the L3s can charge and get under the guns it's kinda over, it's like ants overpowering a predator. I think tanks with auto cannons are probably the best off, like the moderna or maybe even the Is 7 with the massive amount of HMGs.

Before even adjusting for the fact that the L3s are mostly noobs vs veterans tank crew for the modern tanks....The game mechanics really work against the L3s. They repeatedly took out components (like the engine) that continued to work. Likewise, there would be ammo "cook offs" that didn't actually remove ammo from the more modern tanks. Not to mention that a "real" tank crew wouldn't burn alive for 45 seconds just to save fire extinguishers and continue calmly as normal.

You know everything would be cool but also a nightmare to deal with in the game if they had armor degradation meaning after each shot if you shoot the same place multiple times with the gun that can't get through eventually because it's destroying the armor and that one spot it's able to get through it because each time you shot it removes more and more the armor I think that would be really cool to add but very frustrating cuz imagine having a vehicle that normally cannot be pinned and then having just a thousand rounds or more of the shot at that same as that spot and it eventually just getting through it it would be really cool but annoying and I think they'd be a pain in the ass for the developers to to model that in so maybe it's a good thing that that doesn't happen but it's kind of sad it doesn't really make it fully realistic
