I was watching your video, and when you reached the Hyundai, you said that there was nothing to hook up to. The front bumper has a small square opening. Pop that cover and take the tow hook out of the trunk of the Hyundai and thread it in to the nut inside and hook your winch up to that.

For future reference there is a tow hook that screws into the front bumper it’s a little cover it pops out and the tow hook is in where the spare tire is so you always have a something to hook to on the front of Hyundai @Matt’s OffRoad Recovery

Maybe that car shouldn't have been out there, but they were a heck of a lot better prepared than most of the people you pull out. AWD, chains, traction boards, spare gas, plenty of food/water, and once you got it out of the high-center it looked like it handled the vast majority of that road pretty darn well. Another couple inches of clearance and they would likely have been in good shape all the way through.

Matt, a helpful hint as far as the mud on your clothes: buy yourselves a few cases of tyvek jump suits to keep on hand. Harbor Freight has them or any home improvement store that sells painting supplies. They usually cost from $9 to $15 apiece. You wear them over your clothes when working in the mud, then they easily tear off and you throw them away. We use them at work all of the time. You'll thank me later! As far as winching eating alternators, yes they do. I have double batteries on my truck to store up the extra power capacity needed and they make it a lot easier on the alternator. Plus it makes it much harder to get stranded due to depending upon one single battery. Also, investing in a satellite phone for when you are too far out to have cell phone coverage might be a good idea? Thanks for your entertaining videos. Much better than watching anything on TV!

I'm an Australian who bought a $700 Subaru and drove it 5500miles around America. We delaminated a tyre between Williams and Flagstaff. I thought 'No, problem, I was smart and checked that we had a spare', went to change it, wrong bloody stud pattern. My mate asked what are we going to do and I said 'I took the wheel off, you have first shift carrying it. I knew in the back of my head the walk wouldn't be long but we didn't even walk 100yards before this lovely couple in their 60's pulled over in a big gorgeous F-350. They had just come from Flagstaff and could see the gate to their ranch, but they turned around and took us into Flagstaff. They did make sure to let us know they had a handgun, but that would not happen here in Oz, and if it did, you would of walked way more than 100yards.

You guys are great. Entertainment media has needed some nice wholesome reality like your channel for so long, and the nice thing is that the one thing that seems to have been driving your ever increasing popularity, is you just being genuine and doing what you do best and filming it. I watch your channel, Fab Rats, Robby Layton, Merlin's old school garage, and Rudy's adventure and design religiously! Watching all you guys's videos has been the single most inspiring thing to learn new ways of creating that I've experienced in my entire life. at 53 years old I've finally learned to weld. I was inspire to learn from watching you guys, and every time I watch you guys building vehicles I learn more on how to build my own off-road rig, AND how to effectively off-road it! I spent 20 years in the U.S. Army with 6 deployments. Having experienced that I feel like I have a fairly decent understanding of quality of character in a person (at least from my perspective, whatever that's worth). You guys all set an amazing example to your fans on how to never give up, to think your way through obstacles, and accomplish what you set out to do, even when things get difficult. Thank you for the entertainment, but also the inspiration you give me with every one of your videos! Please never stop making them!

Jamie here’s a short story that should make the muddy clothes seem not so bad. My friend was an egg farmer and one day while setting up the tractor to pump out the liquid waste tank he fell in. First off, he was very lucky that he didn’t die as there is little oxygen in the air directly above the liquid and he was lucky enough to to be able to pull himself out. He took off all his clothes outside before he came in to shower which was beside the house entrance, but the reek! Chicken and turkey waste smells are the worst. The smell stayed with him for several weeks as the “scent of a farmer” in the house did. The clothes dried and burnt. Matt have you found a 140 amp alternator?
