Due to the stunning visuals Sniper Elite 5 is an absorbing WW2 experience while also being accessible to casual players and those that enjoy stealth / sniping games due to the ridiculous amount of flexibility in the difficulty settings. It may not quite live up to Sniper Elite 4 in certain areas, but it's wide appeal and deep discounts when on sale should make it a serious consideration to anyone with a vague interest in Stealth, Shooters, or WW2 based games. Are you considering a purchase? Would you recommend any DLCs for new players?
Agreed
I had Sniper Elite V2 and Sniper Elite 3 on my xbox and then i had Sniper elite 4 on my laptop, and this has far by been one of my most favourite series of games out there to play. The WW2 theme with the open world scenario as that of Assassin's Creed and the massive missions like those of Hitman give the games a different flavour altogether. yeah, the missions at times get too lengthy, as i aim to get all collectibles and finish all optional objectives, which make any mission atleast 2.5-3 hrs long, it does not get boring at all. The best part of the games are that there isn't any single way or sequence of doing a mission, with multiple ways of beginning and ending as well as skipping a part of the game to complete it at a later time, makes it so flexible. The models of the characters could have been made more realistic in accordance with the environment, but in the end that hardly matters, according to me.
In all, i'd just suggest everyone else to just give the game a go, and as rightly mentioned at the end, one can always go for a previous version to just get the idea of the game for cheap and then get the 5th version. i have my purchase planned as well, so hopefully the game goes on sale soon!!
Thanks for the video, keep it up...
❤
@SamanyuKaushal You've perfectly described my experience with the game too! I found the maps and setting were interesting to explore, I really felt like I was on a beach in northern France just before D-day. I was also surprised how accessible the game was so I think casual players who might be scared off by the stealth and sniping would actually really enjoy it!
Looks like there is a 70% discount right now, bargain!
This was an absolutely incredible video. You did an amazing job and deserve so much more recognition than you are getting.
@OneRubberDuck Thank you! I hope it was useful. The occasional nice comment is all the recognition I need, you've made my day!
Keep up the great work. Always happy to see new stuff of yours.
@Kevin-wc2wm thanks for the support my friend, it means a lot! All suggestions for future videos are welcome anytime
Awesome video and I love your style of review. I've completed SE4 on easy mode and absolutely love it. Came here for thoughts on the sequel and you've more than answered any questions. Thank you for your time and effort. Very polished, precise and informative opinion. Big thumbs up!
@NcboreasVapes Thank you my friend, I hope it was useful! Have you decided to make a purchase of SE5? It's a cool game, glad I played it
Great Video! Played the 2nd and 3rd Part, always considered to return. might give it a shot after your video and with teh discount.
@sd_league Thank you! The discounts are almost too good to ignore now, I suspect you wouldn't regret it. Sniper Elite 4 is also dirt cheap and a fantastic game!
thank you - excellent review :)
@stevelock6015 Thank you! I'm glad it was useful :)
Splinter Cell in WW2? Count me in.
Always wondered about these games and I appreciate the suggestion for get SE4 rather than splash out. Good idea!
@thefreak1982 Splinter Cell is such a good comparison, wish I'd thought of that! Both 4 and 5 are dirt cheap right now too
I've been looking into the pricing issue because the game is on sale now. First of all, the Wolf Mountain pack is included in the Season 1 pack, and second, the Season 2 pack has two missions (Kraken Awakes and Rough Landing). But the really weird thing is, if you buy the deluxe edition plus the season 2 pass, it comes in at £7 less than the Complete Edition. As far as I can tell there's no other content apart from what's been made available free. If you wanted all the missions regardless of the weapons and cosmetics, that would still be the cheapest way to buy it, as it's about £6 cheaper than the base game plus all mission packs. All just a quirk of the discounting rates, but worthwhile for anyone else thinking of buying now.
@lordrosemount thank you for the additional info, very useful! If not slightly confusing why they've done it...
100% worth it. I was very very very sceptic about this game. But it one of th ebest game!
@unbeastable957 glad to hear it! Such a cool game
Your glazing tutorials really, *really* pushed my painting skills forward. I'm still not great at painting eyes but hey, they actually look like eyes now!
One question, though - Are you thinning the washes when you use them as a glaze, or are you working with them straight from the pot? Many thanks in advance!
Lol this comment is in the wrong place bro, but it's happened to me too once or twice and rather imbarracing I must say 🤣😂🤣
Just bought this game yesterday for a huge discount, ive played all and all are good in there own ways and im realy enjoying no 5, i hope theres a no 6 👍, i love open world games where ur free to do anything in ur own way and time, invading someone elses game sounds awesom and a challenge though ive switched that off for now to first gain experience and all the other good stuff before i give that a go, its a brilliant idea i think and could be alot of fun at another level im sure 😜👌
@frednel4326 it's great to hear a fan of the series enjoying this entry. I personally think it's a great game, even though I'm not a fan of stealth games, the ww2 immersion is simply awesome !
@@twiglets2 yes im not too much for stealth games either but SE has always had a fun factor to it that most anyone would enjoy, no 3 and 4 were epic and I've played them all so much and now there's this one too lol, and it's got alot more to do so prolly be the one ill play most 👌
After platinuming this game twice (ps4, ps5), with vast available knowledge and experience I got, I say this is a very good game, although SE4 I consider being better title; the fifth instalment is definitely worth your time and dedication, it pays out with lots of great fun and rather unique game (sub)genre and the experience itself.
It's refreshing to hear a fan of SE4 enjoying SE5, even if ultimately you think 4 was better. Many simply say SE5 is terrible which I think is unfair
@@twiglets2 loud people likes polarisation I guess; such a good piece of coding like SE5 simply cannot be described as 'poor' or 'terrible' ;) I prefer SE4 as it is more consistent and I find level design more well-thought and tested, in SE5 it is often too simple or too contrived.
I played SE5 a lot on gamepass and had a blast, I wanted to buy it later, but the DLC prices turned me off big time. Still, it's more accessible than SE4, which is a great deal, if it's on salke and very similar to 5.
Also, does anybody know if you can transfer the progression from the gamepass version to steam?
@aspicboat I've played it on Xbox gamepass too but had the same problem with other games where I don't want to buy the DLCs via Xbox because they're way more expensive than on steam. As far as I'm aware from other games there isn't a way to transfer your progress.
Although I love gamepass I guess in many ways it's a glorified way of demo-ing a game before I actually buy it on steam!
I've played all of SE series and the only one I didn't enjoy playing was SE3. SE5 has a bit of learning curve but once you understand the game by playing a few levels it's quite enjoyable to play.
@davidwang4680 do you think the more open world style of se5 was a good move?
@@twiglets2i enjoy playing games that can go for several hours so I quite like the open world style. More places to venture and explore.
Yes it is & I have ideas for a SE 6 if rebellion does it
@user-tk6mp9nq5t ohh? What feature would you introduce to SE 6?
The battle of the bulge front and stopping German field marshal walther model and assassinate him I would like to see the bulge story introduced in SE 6 long story short I want see Karl kill the German spies and stop them from sabotaging the American lines and stop the production and launch of a nuclear missle and a feature I like to see is Karl climbing rocks
@@user-tk6mp9nq5t I'd play that, very cool!
@@twiglets2 yes and I do wish SE 5 had the trip mine tho like other games that trap was lethal
I enjoyed the game
@aranerem5569 Glad to hear it my friend!
Karl's motion capture actor is just some random.. dad?
@liskeke yep! Well... That's what he looks like but he's some kind of ex special forces dude who specialises in ww2 hand to hand combat training. Or something like that! I think he works in movies mostly
The smooooothest voice on youtube did it again 😉🥰
@djwindkind why thank you!
I platinumed 4 then 2, then 3 then 5, hardmode is hard lol (Authentic)
@mdfkrz79 Then you have far more skill and patience than I do!
I was surprised at how flexible the game is, at easier difficulties a casual player can just play the way they want. I assume you're happy with the authentic difficulty?
@@twiglets2 I started going for platinums when I got my PS5, the Sniper Elite games were more about perseverance lol You get used to the difficulty after the first couple of maps, and it's required for the platinum 😄
Wow. I consider SE4 authentic as ass kicking as hell.
@@ennuiarduous6446 Perseverance required 😄
@@ennuiarduous6446 To be fair, there were a couple of times where hiding in an enclosed space and killing whoever walked through the opening after alerting everyone got me through, leaving pile of bodies in one place 😄
they should have added a disguise system
@maronidiskostas4575 ooo yeah that would've been cool
Might have had a bit too much Hitman DNA if they went that route.
@@willardjoee true true, maybe someone will make a mod so we can give it a try
Why are you reviewing the two games im debating over.. now im confused again! Anno vs this hmmmm
@purpleAiPEy that's an interesting mix! If it helps, Anno 1800 has way more longevity than Sniper Elite 5, which is a fun game but anno has the ability to keep you interested for a long long time with a tonne of dlc!
@@twiglets2 True, co op is also a factor. This is on console by the way, and anno is finally on sale, (which they did a great job of porting over).
@@purpleAiPEy ah yes of course, the co-op! Both games are pretty awesome, I was surprised how immersive sniper elite 5 was, I think they did a great job with the maps, making you feel like you're in France
SE3 SE4 great story line, limited my shots, pick-up corps, and get to the sniper's nest very helpful above all the ultimate and eñjoyful to play SE5 I don't like the story line can't understand it have to eliminate hitler at sendari island, SE4 whereas SE5 had to eliminate wolfpack mountain
For algorithm 🎉
@FinnishCommando For the algorithm! (Thank you)
@@twiglets2 I really like your channel. Just found it today. Subscribed. Merry Christmas ☮️
@@Finnish69 and to you my friend!
Sniper (3 i think) was at least worth my time downloading and installing cracked.
Denovo so I'll never know. 🏴☠️
Judging from this video alone, it looks like a Walmart version of MGS V Phantom Pain, which isn't a bad thing
So ww2 hitman great
@flyinglobster9552 Basically yes. Man, I could have made a much shorter review!
