    Vapor lock is the term you were looking for. Original glass lights for sure! Would be great to find glass lenses that look old school that you can put LEDs into in order to get more brightness. But All LEDs are not alike. I have bought ones with the exact same specs on paper, that look completely different in reality.

    @kevinallen8162 Před rokem +13

    When it comes to appearance when parked, I definitely prefer the OEM style sealed beams, but from a practicality standpoint, the LEDs when properly installed and aimed are superior for driving, particularly on rural highways. I upgraded my vintage Buick to modern LEDs, and feel that it much safer driving at night on the rural highways near my home. I will be updating my 1985 Oldsmobile as well later this year.

    Randy, I noticed you have some wires going through a bulkhead at the radiator. The wires were resting on the metal opening with no grommet. You should check to make sure the wire insulation isn't being chewed through. Good job on the headlights, you made the right call. It may be worth the money to have an ac tech fix the air conditioner. It's going to be a long, hot trip. It will also be miserable if...no, when, it rains if there's no air conditioning to clear up the moisture buildup.

    Randy , i think a lighting system like Doxall Led will be better, stock is ok , but for your safety good lights will be a must,love that cadillac and your be mad to part with it, better than any ferrari, lambo, aston etc, can you show more on the repairs, you can buy aluminium sleeving for fuel pipes that get hot and Vapor lock the fuel, they use this on Rally cars, loving the vids, pls more on this 65 caddy, Range Rovers r 2 a penny, there nice to look at and drive , same with high end Audi,mercedes,Bmw,officially the build quality and reliabilty of mercedes has declined since 1997 or there abouts.

    The big thing is a POA valve. They can be switched to just a tube with a low pressure cycling switch. It is important to hook up the cycling switch so the evap doesnt freeze or flood back to the compressor. Also consider charging with 65-70% propane, rest isobutane. It works very well and is compatible with the old mineral oil

    I agree with you, ethanol is the problem. The problem with older cars like your Caddy, there were made when gasoline was not adulterated with ethanol. One option is to try and use ethanol free gas if you can get it. Try a google search or check with a local private airport since they tend to carry for small aircraft.

However I will agree that the original glass lights look better on the car.. until they're lit haha they're just dull in my opinion. If they made those glass housings with the option to put a LED bulb in them that'd be sick, and the light would be distributed better too.
