Kylie’s brand has never really resonated with me to be honest. I think her products are made for her by her. The colours are catered to what looks good on her and reflected her insecurities turned to profit. That’s fine however as a consumer this does not draw me in. Fenty is more my ride or die brand although more pricey it’s genuinely a brand for the people and that I see myself in. It’s a brand that’s timeless and I don’t see going out of favour.

She had opportunity and links in my opinion that did not make her self made. Genuinely, whoever came up with the lipkit idea in general is a genuis. It is hard to find lip liners to match your lips and other lipsticks, the idea is a genuine problem. It is just a shame its gone to a celebrity makeup brand.
You don’t need a lip liner to match your lipstick. The lip liner should have a similar color like your lips. That way the drawn on line looks super natural like your lips.
I have no idea what she was talking about not being able to find a lip liner that matches her lipstick. Chanel has a red matte lipstick that is to die for and a matching lip liner. It's not a kit. You have always had to buy them separately and it's not cheap like $29. MAC has lipsticks and lip liners that match too! Maybe Kylie's price point was the real star of that lip kit thing. I found a knock off on a Chinese website for like $20, and I thought it was the greatest thing ever especially coming from using one eye shadow brush. I now know that you get what you pay for kinda, but still $360 is WAAAAY too much. I think I got my current brush sets on sale for $40 for 2 different sets from... Morphe...
If you want good quality without breaking the bank i would recommend real techniques. Ive had their brushes for several years and they're still my favorite!

I feel like Covid era change everything in beauty world. Before Covid, people go out, concerts, festivals, restaurants, name it, and they want to look nice for their own sanity for going in public. Kylie has started when beauty gurus were on rise, all the dramas, feeling like they say truth and only the truth about all the cosmetics, feels very truthful for viewers, so they buy cosmetics. And then when Kylie announced the first kits, which were innovation in the area of make-up, and it wasn't any sort of collab with big brands, but it was her and only hers, people buy it. IMO I feel like the videos of her launching first kits where she was genuinely happy with Kris were the most relatable vids of her (not showing what's in her bag, oh god, is she in 2016 again?). And Covid hit. No one go out. Everybody sat in their home, curious what's the fuss with TikTok, without make-up, without buying new shit. Beauty gurus mostly flopped, 'cause people wasn't that much interested in make-up and these ridiculous dramas anymore. Review of new drops and collections wasn't doing much for promoting for brands. Many of the gurus also go in their own directions and knew that if they do the same content they will eventually flop. It reminds me of Jeffree Star talking with Shane about it in the documentary a year ago. I don't want to praise him or anything (oh god) but he said truth, he experienced it first-hand with his own brand. For me, Kylie is trying so hard to make people buy this stuff by rebranding, new fonts etc. but she is tired and out of ideas to run this business. She doesn't want to acknowledge it in public, but I feel she knows the truth. The clock is ticking for her and if she doesn't come up with another innovation, that will be her ending. Just my opinion, don't go after me 💀
I never jumped into the hype when they first come out. Now that i can afford to buy them i only do when is on sale. The lip collection is not bad but is nothing to go crazy for.

I've never tried Kylie Cosmetics, especially the hype of her brand that happened during my late high school years. I'll never want to support the Kardashians. Sheesh, especially when Kylie released that 350$ brush sets fuck no.
I have never brought any of their products and I won’t start. I think Kylie's cosmetics started to go down when she had a collab with Jordyn some of the products in the collection didn’t look good on Jordyn but all of the products looked good on Kylie. Also, when Rihanna came out with Fenty Beauty and had a diverse range of products that would match with everyone instead of Kylie’s cosmetics that only match with a certain group of people.
Yeah but Fenty has duds too. I bought that highlighter when it first came out. The duo one. I didn't like it. I do remember the insane hype FOR YEARS on Fenty.
I owned almost every single Kylie lip kit for a period there. I bought some of her other products, like a highlighter and some eyeshadow palettes, but they weren't great quality. Once the styles moved on from matte lips, I stopped shopping there. If she's going to continue, she needs to catch up to the times and actually make higher quality products.
I bought alot also. Many people did. I'm still a fan of her lip products and would repurchase. Love her range of color. However her eyeshadow were bad for the price. I wasn't interested I'm repurchasing anything else.
Most of these cosmetic products are made at the same lab. They are just repackaged in a companies marketing package. I thought for sure folks knew that. So I am not surprised that Kylie’s lippies and Colorpop are the same lipsticks. Consumers are paying for the packaging!!!

When I think of the beggining of all of this I feel old... So many years have passed and it is now coming to an end. It was nice to get a chance to observe it all. I didn't had her lip kit, because no money, but I had substitute. I still like matte liquid lipsticks and I am also proud to be the witness of the history of makeup.

I think the problem is everything is too similar. I cant tell the shade of lipsticks/gloss apart. Her Batman collection was something with potential, but she wasted it.
I saw Kylie Cosmetics promoting the new balms on ig and actually thought they looked pretty nice. First time I’ve even considered purchasing a new product from them in years. I think scaling down and focusing more on the simpler, “clean beauty” Glossier-type products would be a good move for them. People don’t want lip kits anymore, people don’t want massive palettes and a 300-step beauty routine anymore.
She and Norvina at ABH both seemed to be trying to imitate Colourpop's or Revolution's constant makeup releases...while not understanding that those brands can do well with constant releases because they're cheap, while Kylie and ABH are pricier and pricey brands releasing a million products makes them look cheap and rushed.
I bought 3 lip kits way back in 2015 when all the hype around them was still fresh. I used them for about a year and didn’t touch them again because I moved on to brands that were more efficient for my lifestyle like Colorpop and Nyx. They were nice at the time, but I don’t have any desire to buy more Kylie products when I can get the same (or better) quality for cheaper 🤷🏼♀️ The hype around the lip kits died down and my products expired, I threw them out a couple years ago lol

I bought kylies stuff. Some was crap others not so much. Love the lip products and colors. Wish colourpop her range. I saw Kylie cosmetics in Boots the other day which is a chain pharmacy. They sell the likes of Rimmel,Maybeline and no7. I never laughed so hard in my life. Something that we all craved when we were younger and were willing to spend all our money on, is now just a cheap store brand. Celebrity cosmetics are deeeaaddddd 💀
No.7 foundation drops are actually bomb. Makeup by Mario admitted that he used that himself for her and I believe he will come out with his own version of that eventually. Check them out, they're excellent for creating exact match foundation, or making a product slightly more bronzy or rosy.

Also, because I had just seen your video, I peeked over at her display, and--nobody. But also I thought--maybe someone came in and stregically placed them along the line...you never know.
I mean, honestly, good for her for going with a LEGIT lab. ColourPop is tried and true, her people knew what they were doing...no white fibers or mold for her customers!
I wanted to try her stuff out not too long ago. I got a free small sample pack that you get from Ulta and it involved her lipstick. Just like her brand, the little envelope where they put the sample was not there. I guess I will never know how her products work. Oh well.
Kylie cosmetic products are expensive in Australia. Her lipsticks and glosses are the same prices as a mac lipstick. If I'm going to spend $32 for a lipstick there are much better formulas for the same or less price point.

I've never bought anything from Kylie, because to me most of her makeup releases seem kinda bland, and didn't stand out much. I admit some things were kinda cute, but for that price range, I could find something similar for much cheaper else where.

Exactly. There are still those that like some products. I like the lippies. I heard the blushes /bronzers are decent. However the eyeshadow pallettes most of the time are garbage. That's where they needed to heavily invest in. They weren't listening.
I own a couple of her lip products. The only things I really like are the lip glosses, but even then they’re nothing too special. I do think the price is a little expensive, when I can get higher quality and more product from a $2 gloss. The matte lipsticks are so drying and uncomfortable. They look just as dry on the lips too.
I literally have a KVD gloss that my friends have confused with Dolce K a bunch of times -_- they say the packaging is really similar too but I don’t have any of Kylie’s glosses so I’m not gonna confirm that.

The whole "self made billionaire title" - never liked the self-made part of it, even if her business was a billion dollar business. She had opportunity and links in my opinion that did not make her self made. She had opened doors to walk through that most people who are struggling to get their business off the ground have to fight for.

Genuinely, whoever came up with the lipkit idea in general is a genuis. It is hard to find lip liners to match your lips and other lipsticks, the idea is a genuine problem. It is just a shame its gone to a celebrity makeup brand.
You don’t need a lip liner to match your lipstick. The lip liner should have a similar color like your lips. That way the drawn on line looks super natural like your lips.
I have no idea what she was talking about not being able to find a lip liner that matches her lipstick. Chanel has a red matte lipstick that is to die for and a matching lip liner. It's not a kit. You have always had to buy them separately and it's not cheap like $29. MAC has lipsticks and lip liners that match too! Maybe Kylie's price point was the real star of that lip kit thing. I hope she's invested her coin properly bc I REFUSE to feel sorry for the daughter of an Olympian and a hustler mom.

I found a knock off on a Chinese website for like $20, and I thought it was the greatest thing ever especially coming from using one eye shadow brush. I now know that you get what you pay for kinda, but still $360 is WAAAAY too much. I think I got my current brush sets on sale for $40 for 2 different sets from... Morphe...
If you want good quality without breaking the bank i would recommend real techniques. Ive had their brushes for several years and they're still my favorite!

I feel like Covid era change everything in beauty world. Before Covid, people go out, concerts, festivals, restaurants, name it, and they want to look nice for their own sanity for going in public. Kylie has started when beauty gurus were on rise, all the dramas, feeling like they say truth and only the truth about all the cosmetics, feels very truthful for viewers, so they buy cosmetics. And then when Kylie announced the first kits, which were innovation in the area of make-up, and it wasn't any sort of collab with big brands, but it was her and only hers, people buy it. IMO I feel like the videos of her launching first kits where she was genuinely happy with Kris were the most relatable vids of her (not showing what's in her bag, oh god, is she in 2016 again?). And Covid hit. No one go out. Everybody sat in their home, curious what's the fuss with TikTok, without make-up, without buying new shit. Beauty gurus mostly flopped, 'cause people wasn't that much interested in make-up and these ridiculous dramas anymore. Review of new drops and collections wasn't doing much for promoting for brands. Many of the gurus also go in their own directions and knew that if they do the same content they will eventually flop. It reminds me of Jeffree Star talking with Shane about it in the documentary a year ago. I don't want to praise him or anything (oh god) but he said truth, he experienced it first-hand with his own brand. For me, Kylie is trying so hard to make people buy this stuff by rebranding, new fonts etc. but she is tired and out of ideas to run this business. She doesn't want to acknowledge it in public, but I feel she knows the truth. The clock is ticking for her and if she doesn't come up with another innovation, that will be her ending. I have never brought any of their products and I won’t start. I think Kylie's cosmetics started to go down when she had a collab with Jordyn some of the products in the collection didn’t look good on Jordyn but all of the products looked good on Kylie. Also, when Rihanna came out with Fenty Beauty and had a diverse range of products that would match with everyone instead of Kylie’s cosmetics that only match with a certain group of people.
Yeah but Fenty has duds too. I bought that highlighter when it first came out. The duo one. I didn't like it. I do remember the insane hype FOR YEARS on Fenty.
I bought a fenty foundation it was trash. It was not smooth or sheer, it was bally and cakey dry af.
I owned almost every single Kylie lip kit for a period there. I bought some of her other products, like a highlighter and some eyeshadow palettes, but they weren't great quality. Once the styles moved on from matte lips, I stopped shopping there. If she's going to continue, she needs to catch up to the times and actually make higher quality products.
Not to mention reasonable prices. Cause honestly her products aren’t what you’ll call luxury.

I saw Kylie Cosmetics promoting the new balms on ig and actually thought they looked pretty nice. First time I’ve even considered purchasing a new product from them in years. I think scaling down and focusing more on the simpler, “clean beauty” Glossier-type products would be a good move for them. People don’t want lip kits anymore, people don’t want massive palettes and a 300-step beauty routine anymore.

I used them for about a year and didn’t touch them again because I moved on to brands that were more efficient for my lifestyle like Colorpop and Nyx. The influencer brand trips being bs, and all the youtubers controversial review videos on products and not disclosing its a paid review. That if you click the link they get a percentage. I bought kylies stuff. Some was crap others not so much. Love the lip products and colors. Wish colourpop her range. I saw Kylie cosmetics in Boots the other day which is a chain pharmacy. They sell the likes of Rimmel,Maybeline and no7. I never laughed so hard in my life. No.7 foundation drops are actually bomb. Makeup by Mario admitted that he used that himself for her and I believe he will come out with his own version of that eventually. Check them out, they're excellent for creating exact match foundation, or making a product slightly more bronzy or rosy.

I just discovered your channel and thank you for your care and presentation. While on line today at Ulta, I saw 3 Kylie lip kits strewn along where we were standing. Clearly changes of mind. Also, because I had just seen your video, I peeked over at her display, and--nobody. But also I thought--maybe someone came in and stregically placed them along the line...you never know.
I mean, honestly, good for her for going with a LEGIT lab. ColourPop is tried and true, her people knew what they were doing...no white fibers or mold for her customers!
I wanted to try her stuff out not too long ago. I got a free small sample pack that you get from Ulta and it involved her lipstick. Just like her brand, the little envelope where they put the sample was not there. I guess I will never know how her products work. Oh well.
Kylie cosmetic products are expensive in Australia. Her lipsticks and glosses are the same prices as a mac lipstick. If I'm going to spend $32 for a lipstick there are much better formulas for the same or less price point.

Exactly. There are still those that like some products. I like the lippies. I heard the blushes /bronzers are decent. However the eyeshadow pallettes most of the time are garbage. That's where they needed to heavily invest in. They weren't listening.

I own a couple of her lip products. The only things I really like are the lip glosses, but even then they’re nothing too special. I do think the price is a little expensive, when I can get higher quality and more product from a $2 gloss. The matte lipsticks are so drying and uncomfortable. They look just as dry on the lips too.
I literally have a KVD gloss that my friends have confused with Dolce K a bunch of times -_- they say the packaging is really similar too but I don’t have any of Kylie’s glosses so I’m not gonna confirm that.

I’ve always said, kylie will do a full blown promo photo shoot, but as soon as you open the pallet, it’s lackluster, but that packaging tho!!!😃😒 & the repeated lip colors really send me off the edge. Oh, and let’s not forget the LACK of passion🥰
The biggest thing to for me at least is that it’s not even about the fact that her brand is suffering because she’s a mom and she probably has other priorities now which is totally OK. The problem for me lies at the fact that they lie and deceive about all of this and lie about other things too that I just don’t trust their perspective or product sometimes and I will probably not gonna Kylie’s product anymore because I can clearly see she’s not putting in the effort like she was before.
The kardashians always make crap products but sell at the most expensive prices to get at the most profit as possible and even the jenners do the same
