Another great job. Be thankful these owners understand it is not your fault that you have to go back into it. I know some guys would argue that ever since you charged my AC my trucks been making oil 🤦🏼♂️
Great video Warren suck about the 7130M John deer engine. Seams like theirs always someone to mess up a engine you rebuilded last fall. Now you get to do it again. Thanks for the update on the ISX engine that went from a head gasket replacement to a inframe pretty much. Looking forward to your next video stay safe Warren.
👍 evening feller... Pissed with an early isx at tech years ago... haven't seen or owned one since.. probably a good thing... idk..thanks another video 👍👊
My heart goes out to anyone trying to haul to make a living. They'll need the money, be desperate to keep a commitment to a customer and so focused on the job to be done that they fall into this rut. A costly rut. A rut that's ruined many a haulier. Regards the engine dusting. Those small rock saws that builders use? (Stihl saw) They can be bought cheaply on the used market. They're always worn out. Builders use them, the air filter chokes up and instead of cleaning or replacing the air filter they decide to run the saw without an air filter. Rock dust makes short work on engine internals.
These people reap what they sow Warren. There's only so much you can control. As long as it's all bill paying work, I would keep soaking it up. Good luck and thanks for taking us along with you on this one.
Warren, that is a very nice looking shirt you are wearing and looks like it is very warm .im almost sure your wife got that for you ans it shows she loves her man . dont let this shitty old world tear you down because you have alot of friends out here plus you have a great gal looking after you !!!
Hey Warren, if it weren’t for bad luck that ISX wouldn’t have any luck at all. Hope you get it back together and it runs great! Thanks much for the awesome video.
Hey Warren !! Goes to show what happens when the Driver ignores your advise as to stop running the truck till you fix the overheating problems ?? 🤔🤔 Thanks for the videos & As long as the Farmer & Truck Owner continues on with their way of doing things, you'll have a lifetime of work for sure !! 🙃😉😛🤠😎😮👍👍👍👍👍
Work is never done.. it took me 5 years to retire from working like that and it was finally my back and hips just gave up that forced me to really quit most of my work. I wish you better luck when it comes to your turn..

I swear with all of this modern engine BS, it’s all designed to fail. It’s designed to run hot and “clean” and then fail. The manufacturers want it to fail. They make more money when it fails. It’s not like things used to be, they wanted them to work, but now they want them to fail.
Operator keeps driving an overheating machine that has a probable head gasket leak and you think the problem is "modern" engines? Wha??? Doesn't matter is the engine is from 1982 or 2022, if the operator does stupid #### then things break.
@@bondobilly9369 seen it on my ISB 6.7 in my bucket truck...EGR cooler cracked internally and kept sucking coolant or puking it out the exhaust. Got the red shut down light a few times, shop finally had to pull the head off it.
Because the engine would be cooking hot when the water goes through the exhaust manifold it may turn to steam which then goes into other cylinders and when the engine cools down perhaps condenses back to liquid thus meaning no kinda sloping path needed for flow to happen.
I tell people that oil pressure and water temp gauges tell you a lot, but often all people look at is the speedo and the fuel gauge🙃 ! I bet this truck owner is not a happy camper ! Thanks for sharing.
Definitely frickin heavy, alot heavier that u think but you figure it as soon as that last journal's out of the way and you got the weight. I used to drive in the 70's. Seen a guy in a nice big hood Pete stopped by the side of the road in a small town once. Driver was there for 3 days working on that truck. Don't know what he was doing to it, but finally got it running. Could a driver do that in one of today's modern trux? I think not.
Holy crap. That injector cam was HUGE. Maybe a little overengineered for the job it does??? Have worked on Diesels for years , never the size of an ISX. but wow.
when engines get cooked.......all kinds of things go wrong. Even if they start up ok and run.........eventually all kinds of little problems start to surface that are expensive to fix. Ive heard of people throwing cold water in a super hot cooked engine.......and something cracks and the water just starts running on the ground LoL.
I would hate, when I did a good job and the customer abuses the equipment right off... I just put pumps and wheel motors on a 61" ztr customer He went out and jammed steer handles back an forth popped wheelies, I said easy break in all new pumped dude ! nope , so I did not guess why the bearings blew out the side!! I spent 2 days cleaning lines and tanks , and r&r unreal,
I could see the guy getting rid of the mechanic that screwed up the tractor. I don’t see getting rid of a tractor that you know the engine has been rebuilt, might be better than what you replace it with. Seems like the newer Cummins are not tough engines or whoever rebuilt it the last time didn’t get liners set correctly. I would think being at the high side of the protrusion spec would be better for holding a head gasket, also need to have them as close as possible to each other. Thanks for sharing your time and knowledge.
Those isx's have a lot of problems with liners . I bought a 2015 with half a mil and it had liner bores cut and shimmed and a brand new head from cummins.
This is the problem I am going thru right now with 454k miles on my 2016 isx 500. I blew a head gasket on cylinder #5 and the shop is telling me my liners have dropped and now need to be all replaced. My motor never ran hot in the past 6 months I have had it, it just started blowing coolant out the release on the reservoir tank from building up too much pressure.
Does it look like that liner hammered? I have no real experience with that particular engine so I have to kind of equate it with other engines that I have worked on. I have seen an engine where a "loose" liner started kind of bouncing as the engine ran. Boy howdy , let me tell you that that engine was a mess. It started out like the one you're working on being hydro locked , bad head gasket , damaged head due to the liner movement , along with damage to the block as well.
If it were me I would withhold out of that guy's paycheck to cover the cost of rebuilding or getting another engine and then once that was squared away I'd let him go. Might take a long time but the one who ruined it needs to help make it right somehow
I don't get why folks can't just listen to what your telling them . Oh well guess thst guy can pay the tow bill and pay you to repair the engine . And for the guy that filled that tractor engine with dirt .when he was in line for brains he asked for trains instead . Lol Great video Warren Thanks for sharing bud 🇨🇦
I feel for that farmer…Good help isn’t hard to find….it’s impossible. It’s the same in the marine world.. I put 165 t-stats and 185 alarms in EVERYTHING…..Don’t tell your crew there’s a temp cushion….All they know is if you hear the alarm to SHUT IT OFF…. Caterpillar told me it’s to cool….thousands of hours later…no known side effects…except way less head gaskets, heads and manifolds….. I see no other reason than epa nonsense why these motors need to run this hot…. Before I did this….when the factory set (way to hot) alarm came on….the damage was already done. Anyway…enjoyed the video
We blew up two engines in the last year in the same truck, in the time line of two years, new head, then In frame, then engine swap, then head gasket, then In frame, then engine swap again, dad stuck $45K in it and I stuck $22K into the truck, it's an 2006 T600, the truck ain't worth $15K running in top shape, that's why I will never own a CM 870 ISX
