@Rebecca Martinez so at every inn, you will be able to buy some "mob cards" (the random shit cards, some good ofc). And as the story progress there will be oponents you can fight for their cards, just remember to check for card quests, so you dont progress to far into the story, so u cant do the quest anymore. And there ofc alot of other random ppl you can fight, but you kinda need to find em :)

That quest has absolutely nothing to do with Gwent whatsoever :D It's just that Gangs of Novigrad and Collect them all were the only two quests that I failed to complete and were a torn in my sight ever since... However, I used Google recently and decided to hunt down all possible Gwent players in the world to get the cards I'm missing. The key is to find the players that you haven't played against before (or haven't won against). In my case those were: One of the two players in Lindenvale in Velen where I got a Wyvern card. And the second one was a player in Claywich also in Velen. BUT.... First you have to free him from a cage in the Bandit's camp on an island north form Drudge and wait for him to return to Claywich. He sells one of the Crinfried Reavers and some lesser Nilfgardian cards like Putkaner and a few others. Hope this helps you guys witcher3map.com/v/#3/-48.05/-59.15

How to avoid scorching: Use weather card to weaken your own card and clear weather card to remove the weather effect. If you don't want to use much weather card, you can rely the enemy to use their weather card so you have to make them use it. And if you don't want to have a clear weather card in your deck, you can use the foltest card in northern realm deck that has the ability to use a clear weather card. As you know, scorch card target the biggest number on the arena. So if you planned to have a 5 blue stripes commando for example, use the frost card to weakens it but make sure the enemy has a bigger number card on the arena compared to 5 of blue stripes commando in frost condition, which is 5 CMIIW. So all you need to do: - Weaken the lane you want to put combo card (forgot what it actual name) - Put the card on the weakened lane - Make sure enemy has a bigger number card to avoid scorching - Try to make your enemy passed - After the enemy passed, use the clear weather card. Additional tips: - Use a lot of spies - Have a Yennefer card in your deck - Have some resurrecting ability card in your deck to resurrect the spies - Have a lot of decoys
Thats 2 negative cards..instead of just having less cards its a complete waste lmao so many heros and spies/revives in nr its a waste to bring a frost and clear skies lmao
The AI had 2 scorch cards but couldnt play them as his hand had the highest cards on view - player carefully played his hand not to exceed 20 points on any single card - AI runs out of cards and has to stop - player then free to add horns -easy

In all these high scoring gwent games surprisingly no weather or scorch cards ever make an appearance.
I think the setup is "easy" for gwent. My highscore was something like 215 and I also do not understand how you can have more than three blue stripes commanders. How can they be drawn with a spy card when they are already in your hand? Were there more than three of these cards in the game? Never got more than three of those and I certainly finished my gwent collection...

Likely a lot of cheating going on. You can't have more than 3 Blue Stripes. At least not since B&W was released. Player has HoS installed (otherwise no Olgierd card), but can't have patched the game since. Which is unbelievable to say the least since the video was posted years after B&W was released.
Ahh, the good old times when horn doubled the points, you could use CA spies for days and weather set all units to 1 :D
Kinda miss those times in Standalone Gwent but at the same time it was way too unbalanced so its probably better its gone there^^
Almost finished my fourth playthrough now, currently missing 3 damn cards, soon 100% the game, again! (all of the cards hiding in velen) haha
And there ofc alot of other random ppl you can fight, but you kinda need to find em :)

x I see there's been a misunderstading. I guess a small update on my part is in order.

I like how cards have quotes of characters from previous games.
This was beautiful.
How to avoid scorching:
Use weather card to weaken your own card and clear weather card to remove the weather effect.
So all you need to do:
- Weaken the lane you want to put combo card (forgot what it actual name)
- Put the card on the weakened lane
- Make sure enemy has a bigger number card to avoid scorching
- Try to make your enemy passed
- After the enemy passed, use the clear weather card.
Additional tips:
- Use a lot of spies
- Have a Yennefer card in your deck
- Have some resurrecting ability card in your deck to resurrect the spies
- Have a lot of decoys
🤓

How? How on earth do you put down so many cards without something getting scorched? I get scorched so often even my scorch cards get scorched.
Cause ai always had the highest card.
The AI had 2 scorch cards but couldnt play them as his hand had the highest cards on view - player carefully played his hand not to exceed 20 points on any single card - AI runs out of cards and has to stop - player then free to add horns -easy

You gotta find the ai with shitty early-game decks before challenging any of the better vendors
The fact that i kept losing made me want to play it more

I dont understand how u lose all the time i play on death march and win almost all games with base deck just added some decoys and horns....can buy them really early. If i lose its against monster and have no snow card
The standalone gwent is too confusing but this Gwent has very exploitable ai, one time it had an opportunity to medic villentretenmerth about 100 points off my board and it mediced a spy instead, it always favours spy cards
Honestly i would've done the same too. Spy cards are almost always more useful than any cards
