- In this video I take a look at the Paradiddle app on the meta quest 3. In it you can play VR drum and you can play them in mixed reality too! Paradiddle releases officially on the quest store on the 16th November.

I used to have drumming lessons in high school (which I loved) haven’t touched a drum kit in years, this looks like a lot of fun will definitely grab this when i eventually get my Meta 3 set the only thing missing is the high hat foot controller and the bass pedal and they are the most vital parts of a drum kit, when learning how to play drums the first thing you’re taught is going from left to right high hat controller to bass drum drum pedal back and forth.
Hi! You can use kick pedal with the usb-c and even you can connect two pedals and use the hi-hat... or double kick :D

@@Szabby999 E-Drum pedals! For electric drum kits, as well as USB Keyboard sustain pedals, and even old rockband drum pedals!! Also this game supports custom songs.

Just imagine your band goes to a live show and your drummer with his Quest 3 and everyone is like”How are we gonna hear you? 🙄” and he’s like “I just got some great headphones. 😎👉” Lmao.
There's several ways to do the kick pedal (and hi-hat pedal): An e-drum pedal, a generic usb pedal (i.e. - a push-to-talk pedal), feet trackers, a spare keyboard on the floor, etc.

Looks like you can build a respectable late-era Neil Peart mega-kit!
The biggest problem for me is that the controllers are not suitable for drumming technique. If there was a third party peripheral that was shaped like a drum stick that we could use for something like this, i'd probably use my VR headset for a use case like this
It's far away from substituting real drums but it's very fun

You should overlay the VR drums over your real drums, then if you can tie sticks to the controller you could even get the same feedback from hitting the drums.
if you have an electric midi drum kit you can connect it so it literally feeds straight into the headset. very cool!

I'm currently on dilemma: I had my birthday a few days ago and I want as a bday gift either a VR headset or an E-drum kit. My parents' budget is from 200-320€. What would you recommend me? (Btw for a VR headset I'm thinking the quest 2)
E-drum kit all the way. I bought a Quest 2, and use it far less than my drum set because VR is not all that developed.

What about rebound? Can you do buzz's? I dont have much knowledge about playing drums but I want to learn and because I cant afford a drum set, I'd like to know if this accurately simulates playing drums.
Since this is VR and not the real world, no. It accurately represents what it would look like to play drums but it would not feel anything like playing the real thing.
@@MalrusOSC so this would be fun to play as a videogame but obviously not the best choice for learning to play drums. Got it!
@@jbarber7127you can absolutely learn the drums from this game, especially with the ability to download so many songs, the only thing is you don’t get the feel of actually hitting anything, unless you pair it to an electric drum kit, which you can do in the game
@@jbarber7127 No no it definitely helps. For me at least, the game has improved my ability to keep a groove steadily and figure out the intricacies of weird time signatures, which is like the building blocks for real drums. The feel is different... sure, but its all there.
