    Thank you Neil. So almost a year ago I basically removed the majority of my blog posts because most were short-form content and were not ranking. So I started fro scratch, and today I have over 100 posts, nothing less than 1200 words, and my site gets between 400-500 views per day. That's not substantial but it's been continuously growing.
    But now I'm thinking, per your comment, I should maybe slow down on creating new content and focus on making every post better.

    What happens if I publish a no-bs article that is concise and to the point in 300 words giving the answers to the query, but someone writes the same answers but with more words, without being any more in-depth. Will they rank better because they were overly verbose? Latter seems to make people stay more on the page, if they read the answer within a minute or less, wouldn't that hurt me in the long run?

    If we update our old posts, can we rewrite our posts titles too? Sometimes it becomes important to rewrite the title, for example one year ago we wrote about 9 causes and now we are adding one or two more and we rewrite it with 10 causes, does it affect negatively on our ranking?
    Second, if we change the published date and replace it with the recent one, does it affect negatively or positively?

    Hi Neil, I have been following you for years now, many thanks for all your help. I wanted to ask you an important question. I have two sites and over the years they have been dropping ranking. Each one was making approx $2000 per month and now I get about 5% of that. I was thinking of starting a new site and use the content of these two sites and start over again. There are about 1200 articles in these two sites. Please advise if you think it's a good or bad idea. Many thanks in advance

      I don't think you need to start a new site, unless you really want to. It's hard for me to help without knowing your business or business model. Are you in sales or affiliate marketing?

    • @KasRizvi

      Hi Neil, many thanks for your reply. The reason I want to start a new site is that I have given about 2 years to see if the ranking gets better or not. Now if I do more work on the sites and not knowing why Google does not like the sites anymore, I would be wasting all my efforts trying to beat a dead horse. My concern is if I can use the content from the two sites and make some improvements by going for even more long tail keywords with the help of your Ubersuggest. Most grateful for your response.

      You need to disavow those links. Either ask them to remove the links or disavow them in Google.

    Is it important to have a sticky header? I’m referring to the header that has my logo and menu. I also have a sub header to advertise FREE SHIPPING. I’d assume that’s no brainer... good to be sticky. P.s. I watch tons of your videos. Thanks!!!

    Google does not necessarily like fresh content. In fact, some topics are not as updated as others. They want content that appears to answer searcher questions in an accurate and comprehensive manner. As well, sites do NOT rank initially. We live by the phrase, “pages rank, sites don’t” - like a rocket launch there are stages to SEO - later, if you have proper structure, a collective of pages ranked well and good search signals, you will establish authority and then the site will rank and you will see an “accordion effect” where long tail keywording will begin to become more broad and modifiers will drop off. When this happens you will have a high performing site. Stop listening to Neil Patel. Google has evolved. He hasn’t.

    • @neilpatel
      @neilpatel  Před 4 lety

      Quality content is the key. When creating content for a keyword, it's incredibly important to keep user-intent in mind. However, fresh content is still an important factor in the eyes of Google as well. An old piece of content is going to be seen as outdated - unless it's an evergreen topic.
      SEO takes months and even years of work to start seeing some big traction in the SERPs. Of course, there are wins along the way, like individual pages ranking.
      I continue to evolve along with Google, my friend :) It's why I rank for over a million organic keywords.

    • @Stupidcatshow
      @Stupidcatshow Před 4 lety

      Sorry, Neil - you rank because of brand. If you were to start from scratch like most of your followers from ground up without brand - you’d never make it. You are now simply a trend copycat. You regurgitate from other gurus that put in the hard work. Now, it is NOT on every situation important to have fresh content. Be specific here. In fact, if you are talking hammers, there isn’t much going on in that topic in terms of evolution. So even older content will be much more relevant and rank better. So it is not always about fresh content. And the ONLY part that Google cares about regarding fresh content is user signals. Google has NO specific care for age of content - only quality of it. This I can prove. Yes it takes months or even years. But not beyond a couple. If you aren’t placing in 24 months - or even in 8 months really, you have done something incorrectly. No, Neil - I stand by my statement - you do not keep up and you rely on your brand. None of these people have what you have.

    I hate copied content but have a question: How would Google know who's the source and who's the copier? If you just change your "published date" prior to the source's published date, wouldn't Google think you're the source? (of course, I'm not talking about copying a source that's been indexed on google for 5 years, but rather a new source)

    Popups convert a lot better than embedded forms though. You can get over 1% conversion on a good popup, and nowhere near that otherwise. What about delayed popups, do they hurt SEO? For example, waiting 20 seconds before showing the popup? Does anyone has any experience on the SEO impact of that?

    • @neilpatel
      @neilpatel  Před 3 lety +1

      I totally think that both are worth testing out, friend :) Every audience is different and is going to react differently. I've tested with delayed popups but have had better results with exit intent popups.
