    I have been a professional SEO Developer and Digital Marketing Strategist for over 15 years now, this guy is the only one who is actually telling you good advice, I agree with the majority of everything he has said in 99% of the videos that I have watched him in. I don't give compliments, I tell absolute truth, so I am not complimenting him, I am concurring with him. He is telling you very valuable information so open your ears and listen to him.

      @@neilpatel you are most welcome. Like I said I am happy that you are telling them what and not how, I don't care for lying but remember, don't cast your pearls before swine. I think that it's funny because most of them don't understand how many little pieces and moving parts there are, I have a question, do you have issues getting your clients to get their content to you on time or do you, or your agency create the content. I'm a copy writer but I am so expensive that they have to have one hell of a budget to hire me for that, how do you work it?

    Hi Neil. I’m an editor-turned-copywriter and I have to say you’re a Godsend. Even though I don’t plan to become an SEO specialist or service provider, I knew I had to get some good, practical SEO knowledge under my belt so I can serve my clients better, especially when writing web copy. Initially I was so overwhelmed, and it was hard to figure out SEO best practices and what keyword tool to use (just so much info to wade through!). Every article or video or tutorial of yours feels like a huge step forward to help me make sense of everything. Thank you for your generous, helpful spirit (it really comes across as genuine) and for breaking down complex concepts into manageable but meaningful bite-sized pieces! I’m loving all your tips and insights!

    This is honestly the best video for your content. If anyone starts SEO with any advice from previous content, this is the key to understanding how starting a site will develop and how traffic will be impacted as we progress working on sites. We have so many metrics segmented by time but people need to recognize long term growth is better than immediate monthly trends.

    It also depends on how competitive your niche and keywords are. You can do everything right but it will take years for it to be on the first page of google if they're really competitive.

    I definitely have seen a change over the last 10 years when it comes to SEO and how its ranked. I've rebranded myself regionally a few times over the years and I still have the old urls with a 301 redirect. Google has seemed to pick up on that and kept the rankings and the DA, at least from what I can tell. I also recommend updating outdated content every so often and keep it fresh. In my industry everyone's posting images of the couples they took images of and we do a different approach and answer those queries that people ask about wedding photography and videography. Seems to work well for us.

    According to Neil Patel, if you have new website and you are working actively on content, on page SEO and link building it can take roughly six months before you start seeing results. It doesn’t mean that after six month you will be rank at the top but it usually takes six months to start seeing traction.

    • @neilpatel
      @neilpatel  Před 4 lety +3

      I don't necessarily recommend those tools as sometimes I think they do more harm than good. You can test it and see what your thoughts are on it.
      However, Google will know which site published the content first based on when it gets indexed. I wouldn't worry too much about it.

    • @solorosco
      @solorosco Před 4 lety +2

      I don't think it will affect your SEO because I personally use it on my new website.
      This was due to the fact that people really copy my content and publish it again.
      However, my new blog (6 months old) just had 100 content but received over 50,000 pageviews every month and still increasing.
      From my experience, SEO depends on your Keyword (longtail keyword) and on-page SEO, backlinks are not really necessary anymore.

    Need help. I own a local dog waste removal company. My target market doesn’t know they need my service until they accidentally stumble upon it. They will never search for “dog waste removal near me”. But when I walk up to people in person and offer my service, they realize it’s a great service and then buy it. How do I get customers to see a service that they don’t yet know they need? Thanks.

      You need to get in front of dog owners online and create some brand awareness.
      I would try promoting some of your content about the services you offer! Try running Facebook ads to start :) You can target dog owners in local areas.

    Unpopular opinion but I'm at the end of my tether with Organic...I firmly believe Google rank sites based on ad spend...because after pushing a few sites I work with heavily, with content, getting the builds up to speed, following all the rules for almost a year in each case (and I've been doing this six year myself)...there are still sites which are dominating the first two pages...and there's no way in some cases they should be. Brand is important of course - and one site I work on has built a strong brand (brand terms are great) but of course the demand is for non-branded terms to perform now. The issue is they just don't carry enough volume and long tails are the same. Unless they carry thousands, not hundreds, how are we supposed to get decent traffic through? Especially when Google still rank some sites which are actually quite poor? in comparison, some are terrible and blatantly ignore basic Google "rules" and yet they are always ahead. Branding plays a part but many of them don't have "great content". Unfortunately, marketing gurus think that they can apply the same spiel to every site but the fact is, it's more difficult to write "great content" that people want to share in boring industries - plastics is one, although I've managed fairly well so far. People don't care to share stuff on dull industries and when you spend the time investing in content a lot of the time, it doesn't go anywhere. Also, reaching out - the myth that people will give you links for free...wrong. Many people I have cordial discussions with love the material I send them but low and behold, there's a price attached. And why wouldn't there be? If you can make money from utilising your site to others, you would too. It's frustrating because marketing gurus often give this advice which is recycled everywhere but the fact is marketing and digital marketing is one of the biggest industries, of course you can have loads of content, creatives and material to share because it's a huge sector. And it inherently encourages sharing and advice/tips/communications. Many industries just don't have that benefit but yet the "experts" say to do the same approach for success. Ultimately, some sites I work on are steady but struggle with actual traffic through organic non-brand but the ones that don't are the ones which also have a big presence and spend in Adwords. Convenient but I think we know what this actually indicates. Google give out and always have given out vague rules to follow but it's all mystified nonsense. It's tied to ad spend and generally a random generator. Rant over. Would love opinions - I'm not looking to cause offense, I'm just fed up with the same stuff recycled (and listening for over 10 years now to it) when it just doesn't work like that.

      I can see why you might think that, however, I can tell you from experience that these tactics do work! I've been practicing SEO for over 10 years now and I gotten to know more about Google, what works and what doesn't.
      Although it is harder than ever to rank because of competition, it is totally possible, even without spending a cent on ads!

    • @charlieburrows7490

      Neil Patel I can understand your not going to agree with me because that’s your business.. so let’s assume I’m doing it wrong.. a polycarbonate supplier.. pretty dull topic but I’ve written stuff based on the ever present issue on environmental impact on plastics etc. So it’s a hot topic. Pushed it out.. useful for readers.. but anyone that wanted it wanted paying.. to publish it.. not for free but for money. And that’s always the case.. they see an opportunity to get money to use their site for promotion. Fair enough. But you say it’s easy to roll out material based on popular topics and get great links.. I say no, because they won’t do it for free. So what am I doing wrong exactly? And as for paid.. sorry but I have a client that does significantly better than others organically and they have paid campaigns in place. Might be a coincidence but I’m not convinced. Genuinely, simple link building is a myth unless you are a big brand where sites will happily give you a ref link. Otherwise most of them want money.. so what’s going wrong?

    a question: what if the blog & blog post are promoted SUCCESFULLY(it means people like content and interact) on social media/forums. I guess it will take less than 6 munths to send a good signals to google and to rank as well ?

    'it depends'. No, I'm not wearing any right now but maybe I should be. 6/mo to get traction is a snoozer when selling SEO services. Long gone are the good ole days of selling SEO services. It's best to use these tips for my own site rankings in the long game since I know to expect 6/mo before Goog even acknowledges it in the results. Thx Neil
