I love watching tornados, but I truly HATE when they destroy things. Seeing them in open fields is cool because no one gets hurt.
and I truly hate when they make a movie about sharks in a tornado
That's insane
Justa Witness Beauty/Terror
Justa Witness It’s not just surviving the tornado, it’s having to start over with from nothing. My heart would be broken. But I would be happy if no one was hurt.
They get more powerful when they’re in open fields because there’s nothing obstructing and weakening them, so they are more destructive after leaving an open field.
I remember hearing the story about the house. It was a custom-built "dream" home that this couple had JUST moved into a week before the tornado hit. They were doing indoor DIY stuff when they saw the tornado coming, and ran to the basement. The husband shielded his wife with his body. Thankfully, the tornado didn't take the foundation, and the couple lived to tell the tale. They were shocked when the storm-chaser showed them the footage he shot of the same incident.
Id love to hear an interview from this couple
Yeah... usually, when a tornado picks up a house, that house won't stay intact for long. Instead, it usually disintegrates within seconds of going up into the vortex. Tornadoes don't generally pick up houses and then carry them around intact like in "The Wizard of Oz"... That couple would have likely been killed if they hadn't gone into the basement!
@@jeffzebert4982 ok know it all who im sure you have experience inside houses that have been lifted by tornadoes multiple times. Tell us more what it's like flying around
@@ron78tht74 Since you obviously have nothing nice to say about my post, you shouldn't say anything at all.
@@jeffzebert4982 your comment just came off as kind of snarky, like this person was saying that a house was picked up whole and put down and they were an idiot for it. Like, nobody thinks that happens. And nobody said it either. That's probably why you got that reaction, even though you were completely right about what happens to a structure in a tornado.

This video with an almost complete house being lifted up I think is the most dramatic footage there is. I'd think most fall apart before being lifted, would make sense. But the fact this was an actual complete home going up into the air seems so surreal, like it could only happen in a movie with CGI
This exact thing happened to my friend and her little boy. They both died. I can't imagine what being in that would be like, especially at 1 AM like she was when it's dark and you have no idea what's going on.
That's horrible I'm sorry to hear that. I love storms but tornadoes are too much for me. Absolutely terrifying. I live in a mobile home too smh I always go to a friend's house in their basement tho cus we have no shelter here or anything
Sorry to hear that. Prayers.
I'm so sorry ❤️🩹 I Hope any trauma will go away from you
Don't they have tornado sirens?
2:44 as the house came apart the family or person loses their life this just shows how dangerous and powerful a tornado is
Go to the basement if you see a tornado but I live in the netherlands and we don't have much Basements but the tornados in the netherlands fujita scale are EF0 EF1 EF2 wind speeds up to 200 km

Tornadoes are the most destructive force in the planet.
Earthquake: I'm I a joke for you ?
Tsunamis, Hurricanes, volcanic eruptions
True is that EF5 twisters are worst than most earthquakes on this planet
They are the most powerful storm relative to their size, but not the strongest natural disaster. Doesn’t mean you should take a tornado lightly, even an ef1 can kill you by either projectile debris or just flinging you around
William Mullinax I’ll take a hurricane week warning, vs 10 second alarms before your entire neighborhood is swept away.

Scott is an amazing guy. I use to upload storm videos on another channel and he always encouraged me to keep doing it and complimented my work :)
That's so awesome
I’ll never forget when I was 6 & the tornado sirens were going off. I was young & confused to what was happening, i opened the front door to see my neighbors all looking up. In broad daylight with no rain & the sun still shining. I seen a tornado trying to touch down right before my eyes, it was the most amazing thing to see at the time but oblivious of the danger present
That was something out of Wizard of Oz! Totally unreal!
2:39 is some of the most iconic tornado footage to date

Tornadoes are for pussies. Hurricanes are for men
@@antoniobrown8212 Tornadoes are much stronger because they're a much more concentrated force, however hurricanes can be overall more dangerous as they cover such a large area and also last longer...

The tornado is obsessed with the car
I hope there was no one in that house and if there was, they all got to safety. I always wanted to be a tornado hunter/chaser and see them up close in real life but was terrified of one touching down near me in fear of losing friends and family. Only once did a tornado ever touch down in the town I lived in but it died just as quick as at started and thankfully didn't destroy anything as it touched down briefly in a field. I didn't get to see it first hand but I saw pictures of it.
we need to remember this was someones house, with pets and all their belongings, why does it not even say if they were ok?
Sit Stand Walk maybe because the place was evacuated before or they prepped and left?
It was under construction and empty iirc

Although so destructive, also so awesome in the true sense of the word. I can’t believe you all were so dangerously near the tornado but beautiful footage truly! 😍
i love watching tornadoes do anything. even destroying things :)
These people that go out and get this close to these tornadoes literally have balls of steel… I am glad that they do bc I love watching these videos!! Buuuut I could never….. I’m way too terrified!!
Europeans often mock American houses because they see footage like this and they think it's because we use weak building materials. They honestly don't understand the power of the wind at that speed. The house could be made of steel and concrete but it's still going to be ripped into the air and shredded into chunks.
Eurotrash get excited over the thought of America being inferior to them in some way. They ignore all the pics of well built schools being destroyed
They pick up 18 wheelers. Why the hell do they think a brick house would be so special?
@@leesdroidaccountharbin9665right? Like tornadoes pickup rail cars weighing 36,000 pounds. No house is surviving that.

Home sweet home.
Two tornadoes formed in Crumly Chapel, AL, a suburb of Birmingham back in the 1960s that started off with people (like my great uncle) watching the first tornado move from southwest to northeast, when the second one came up behind them and destroyed the house

I'm obsessed with watching tornado videos. I'm jealous you get to see such awesome storms. I live in Portland, Oregon, and we don't even get any thunder and lightning.
I'm obsessed too; I just moved to Tulsa, OK. I'm so ready for my first tornado and it's May, the Super Bowl for tornado chasers. Portland rocks too, though. Great town; it's so beautiful there.
Caitlin MacLeod It is beautiful here. I wouldn't want to live in OK, but I sure would like to visit and see a real tornado....but only if I had a storm shelter to go into lol

skyla jaleque why would anyone still be in that house I would of been underground if a tornado is ripping through my backyard
Thankfully they weren’t, and they rebuilt. And then it happened again and they rebuilt lol.
I love the bit where they call an old barn a “whole house” 😂

Well, the tornado might have eaten that house, but so long as it didn't eat anyone it will be easier to rebuild.

Glad my house was okay on May 27th of 2019. I am pretty glad Ohio isn’t a tornado alley this year.
I have dreams where im sucked into tornadoes and it’s really spooky but thankfully my country only has small harmless tornadoes
Was that an EF5?
2:44 that house was no match
Joke: _"Why did the tornado cross the road?"_
I had a dream last night me and my family were looking out the window of our house, and saw a huge tornado, we hid, but the sounds and banging of house materials ripping off was horrendous. It was so vivid and real. The sounds got louder and everything went black, all I could hear was loud noises and could feel myself getting slammed with drywall and furniture.
I awoke with the house in a different spot, my whole family was dead in the crushed house.
It was so real I woke up in a huge pool of sweat. I love tornados but always overlook how deadly they are.
Totally not me thinking it said “tomato destroys house”
Were not in Kansas anymore!
Damnnnn tornado back at it aging with destroying houses
We’re is that tornado warning at
0:13 alguien sabe donde puedo encontrar el video de ese tornado.??
Tornado:- I will destroy every thing 😏
Hurricane:- Am I a joke?? 😑
5 tornadoes around this town? What an unlucky town.
To folks who say no construction can withstand a tornado, I have a structural engineering background, and a house built out of pre-stressed concrete can take a direct hit from an F5. Yeah, the house will have to demolished after and re-built but lives will be saved. The Joplin hospital took a direct hit from an EF5 multi-vortex tornado and most patients inside the hospital survived.
The hospital had to be demolished because it was structurally unsound.
You have a degree in structural engineering, not meteorology. You also have to account for flooding, heat waves, cold snaps, etc. These storms form when hot air collides with cold or dry air. You're literally designing a solar powered brick oven
What?!?! How dare they just sit there and video tape it! They should have gone and stopped that tornado. This is an outrage!!!
Are you stupid a tornado can't be prevented

this is why you don't live in Kansas or Illinois kids
Dude... I live in Kansas. It's not just stereotyped by tornadoes. Why does everyone think that it's stereotyped by tornadoes???
Because of The Wizard of Oz and the famous Andover tornado of 1991.
I live in Vermont and I love tornadoes, how do you think I feel lol
illinois? it hardly gets as many tornados as kansas/ok/tx/etc

Same commentary as Britains 2005 Birmingham tornado from Equinox Special?
😂😂 the first video was recorded in a red late 90s Dodge Ram truck😂😂
Remember the movie twister?
Just like in the Wizard of Oz. We live in Pittsburgh and we watched the Wizard of Oz at a young age and did not know what a twister was and thought that it was impossible to pick up a house.

People in the house:

The real question ishiqis the camera still there
This is why I want to move away from Texas

I live in Texas, in an area that never experiences natural disasters.
Anthony Cassola How are you going to tell someone else where they live and where they want to move out of?!

Imagine getting sucked up by a tornado. That would probably be the worst death besides being burned alive because you'd literally just be getting beat to death by trash and thrown around in circles 100 ft in the air.
that would be just beautiful to me
I used to think the house flying away was the funniest thing ever
Why did the tornado cross the road?
To demolish the house.
