Hello. Future goat owner here. The scenery shots are always spectacular, especially around the frying pan. I just about drooled over that steak. A year has gone by, and I am wondering if you did get goats for backcountry packing?
If so, how goes the adventure?
In the past, I've thought about a mule of even a burro for packing gear that would make for more comfortable camps in wilderness; but, I have to say that watching Firebox Stove videos actually has me considering goats. They certainly are entertaining and much more manageable than I would have thought. Campsite selection certainly does not seem dependent upon available forage as those critters will eat anything!

I have more than a few YT channels that I have subscribed to, but there are only two that I eagerly await new content on. Firebox Stove is one of them. Although I would like videos like this more often, I'm afraid that Steve would need to sacrifice quality for quantity and that isn't something I would wish for. Well done, Steve. Keep producing these and the frequency is just about right!

Yes Scott I can definitely relate! I have been loving dipping my toes into the ADV hobby. I'm just starting to edit my last trip which was in Death Valley. It was quite an adventure! An arm broken into places a foot broken in eight places and a GS off the side of the mountain and almost off a cliff that we were able to recover in good enough shape to complete the trip 👍 😎

If it were really cold out, you could put one little campfire in front of you, and a second fire behind you.

Love your 3 day excursion with the goats and dogs as pack assistants! They seemed to enjoy the trip as much as you were! I love your stove! I bought a Kurig, a little 5" square wood stove and their spirit stove. But I alo bought the Trangia split stove too thinking I could use the woo stove as a wind break for the one spirit stove. I couldn't afford the whole Trangia set up at the time, but I did buy a titanium grill like yours. Expandability means I could conceivably run the two spirit stoves side by side to make a double boiler or to grill a larger amount. I love to cook on the camp trip instead of eating out 0f a dessicared bag. Used to raise goats. They love walking with us. Great that you trained them to port for you!

Another great trip !! You certainly aren't lonely with those wonderful dogs and goats to keep you company. I bought a titanium Nano for my birthday , and look forward to using it this spring in the Sierras. I'm going to use the Taoks siphon alcohol stove with it , and when I run out of alcohol , I'll use it as a wood burning stove.

From UK. Just bought a Firebox stove, to add to my equipment, we love the dogs, and Bill the Goat is just astonishing! Not such wild expanses here, but we've had some great experiences in Norway, Denmark and the Scottish Islands and Highlands, in wintertime. I go motorcycle camping with my 50 year old BMW/Soviet sidecar outfit, and wild camping/hiking. First started camping in 1968, aged 10, and a long way yet from giving up!
