Tip from a baker. Add a pinch of salt to your egg to break down the protein and the 'gloopiness' of the egg glaze so that it is easier to paint on and less like wallpaper paste. It also enhances the glaze when baking 👍
Thank you baby 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Question from a newbie to baking. How critical is the amount of salt when making bread and what kind of salt is best? Thanks. 😎😊
@@stevev3664 ask radio Ray he will help you 😄
@@stevev3664 the amount of salt is critical as it regulates the fermentation and not just flavour. Too much salt well kill the yeast much in the same way it kills slugs do too little and fermentation will be too quick and lose flavour, too much will kill the yeast and therefore produce a more solid loaf.
Ordinary table salt is the usual ingredient. Good luck.
@@Seasidesurfer we all need radio ray in our lives thank you Ray
Literally the best couple on CZcams, keep em coming guys .
Thanks for your support Niall.
Love these two, proper people 👏. Relatively new subscriber and trained chef, but love their approach to cooking and cheeky upbeat disposition - this kind of stuff is what really inspires people to have a go at putting their own food together, not a fillet of sea bass on a tower of celeriac with a white wine and fennel reduction. Keep it up guys, great channel.
Thanks so much
Exactly Alex, all this master chef type fluff is just entertaining, not real world everyday cooking, busy families prefer quick and tasty
@@mikeb3010 you’ve got it one, Mike 👍. Creating fancy food like you see on Masterchef is well and good, but it’s not reality and relatively daunting to your average household. This channel is great because these 2 folks take the fear out of cooking and make it an enjoyable experience with results that won’t disappoint 👍
@@AlexM-sg8fn Bang on Alex 👍
Agree 100%
Sound advice from Sharon to prep for Christmas. You can't beat a proper sausage roll.
Great to see you two supporting independent butchers, so much better than supermarket sausage meat, great video😄
I know this video is over 6 months old but we just received our Cosori air fryer yesterday and could not wait to try it out, best money we have ever spent, the food was unbelievably delicious. As for you two, you have me in stitches, love you guys, you're right up my street, the innuendos have me falling off my chair, keep em coming. xxx
Thank you so much 😁
Sharon, I bet you learned to make that at school, the same as me. We used ordinary sausage meat, and added sage and onion to make it. We learned a lot in cookery years ago, they should still teach it in schools today, band delicious as always. 👍
Home economics we used to get taught. Kids only know processed foods now. it's a shame.
@@butlersempire yes Sharon, you are right, I think everyone should be given the opportunity to learn to cook.
It's years since I made a sausage plaît😋 I used to make them all the time & freeze them because every party or leaving do at work or get together etc & everyone wanted my sausage plaît. It was so easy to make as well. I used to just get pork sausage meat & make a packet of sage & onion stuffing, mix it together & fill the pastry just like Sharon did there. Quick, easy & like they said so tasty hot or cold. Such a versatile dish. In fact I'm going to make one later😋
That's a big sausage plait for to people more for four
Brill. An alternative filling that I know Sharon will love. A recipe given to me many years ago as a vegetarian alternative or just because. You need, 8oz of prepped pastry, short or puff etc, 8oz breadcrumbs, 8 oz grated cheese. 1 large finely chopped or grated onion. 3 Tablespoons of chopped fresh Parsley, chives and 1 tablespoon of mixed herbs. 1-1.5 teaspoons of mustard powder, pinch of Cayenne, salt and ground black pepper. Mix with 142mls of fresh cream. Leave to mingle and use as you would sausage meat. These are so fab and my favourites.
Sounds nice.
Good evening lovely people
Delicious... in my previous life as a caterer I made these plaits on a daily basis and I would put a line of Branston pickle and grated mature cheese on top of the sausage meat ...give it a go and I'm sure your love ....
Thank you and best wishes
😎
I add a line of apple sauce. Delicious as a snack for dinner with veg and gravy.
When I was a kid this was called badger and had lumps of bacon bits mixed in with the sausage meat. My favourite school dinner.
Love you two. Brilliant ideas no faff. And being a veggie, I know!, I can adapt. To be honest, you two have taken the “scare factor” out of air fryers so thank you 🙏
I love your videos so much my father passed away a year ago and I’m now a full time carer for my 83 year old mum having to give up my job I was very down I found your channel and it’s really made me smile again I have been watching your retrorestore as well thank you for your videos hopefully soon I can buy a airfrier which will help me you and your family are lovely people thank you again
Thanks for watching, glad you liked the video Kevin
i make it the same but with a squeeze of tomato ketchup along the full length before cooking and it adds a great taste
Mmmmmmm Mmmmmmmm looks delicious. Definitely going to make these for Christmas. Thanks guys for yet another great idea.
Me and the ex used to make this ages ago, absolutely gorgeous, lattice style with sage I think 🤔
Good stuff you two 👌 quality!!!
What a great idea for Christmas! On boxing day we all get together the family and it’ll be great to make a few of these to take over quick and easy thank you Sharon & Martin
Great looking wish I could taste it as well.
By the way love chief bits as well.
By the way a tip.
Fill your egg glass with water if your whole egg goes to the bottom it's fresh.
Half way a few days old still OK
Floating throw away.
Try it out. Next time
The plait looks great. I have the ninja dual so will do two smaller ones. Love all your recipes.
I love your no nonsense approach, down to earth ,
I ❤️ watching you both always makes me smile
Oh wow, another fantastic video and recipe. Will get this done and ready for Christmas. Thank you so much Sharon and Martin 👍🏻😃👏👏👏👏nice hair too Sharon 👍🏻😃
Thanks Lucy.
delicious
I
make sausage rolls in the air fryer all the time.. i add grainy mustard to the sausage meat, then i sprinkle a mix of nigella seeds and sesame seeds on after the egg wash
My oven is not working atm so am doing so much more cooking with the air fryer and slow cooker. It’s forcing me to try new ideas and your experiments with food is really inspiring me. So, today it was the sausage rolls. I added some grated cheese in with the sausage mix and wow! They are delicious. 👍
A great big slice of that with chips & beans mmmmm
There's nothing better than giving your flaps a good coating... oo err Mrs xx
We absolutely love watching you both, you are down to earth genuine people, we are originally from Portsmouth and have been living in Perth Western Australia for 25yrs,
We see so much of ourselves in you both and you always keep us entertained, we love the nostalgia school dinners, do you remember Manchester Tart ? We would love to see Sharon make that
We have tried quite a few of your recipes and they are superb, have also made rice pudding in the slow cooker and was absolutely amazing,
We are doing the donor meat in the slow cooker next, you inspire us so much

Another great video you two make us laugh 😃 looking foward to more videos
My mouth was watering 😋 watching this, but does most of your videos.
Know what I'm making for dinner tomorrow, yum yum yummy.
I left my laptop on overnight watching cooking shows and this must have been a recommendation from CZcams that automatically played but when I woke up I thought it was the sound of Del Boy from OFAH 😆 Watched a few of ya vids today and I like the dynamic between you two!
Thanks for watching, glad you liked the video
love the down to earth approach, gives me a warm and comforting feeling with added confidence.I also like the waggy tail which crosses the screen!
What a great idea for sausage meat pastry and it looks good and love the platt

Looks lovely, just waiting for my air fryer to arrive and will defo be trying out some of the things you’ve cooked
Hats off to you two, looks amazing, currently binge watching your videos😊
Hi guys, came across your channel a few days ago and really enjoying the content. Especially the old school dinners series you did. When I was a child of the 60's and 70's we used to have fish in batter with parsley sauce chips and peas. I would love to see lovely Sharon making this. Keep up the good work
And all the best to you both. 😃
I had that too Tony.
I absolutely love you both , both down to earth and meals are what everyone can do especially now thank you ❤️❤️❤️
At long last have managed to order a Cosori, I couldn’t wait any longer for a ninja to reappear on the planet, I just hope the Cosori manages to get here without being knocked off! So glad you use the Cosori for some of your recipes, this sausage plait will be the first thing I try, can’t wait❤

Fantastic again, im definitely gonna make that it looks yummy 😋
Thank you for sharing your recipe for sausage plait… I’d like to share mine with you both that will make the sausage meat go further and taste delicious!!
1 packet of paxo stuffing mix, make the stuffing as instructed on the packaging.
Mix it into your sausage meat, then fill your puff pastry as normal.
Or try this other recipe:
400g pork sausage meat
2 heaped tablespoons caramelised onion & chutney
1 tablespoon fresh sage leaves, chopped
250g puff pastry
Salt & ground black pepper to taste.
1 beaten egg for glazing
Directions:
Select Bake, set temperature to 160c and set time to 30 minutes turn on your unit to begin preheating.
Once your unit has preheated, place the sausage plait on parchment paper in the basket cook for 30 minutes.
Enjoy 😊
Try putting some Paxo sage and onion stuffing in the sausage meat... delicious

You guys are awesome and fantastic to watch 🎉
They look fantastic.
Thanks that solves the problem as to what to have for tomorrow(Thursday') night's evening meal
Love watching
Hey
It’s great having two air fryers especially different trays for different things.
Have had two for a while. Love the sausage plait. Will be making that after a trip to the store.
OMG, I love Sharon's expressions at her husband's dramatic reactions while eating 😁 Meanwhile, I want to taste that sausage mix. We have our typical here in the South, US, but wish I could get that here in the States 😑
Fabulous Martin, Sharon loves a sausage, and don’t think I didn’t notice the rimming on the previous video 🤣🤣🤣
lol Steve, no one else did haha, I knew you would lol
That plait looked so professional & tasty, always used to do my home made sausage rolls in the big oven , but I will definitely be doing them in the air fryer from now on 😋👍
Lovely as usual cant wait for next video
It looks great thanks for sharing and it’s a great idea to make them and freeze them until Christmas 🎅
Love watching u too. Can't wait for my air fry. Getting one for Christmas
I didn't want an air fryer but i think I want one now ! great vid keep it up...
Thanks 👍
I think you two are great. I’d never heard of air fryers until I saw your videos. Have just got myself a Cosori and am loving it. Keep up the good work. Thank you.
Our pleasure!
Great video as always. Love sausage rolls/plait could eat them to the cows come home😉 with brown sauce.
Oh they look lovely, love home made sausage rolls yum 😋 😍
Thank you 😋
I did these and my family loved them.x
Looked really tasty. The bigger the sausage the better (as the Actress said to the Bishop)
When Martin went in with that Sausage it was an 18 certificate. Lol
👍🏻👍🏻😁😁
They look amazing , will be giving them a try🤪
Great video guys. Reminds me of my caramelized onion, cheese and bacon plaits, just I make them like a standard-size roll. if you like cheese you love them, so simple to make, caramelize the onion (I use red onion), cook the bacon, dry off the fat from the bacon and onion , mix the cheese and onion together, open out the puff pastry & cut to size cut your plaits, bacon on the bottom then add the cheese and onion as much or as little as you like, fold over the plaits, add egg glaze, air fry for 12 to 16 mins (depending on air fryer ) hope try these and enjoy x
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 oh sharoooon oh baby I love it give me more guys yam in work pissing my pants watching you both so funny with love music as well
Sausage plait looks fab must try it
Love you guys. You've inspired me to buy an air fryer. Can't wait to try your recipes
Hope you enjoy
Hahaha Sharons face when you say you are going in babe. I look forward to that every day. Great recipe both of you. I will defiantly try this one. Take care both of you. Steve.
Adding a diced apple is a good addition. My mum used to make a harvest pie using same ingredients but in pie form rather than plait. Yummy.
Sounds great!
Well, looks great, something new to try in the Airfryer. Thanks!!
Love your channel can you do prepping for Christmas please xx
made this for lunch today , but i added hard boiled eggs down the middle as well . delicious
Sounds great!
I've watched a few of your videos and am really impressed that:
1. You don't waste anything, and
2. You don't burn the food! 90% of the air fryer vids I've seen burn the sh*t out of the food and try to pass it off as something incredible.
So well done, carry on!
Great again xxx good idea to freeze for Christmas xx
Love it. Sausage rolls rock anyway you make them.!
Lovely 😊
Another good one, going to try this tomorrow. Thanks Sharon and martin.👍🥰
You are so welcome
I was just wondering what I could cook for tea tomorrow, so I thought I'd look at your play list for some inspiration! I think I'm going to give this one ago.. I really enjoy these cooking videos.. keep up the good work both.. x

Them sausage rolls looks absolutely delicious Sharon, l think you two are great, love your videos.😋👍
Thanks so much Margaret
You make it look too tasty….crunch, crunch yum, love th3 new hair cut. 👋
Love you two! A great double act. I usually put apple and stuffing in my plait. Never tried it in the air fryer but defo will now.
A suggestion when doing anything like this or Scotch eggs, with sausage meat, have you tried putting stuffing in the sausage meat? Or get flavoured stuffing from Aldi or Lidle or a supermarket own brand flavored stuffing.
Sounds good Rita
The sausage plat looked fantastic i am going to make it this week i will add some sage and onion stuffing to the sausage meat sharon you are a good cook and you know how to make wonderful meals without breaking the bank best wishes from sue and vic
