  • I stumbled upon this air fryer that uses AI (Artificial intelligence) to scan the food and determine what it is, it's weight and how long it should be cooked for. Ultimate 'one touch' cooking ... - or is it just glorified presets?

    • @starlucanyaart
      @starlucanyaart Před 4 dny

I honestly wouldn't let AI take over MY life or my world. I mean that i decided to not use AI. Why? Because i just don't need it. I don't want to fall in the illusion that i need it. Because i prefer to express my own intellectuality and creativity, or anything i'm able to do by myself. I see that many people delegates too much things to AI, including teenagers to make their homework....So what would happen, if people use AI to replace their own aptitudes. Creativity is already taken over by AI, and many real artists struggles because of that. What will happen if someone would wrote a book with AI and would become rich and famous? AI is the danger of illusion, that it could create so many things, that it would slowly replace humans abilities. We already make this mistake by using connected objects to turn off the light AT OUR PLACE....So do you imagine the catastrophy of AI taking over our intellectuality, and creativity? Would humans still able to make things by themselves?
I don't find AI revolutionnary, but dangerous for Humanity. It's not because it's high technology that it's great. It's just bring this illusion. I don't see that as an experience...By cons, when i write a book by myself, when i draw by myself, when i think by myself, or many others things i'm able to do...I make my own experience.
The problem with AI and many products connected is the promise of experiences....Making us believe that we couldn't do experiences by ourself, with our own faculties. The experience of AI stay a faked and superficial way to have some sensations or excitement in our lives...But it litterally corrupt the link with ourself.
So it's seen as revolutionnary, and it's exactly the problem. Many people falls in the trap of illusions. Instead to be encouraged to use our own faculties, we are encouraged to replace this faculties by AI faculties. It's exactly like that that big compagny trap us in many way and make us buy stuffs we don't need. Because they put the idea of happiness, experiences, faculties on superficial things.
While i learned that we already have a lot of treasures in ourself. It' s so fullfilling, when you make something with YOUR aptitudes./ Don't delegates or replace your ability to think and to BE by something artificial. Stays humans and simple, guys. We don't need AI or connected objects...We need the best connection ever, the connection with nature and with our souls...
But many people have forget that. When i'm outside, and that i'm the only one still listening the song of the birds, and keeping my smartphone in my bag, while all others people have their nose in their phone, and don't even hear the birds anymore.....I see that we have already lost our part of humanity.I don't think we should live through a program. We are humans. We have a brain, that we don't use at his highest value, and you want AI to take over the world? So no, i don't see where it's revolutionnary to transform us into robots. Mostly for our teenagers, that would slowly think that machine are here to do everything at our place. They already live too much by their phones and social network...So with AI...i guess they wouldn't be able to do anything by themselves.
But humans are so corrupted by big company that they let big company says what they need to be or to have in order to be happy. Live by your own parameters, guys, not the parameters of someone else, mostly if it come from a big company that make all for money.

The Dreo Chefmaker is the way to go for air-frying meat. It's also "AI" in that you put a temperature probe into your meat of choice, tell the air fryer what it is, and how you want it cooked, and it goes to town using multiple cook stages and temperature curves. It also has a water atomizer the inner/outer temperature. I've had one for awhile, and it does a pretty good job. Not "restaurant" quality, but definitely pretty good for home-cooked in an oven.

Ever since I got a Ninja Foodi AirFryer with two baskets so I can cook two different things at their own settings (and match the cooking times so it’s done at the same time), I couldn’t go back to a single basket machine. That said, the window is a pretty nice addition and I wouldn’t mind having that.

Another great vid. I sort of use my airfryer with meat like I do a BBQ. Strange but fun, lol. You can do low and slow and probe the meat as you go. Or hot and fast.
I Like the AI but nothing beats a good probe for temps. Would love to see you get hold of the Ninja woodfire for a play.

  • @xxPenjoxx

Suggestion if you want to see if it adjusts according to how 'done' the food looks.
I would try adding raw chips to have it detect the chips preset. Then, at the first shake, put a different batch back in. Ie chips that have had 12 mins in your other airfryer. Then you can see if the a.i. part can adjust it to match.
I think trying it on basic chips would be fairer to the machine than the whole chicken on presets. Its hopeful seeing that it auto adjusted the times though.
That roast beef looked absolutely banging, btw.

In 2021 I moved from Cambridgeshire to Southern Japan with my wife & 2 children, although I was expecting this it was still a shock to find that the majority of Japanese homes do not have a traditional oven like we do in Europe, they cook everything on the hob, in a toaster or microwave or kettle or BBQ, ok I’ve gotten used to it, but two of our major purchases since arriving was an enormous microwave/convection oven combination & an air fryer & like you I deliberately chose a model with the viewing window to see the food cooking, my real culture shock was not being able to buy a whole chicken, or a pork beef or lamb joint, if you can find them these will only be available the end of December, food is very seasonal here no leeks in summer, no strawberries or kiwi in winter, when cooking a chicken in the air fryer whole turn it upside/breast down, or spatchcock the bird & cook breast down, or dissect it!.

You should try the Dreo air-fryer which does air-fry but actually is a whole lot more. It has a compartment you fill with water which mists the food to keep it moist and it as a probe which monitors the foods temperature. It connects to an app on your phone too, has a viewing window and keeps a track on the display and your phone as to what temperature it is at and how long is left. There are different cooking choices like sous-vide and classic and probe. It looks fab if a bit expensive so I don't have one but seems like something you could try out for us Barry?!lol

Otherwise, gimmicky as the AI image recognition is, it seems to work fairly well for common ingredients.

I feel like it'd be nice if it was a bit more customizable. Like, for example, if you could get it to record new recipes.
Shove in something new, push a button somewhere to tell it that it's a new dish, the give manual instructions and afterwards have it save how its supposed to look like when done, so that next time you put in that dish, it'll recognize it automatically and load up your instructions.
