Always wondered about this topic.
Another big angle which not everyone recognizes is that after Pac's deal w/ Suge for (I believe) a 3 album contract to get him out of jail, Pac came out with that 'All Eyez on Me' double album, which in Pac's mind was 2/3 of the albums owned, but Suge was pressed because he felt like it was only 1 album technically. So the dispute of whether the double album counted as 1 or 2 of the 3 was a source of a lot of tension and ultimately pushed Suge to retaliate for the $ owed in his mind... also knowing he had a lot of Pac's recordings in his name under Death Row, eliminating Pac would give him the posthumous rights to the rest of Pacs recordings....
