Thanks, Joe. It's true about the stages of grief, first stage being denial. Each individual's journey through prison is a traumatic process that can be understated as such. Some people can't make it, death by murder or suicide in jail. I'm glad some people, including jurors, actually had empathy for Jacob. Of course, some people will argue this, always want the harshest punishments for people no matter what, even wrongful convictions. They fail to see things through the prisoner's eyes. Justice does not always mean punishment as Jacob's story so eloquently presents. But haters want to see it their way. Makes me sick.
I love having you back Joe, ❤ this is the best content you have maybe ever had. You need to tattoo someone, someone tattoo you. :-) wish you could revisit some older videos for us real fans you being older wiser. At worst it be like the Rolling Stones playing there greatest hits
Thanks Joe!!!
Joe’s interview skills have improved so much over the years. This series is very engaging and a cautionary tale. Keep up the good work!
What a story should be made into a film
Wow!!! can i say another incredible piece of your story Jacob and i want to thank you for that and thank you jow
Jow 😂😂😂
This story is absolutely gripping! I don’t wanna look away. I’m from Tennessee too, wonder what part he’s in? Amazing man, u did so awesome on this one Joe! One of the best interviews u have ever done!
I'm from a little town called Baxter but I'm living and working in gallatin.
@sky_watcher86 nice name. 😉
He said middle Tennessee or Middleton Tennessee in their first interview
Agreed
East Tennessee here my parents live in mount juliet not far from Gallatin
Nothing more disgusting than duty to retreat, other than dirty prosecutors. "Turn your back to someone attacking and trying to kill you or you're going to prison".
I work driving at night. Can’t wait to listen to this part tonight! Thanks again Jacob! God bless!
thank you for listening. ❤
Thanks for part 2. Great story so far. Obviously, i dont know the guy, but he seems like a kind hearted quite guy sucks this happened to him.
Been here since you made the how to make a tattoo gun video hella years ago! Glad you’re still kicking ass bro!🎉
hella
Joe comin' back at us with the bangers. It's been a long time since I've been this excited for any content, from any channel, and I'm glad it's APS.
I can definitely see why the cops and lawyers all respect this guy. He’s got my respect as well.
thank you sir. that means a lot to me.
What's up Joe? I've been rocking with you since the beginning. Thanks for keeping up the great work, bud.
Joe back on the grind. Jacob is a great story teller and seems like such a genuine dude man. What a story!
Also Joe. Any chance of linking up with Banky sometime 👀?
Good job reeling him back and keeping the timeline in place. Kudos, Joe!
One of the best interviews on the channel to date.
Everything this dude is saying is 100% true. We were locked up on the High Bail unit with me in the late 2000’s. Always a good humble dude who went up against a rough situation and came out the other side. Salute 🫡. Glad that his story is getting out.
❤ thank you bro
This is a great story, Thanks for bringing it, Joe. Wishing him all the best.
Great interview and this dude is a straight survivor and clearly has a good soul!

No disrespect but did you ever get your cheeks clapped?
Damn 235k is not enough for what they did. It sure helps but not enough. Glad to hear this story and outcome. You got a lot of people praying for you. Im in Tennessee too. This could have been me or anyone else.
it was 225k and after paying the attorney I ended up with 135k
Thanks for this story Joe!
Jake bro known you damn near 40 yrs glad your home and praying for you and your family. Keep your head up.
Y'all struck gold with this meetup. APS 4 Lyfe
"A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush" is very wise old saying in certain situations!
I am really happy this guy made it out..he didnt mean it and he was getting bullied..poor guy..it can happen to anyone..really sad he had to serve the time he did..
I just subscribed to your channel bro.
Jacob seems like a good dude, and as many other people have said, this story is very gripping man! APS4L!
I remember this win it happened. My mom told me about it. Because are last name is gentry as well
APS back with a vengeance!
Anxious for part 3
🎉🎉.. I live in dirty Jersey all my life... I have been through the prison system also Trenton state prison is nothing to play with only been there one time to get my life that prison made it feel like you were in a dungeon...grey walls.... my brother was in Rahway... another messed up prison... I can understand how he feels with a public Pretender trying to help you out...crazy....🎉🎉....JJ...😅
Atleast I know I'm not the only one crying.
I'm born and raised in trenton nj and I've heard nothing but bad shit all my life about trenton state prison
Your like the phoenix riseing the channel out the ashes
It's nuts how the prison system gets a hold of a lot of young guys, and it's not until a long time later you hear their story. And the charge doesn't always fit the crime. Just stating the obvious. It will never change.
It's all a government run business ether State or federal and they profit off the inmates working Penny's on the dollar almost modern day slavery so of course they Wana keep them locked up
Thats the prison industry for you. They have to keep certain amount of people in prison to be profitable industry.
Each prisoner brings 6-14k USD profit for industry.
So the 1 year is not good if you can get 30 from 1 customer.
@pepevonkek7803 State prisons are not meant to be profitable. One state institution is paying another state institution (the prison) to operate. There is no "profit". No judge is giving an excessive sentence, so the prison can be "profitable", that's just silly. It's simply one government institution paying another. It's the exact same as how a school gets paid per student.
@JeffDavis-hg2to makes sense. He's lucky he got out as soon as he did by a jury vote.
Moral of the story: #1 stay away from strippers #2 stay away from bars
This shit is crazy.. I can't wait to hear more, or see where aps can take this story. This is shit people need to hear, cause in a blink of an eye it could be you telling your story..
Moral of this story...dont be a bully! Because 1 day, you'll bully the wrong person & that will be it...seen it too many times🙄
Hes one that deserves to be free & i hope he has a great & happy life 🇬🇧✌️🇺🇲
thank you ❤❤❤
Mannn I had a PD in KY Cody (can't remember but he's a judge now) but dude was a BEAST!!!!!! Got 5 felonys dismembered off 1 technical error so they out their!!! They the 1's who got bigger dreams and goals and really are goin places. Again dude the judge now..been 15 years ago 🤷 owe that man half my life Fr fr
Jacob’s a great man… you can definitely tell🏆👊👊👊❤️
thank you bro. I appreciate that. ❤
nice name by the way. 😉
This story has a lot to it. Good job with trying to keep it in order Joe. I looked this story up and found his brother was involved too. I wonder if he was released also? And the girl.... what happened with her? I have so many questions. Will he be back for part 3?
they basically kept my brother and Emily hostage for 4 years trying to get them to tell on me then released them after I got convicted. they both pretty much got time served
At least this guy's story is true unlike joker
Damn great video!
I just subscribed to Jacobs channel.
thank you ❤❤❤
I just subscribed to Jacob's channel.
thank you.❤❤❤
I live in NJ and he’s right about it here. There’s definitely some shady ass cops here too
Been waiting
Man they wouldn't leave this damn guy alone. He should have never be convicted of murder. Cops said mutual combat, dude started it. For the same reasons he got out, he never should have went in.
What actually was the cause of the guy's death? Did he go down and hit his head? Was it from the impact of the punch? Would be interesting to know.
medical examiner said blunt force trauma to the head.
@@jacobsladder111 I see and thanks for the response! Be well!
Keep this Up
Thanks guys I'm looking for to your channel and sorry you had to go through that.
❤❤❤
Incredible story - go Joe and thank you Jacob!
thank you ❤️
Jacob is awesome, im so happy for him, I hope he finds happiness in life.
Nice video joe imagine if you were there it'd be a movie
WILD!!! wow. idk if a Part 3 is needed ... maybe that is about his after prison life?!
this whole story is wild. it makes you think about life and how we all have a purpose for something. maybe part of jacob's purpose was getting that precedent established. the whole situation is unfortunate for everyone involved though.
yeah I think that's what part 3 is going to be about
Good stuff
I really would love to hear the third degree on the fight. I read the article on him and Jacob apparently beat the shit out of him. I am curious how it all went down.
This guy will end up being on a true crime podcast soon.
Joe you are on fire 🔥 keep it goin don't start slacking off
Want to hear a sad story... This happens every day in every state in this country. we're told is the land of the free!
Stay in school
Amazing story
Would love to know the time of events kind of. Like what spectators said happend during / after the fight?
Iv been waiting on this killer vid to drop
Joe, are you on the plastic? I love this interview and his story and him!!!
❤❤❤
Here is some valuable feedback: I really like this type of content, but I do think this can reach a broader audience, like I didn't watch this video, only listened to it while watching a game of Dota 2 :) So for you reach as many as possible I would post it multiple platforms, this can maybe be on Spotify even. I don't listen to podcasts really so don't know their platforms, but this type of content can for sure fit in there too.
$225,000 settlement is sweet but they took years away. I’d imagine he was making 6 figures on the pipeline. Still, being exonerated is amazing and for once, the justice system worked
out of that 225, I got to keep 135k
@@jacobsladder111people can do 3 things with their money:
1) Spend
2) Save
This is what most people do and go anywhere as inflation will eat this all away and you end up poor.
What's inflation annually? 8.5%
Only thing to keep you in current level or getting better life is do what rich people do...
3) Invest.
Be smart with money. Only use it where your money makes more money. If you can't beat 8.5% annually your settlement just disappear soon.
Best of luck mate!
Great Story
I feel the same way about animals. I saw a documentary about people who lived in the holler and they showed the old bastard wringing a chickens neck write off the jump. Just joking, she looked like the sweetest old lady. Man she was that chicken's Jason Voorhees at that moment. I'm seriously considering becoming a vegan starting with ordering the Impossible Whopper next time I go to BK. Thanks for sharing your experience. Wow! And, Joe, your an excellent video journalist. Never take that for granted.
Awesome story best wishes forward, Salutes from Atlanta A.P.S.
Man if that don't make you second, third think about dating, gotta be an serious after thought to remember
A.P.S. Yall! Peace!✌
Great video. Definitely going to subscribe to his channel
❤❤❤
Was the bully dude who got it a local in the area?
he was from Oklahoma
This is a testament to how modern women are. If she wasn't in the picture, none of this would've happened. Think about that, boys
Men have been killing for centuries for women.
True..i agree
Very true. Look at what happen to Chris that Joe just featured. It envoled a female.
The little bit I have paid attention to with some high profile court proceedings I really don’t understand. I thought there was a thing called double Jeopardy where you couldn’t be charged with the same crime twice?
So how do some of these guys get charged with murder in the first-degree murder in the second-degree aggravated manslaughter reckless homicide, all at the same time, but only one guy died?
This system is completely corrupt, the prosecutors, the judges, the cops, and the public defenders all know each other. They all go to each other‘s kids baseball games as George Carlin said it’s a big club and we ain’t in it
What a story, that could be anyone.
He’s a very lucky Man and sounds like a good one also
❤❤❤
What a story
Jacob seems like a helluva guy. Glad he is free and able to share his story with us. Messed up situation for sure. Subbed to his channel at Jacobsladder if anyone else is interested in following his journey
thank you ❤
What a crazy story!
Wish we could hear a more detailed not so all.over the place story. Im kinda lost after this 😂
This is a fascinating story. Sad as well. Ruben Carter the hurricane was also a true story & fascinating. Scary what can happen in an instant.
The Hurricane great song about him.
@@jojo683 yes, it sure is.
Crazy deal.
I’m terribly confused. So I just looked up the case. He just spent 3-4 years in prison. Which is horrible. She also was convicted. Was his brother?
I agree. Joe you should have went to Tennessee. This is very hard to follow
Ok. I just found Jerrod was convicted also. All 3 were released upon his overturn case.
I’m on track now
they were released after I lost my first trial. they were basically held hostage so they could try and get them to testify against me.
This my best friend/Brother great dude man he will give you the shirt off his back and his last dollar
❤ to you all the best
I would of liked to heard more bout the victim what caused the death and maybe a hey let this be an example this what could happen if you hit someone
Feel so bad for you, dude.
don't feel bad for me. it's the hardships and heartache that made me who I am. I have an appreciation for everything I have that most people could never comprehend. if it wasn't for the bad, there wouldn't be any good. ❤❤❤
