I bot my for 200€ 6ares ago now its 270€ in EU 10€+- stupid expensive but realy good customer service and they send mee what i need if Omega brakes i must hawe one two pairs cos shiping is 1month. But it's 82grams and its crazy durable and good in hand for work.

this is def late in coming but I hit the like button bc this was a great review, although Im still in the 940 camp. I think that most of the differences will settle on subjective personal preferences, ie. what blade shape you prefer or do you want the lightest and thinest package possible, or something more solid/robust. Bugout is def that “latest and greatest” but time will tell if it will be a classic. great work mate, will def sub to this channel

Bugout vs 940... really? 940 wins all for me. I have the 940-1 and it's a great EDC.
The 940-1 is a really sweet knife. I have owned many pocket knifes in my life, but non was like the 940-1. It’s nimble but strong, it’s small but still has big blade. The carbon handle with the blue spacer’s look’s beautiful. Just one heck of a knife..
I’ve got the 940 and I really like it. The G10 comes in handy when the knife gets wet. The bugout feels a bit cheap but it was made that way for flexibility and durability 👍🔪 Appreciate & respect the comparison... but I’d still choose both LOL

I got the aircraft aluminum bugout with the s90v steel, and it’s great all around.
I own both and The Bugout is my day knife, and the 940 dress up night knife.
I have both of these knives now. I contacted benchmade to see if they would send me a deep carry for the 940 but they aren’t giving them out for free anymore. They only give out the stock clips…so I’m gonna request one for my bugout lol. Love these knives!
I love the Bugout! I got the brass scales for it and they are awesome, it gives it a little weight and patinas beautifully .
I love my Small Sebenza 21 and my new favorite edc the Bugout
I own both of these and really like them. I put a longer clip on the Bugout - the shorter clip was way too tight to get in and out of the pocket. Maybe I'll put it back on and try it again.

The Bugout is great, took me a while to warm to it but now carry it around the house when wearing shorts all the time. Won't ever get rid of my 940 though its just got so many points for stoyle
The bugout looks nice but I can't get past the cheapness of the feel. No I don't have one but every reviewer I've seen comments about how it feels cheap. I really want a 940 though, basically my dream knife
Curious if the omega springs are the same in both knives? The springs in my Bugout CF Elite broke after only 60 days. Now I carry a Spyderco Endela. I’d seriously consider a 940 if I knew the omega springs would survive long enough for me to pay off the credit card purchase.
Bought one used and rusty spring broke fast. Bought after market ones on Amazon for like 9 bucks (4 pairs) and they haven’t broken on my and I fidget with it all the time

I was looking for a 940 when I say the Bailout M4 on discount and had to buy that, but now I’m thinking I should’ve done more research on the Bugout. It’s cheaper and I really like the S30V steel. M4 is great, but I worry about corrosion resistance down the road. I know you can customize the bugout and get a G10 handle which I didn’t see anyone else mention.
How has that bailout held up? I’m thinking about getting it because of the glass breaker but I don’t want to worry about a knife that expensive rusting

I have four Bugouts and love them. However, I just HAD TO have a 940 Osborne with the green Aluminum handle so I’m sitting here waiting for its delivery…!
I have a mini Bugout and have no problem with the plastic scales. Actually it became my favourite knife for EDC. I have no experience with 940 and probably never will. It's too funky looking to my taste with all those curves and angles. It's what I would cary were I to cosplay a Romulan from Star Trek (Any Spyderco for Klingon :D)

I’ve had the all black bugout 2 weeks now and I “get it” now. At first the scale flex and weight had me thinking it seemed a bit cheap but after 2 weeks of carrying it I understand the point. Thin and light is a very nice combo, especially now in the summer wearing shorts every day. I will surely own this knife until I die.
Yeah everyone seems to ( get it now ) but the fact is you're paying over $100 for a peice of plastic that flexes.

@@longlegcraig the Carbon fiber elite that I have is $144 now. The scale flex is minimal compared to the standard version.
Did you loose the knife yet? Its usually around 2yrs later you snap the point or loose it.

Bugout is great, if you want a knife that disappears in your pocket. It’s great for NORMAL EDC tasks, like opening boxes and packages, mild cord /rope cutting, etc. it isn’t as robust a knife, if you’re doing heavy duty/abusive use, so the 940 wins in that department. Bugout is also 40 bucks cheaper.
If you watch the torture tests you’ll see that the Bugout is every bit as tough as the 940!
Im cool with some plastic on my pistol but not my knife. Its in my hand for extended periods of time. Good old green Aluminum 940 for me

Depends on what you mean by “work”. The bugout cuts and slices better. The 940 would feel more substantial but I had no problems with the bugout cutting harder stuff. 940 works better when you apply torque on the blade sideways due to the thicker blade.

I like the design of both but their just too light, I prefer a knife 5-7 ounces
You'd be wanting a Contego then, or perhaps a Rift. Me, I like my EDC to be lightweight but solid. I like the blade on the Bugout and the shape of the scales is pretty nice as well, but in the hand it doesn't really work for me like the Mini Grip or the Mini Freek. And it's certainly no match for my 940🤗
Nothing wrong with keeping both. I have the super freak the Bug out and now I want the 940. I have paramilitary2 also but I think I like benchmade more. I like the PM2 but the Axis lock just does it for me.
You know you don't have to pay the butterfly tax for the axis lock anymore. There are plenty of companies making axis style locks. Hogue and kizer I'd both recommend to you. Love the deka (hogue) and the drop bear (kizer) is phenomenal. Not knocking Benchmade but now there are way more options when you're looking for the axis/bar style lock

Lol before this I had one knife and I used it for everything. Just picked up the 940 Osbourne 2 days ago. I think I have a problem 😂

That Bugout looks a bit more stout, might get one for the backpack. Not big on the grivory though. Current EDC is a WE Subjugator [carbon/titanium], PM is a ZT452CF.
Don't really use my SOG Flash II Black Tini anymore since getting into the knife hobby a bit.
940 for me. Still is extremely lightweight and thin. I also prefer the sturdy feel of it more. (Yes I know the bugout is strong enough too)

940 all the way I’ve broke a bug out. Feels cheap in my hand definitely not a hard work knife at all.
Man great review 🤙🏼 just received that same bugout as my first Benchmade, I was very skeptical with it the first day, now I'm hooked. A week later, I also EDC a sidearm & I always have "things" in my pockets. I've been carrying some type of utilitarian blade in my pockets for 15+ years also, usually a Leatherman. This blade is absolutely my favorite now. It just disappears in my pocket. I do not carry it at my current job so when I switch over to my civilian cloths 😆 that bugout is ready to roll. I also live in the mountains so I need something strong. I just throw mine on the ground & rubbed some dirt on her 😆 feels better now. But I just paid $170 from SMKW 😭

I have both, basic day carry is the bugout, it's the basic bitch of my collection. On the homestead i just grab the 940, its the ten year old pickup truck, drive it into a ditch, drive out of a ditch, know one knows when you got home you drove through a ditch.
I don't like the bugouts, but the mini bugout is in my opinion the best BM has released since the griptilian series.

Why would you ever pry something with a knife that is basically optimized to be a proficient slicer? That’s basically the definition of “wrong tool for the job”.
I wouldn’t pry anything with any of my folding knives either, even my thick ass triad-lock Cold Steels. Yes, some knives can take prying better than others but that’s not what pocket knives are for.

lets see you use a drill as a hammer or sand paper as TP. You will also find that you are unhappy with the results

You really can’t.... a lot of people think they’re similar knives but I don’t see it.... I do want to get the g10 20cv BHQ exclusive but that’ll be later down the road

Well easily. Some people don't recognize legacy or tradition as an qualities enhancing an actual object. Same way Sebenza or Buck 110 are outdated, just still having strong following because of their past reputation.

Flexing scales on a knife, no chance. 940 will out work the bugout, 940 better allround knife. Comparing the weight on those knives ffs. People open mail with their knives and then do reviews in most cases not even that.
My 940-1 broke quicker than my Bugout. Yes, my Bugout broke too, but that's just because of my line of work. No knife will last more than 9 months with what I do. My Cold Steel Recon 1 broke last month on its 9 month birthday. The 940 broke in about 12 weeks, the Bugout last 5 months.

Get a Hinderer XM-18 3.5” - I am a painting and drywall contractor, and do stucco work incidentally. I use my knives for scraping paint from wooden fascia’s, digging out cracks in stucco(concrete), cutting plastic sheeting, and scouring & cutting drywall, and using it as a hammer in certain situations, amongst other things and haven’t had a single issue with it yet at 3 years. In all fairness, I’ve beat the sht out of a Griptilian for a number of years as well. People have a hard time spending $450 on a KNIFE to be used as a tool - but when you buy it as a TOOL that just happens to be a knife, then it all makes sense! There are tools that I spend $5000 - $6000 on, and they don’t get babied, neither do my knife/tools… if they make your job easier, and make you money, it’s easily justifiable

I was between the pm2 and 940 went with the 940 due to size but spyderco makes great knives I own a couple personally i think they are a bit ugly
i went with a s35vn pm2 over the 940 and it's just so damn big, first time i dropped it there went the tip. I'll have a 940 in my pocket real soon.
