what brand of rubber gasket do you use. also 4"dwv pipes does rubber work better than wax?
yep.. if you lift the toilet for any reason. wax needs replaced.

Have you ever caulked the edges of a bowl after installation? I’ve seen vids where some plumbers do it and others don’t
I typically do caulk the base of a toilet myself. But I know plumbers that don’t like it either.
What is a toilet gasket supposed to help with?? Is it supposed to help with a cushion between the floor and the toilet? Thank you in advance for the help ☺️
It creates a seal between the toilet and the pipe below it that drains away the toilet water.

My father is near retiring and he is still doing it…65ish…
@@Kennymolotov that’s cool. Since I just hit 43 I occasionally get hit with the self doubt about getting into the trades thinking I’m too old. So it’s nice to hear there’s guys in their mid 60’s still doing it
You’ve got plenty of time friend…don’t get discouraged…finding something you enjoy or love is your right no matter what your age.
