People keeping 2 dollar bills because you don’t see them very often are the exact reason why you don’t see them very often.
I tell people that in comments all the time.
Actually you can get them at nearly any bank, there are millions in circulation.
During the recession in Connecticut, I was withdrawing red seal $2's pretty frequently from banks. The oldest I found was series of 1928 G, the last of the 1928 series notes. It's pretty beat up. I did find some pretty crisp 1963s and 1953s, so I kept those.
I love the random things that I learn on CZcams

@Donald two bucks.
I was holidaying in America from Australia and went into a bank when I was in New York and got a $10 exchanged for 5 of them. The people in the bank were very intrigued by my "odd" request. I wanted some, just for the novelty factor.
The bank did have them, right? Most will, but some don't carry any and have to order them when you request them.

first bank had them but the vault was closed (I literally got there 5 mins late), second bank got them straight away

I have a 1953 ,red seal, no star h in the upper left corner and the lower right has the letter H6 on it.
The top is a United States Note.
I understand that they are the ones that are sought over.

Mike Wilson Yeah I also have those... 1928 Red seal, 1953 Red seal, & 1963 (In God We Trust) Red seal.
Not rare.
Love them all! Spend them, tell others about them, educate your grandchildren about them. They provide a great history lesson, too.
Larry, you're the best spokesperson this channel has!
I never notice the state note I notice the silver silver cirtafic
Gold coins, older 18th century currency, and just generally older coins are rare. I get twos all the time as a cashier. Especially from kids who inherited it and decided to get a slurpee with their grandparents inheritance lol
I’ll take it a step further since this sparked a memory. A few years back I requested some 2 dollar bills and was given them (this was at the bank) and then she nicely asked if I wanted to order some. I would never had thought of it or asked cuz I felt a little like a nerd but at any rate I said yes and a few days later they left a message and said they were in. A hundred dollars worth, brand new, in wrappers and sequential. Finally my thirst was quenched. Ultimately I spent them al but it’s Christmas time so maybe it’s time again for more since banks typically get more now. It’s been a while but I further remember asking for them and getting one or two from before the 40s I’m thinking 1938 or so. Apparently tellers don’t differentiate weird looking bills cuz these really should have been taken out of circulation since they were really wrinkly. Anyways to make a long story longer my wallet straightened them out and I still have all except one which was so bad it hurt me to look at it so it became part of someone’s tip. Not a stripper if that’s what you’re thinking.
I have one of these 2 dollar bills, how much can i get for it? And where would i go to sale it?
i have a. 2 dollars. bill in mint condition and is a silver certificate 1957 (a) standard $2 bill in good condition wonder how much it's. worth?
Does anyone know how much they sell for?
I have a question, on the back of my 2 dollar bills I notice that some are not centered on the back. Some or I should say one bill is taller on top than bottom.
On one or two the edge on the sides are wider than others.
It is clearly evident they was not centered. Aren't they worth more?
They are not. If they were PERFECTLY centered, and in mint condition, they could be worth more, because a pristine bill printed perfectly is worth something to collectors. But if it's off center a little, it's never going to be worth anything greater than face value. That goes for all denominations. If you found the full documentary on my channel and go into the second hour, there's a collector who shows off perfect bills and explains this further.
Tim Canova! He's a Berniecrat who opposed Debbie Wasserman Schulz for her seat in Florida's 23rd Congressional District, managed to drum up a lot of national support. I'm really surprised to find him here!

I have a red seal United States note series 1963A. I can’t find it’s worth anywhere. Can someone help me out please. Thanks
There are more factors involved than just the series year. There is no set value. Call a local coin & currency dealer, or find a similar bill on eBay and see what it goes for. I doubt it's worth more than $10, if that.
Say if I could get a 1976 all gold 24k with serial number all 9s. And more errors to it. How much is it worth
And its a U.S.A
I have a question. I have a handful of two dollar bills from $1935. However, I do not see 1935 as one of the years of production.
Can anyone explain that?
You can find my email address on the ABOUT tab of this channel and send a picture. I can't answer the question without seeing it except to say that what you have is probably a novelty of some kind.
I have 1953 B series red seal 2 dollar bill
A 1963 United States note with the red seal is worth about $8 in uncirculated condition... Even a 1953 note is worth only about $10 in uncirculated condition. The ones that are worth more have low serial numbers, or a serial number beginning with a star.
Correct! Serial numbers and star notes are addressed in the film. But most people think all $2s are worth more than $2, and that simply isn't the case.
I recently came across a 1953 $2 bill with the red seal. It’s in pretty good shape, far from perfect, but I assume it’s worth a little something? It’s off centered as well, the white border on one side is twice as wide as the white border on the other side.
So hard to say, but it is worth more than $2. It depends on condition and other factors. You can bring it to a local coin & currency dealer for a true appraisal.
it's not like you'd see a 2 dollar bill everyday. i got one yesterday and planning to keep it since its not as easy as getting a dollar/5.10.20.50. and a hundred dollars bill
You can go to the bank and get as many as you want. If they don't have them on hand they will order them for you.

I've encountered more 2 dollar bills than 50s and 100s. It seems like more and more businesses aren't taking the 50s and 100s because of counterfeiters
Shit i used to have a 1950s $2 bill in crisp condition but I lost it a long time ago.

Two dollar bill
Somebody help. Idk if this is right, but I found a 2 dollar bill that said "series 2013". At first I thought this was fake, but then I looked at secretary of the treasury and the treasurer of the United States in 2013, and they matched the ones on the bill. Is it fake, or is it worth more than 2 dollars?
Btw I don't think they made prints of 2 dollar bills in 2013
They did print more $2 bills in 2013, and they have the year 2013 on them. Your bill is just worth $2. They have never stopped printing $2s. They don't do it every year, but they are still being printed, and 2013 is the last series issues. Go spend what you have!
In the 70s I remember using 2.00 bills all the time. Arrested. Yikes.
i have so much of $2 bills..i dnt know what to do on them..
Spend them! They are regular currency and are just worth $2 unless you have them with a red seal, like the video shows.
If u have a united States note 2 dollor bill is how.much?
I'm not a currency dealer, so I can't assess your bill's worth. But it depends on whether it's a 1928, 1953 or 1963, and of course what condition it's in. I'd first look for similar bills on eBay to see how they're selling.
I have a 1976 two dollar bill with a 13 cent utah bicentennial postage stamp on it that has been postage cancelled on April 13 1976 in Jefferson TN. The bill and stamp cancelled together.Whats the deal.
Valuable! April 13, 1976 was the first day the new $2 bills were
released. Some people took them to the post office and had them stamped
to confirm it was a first-day issue - it's proof that the bill was
received on the first day it was released to the public. Value depends
on condition, but it varies based on the collector. Search eBay for
some, price it similarly. Or keep it... it's a true collector's item now
that it has that stamp and seal.
I have 1s 2s and 5s even some confederate...my gramps left me 10 years ago.
Will you sell them?
I forgot to ask about the left side of the bill THIER IS THE CONER HAS BEEN TAKING OUT. SOME ONE TOLD ME ONCE THAT THEY USED TO DO THAT ON ALL TWO DOLLARS BILL THE RED ONE FOR GOOD LUCK. I HOPE SOME ONE ANSWER MY QUESTION?
Corners were ripped off of $2 bills to REMOVE bad luck! So maybe the bill is lucky for you, but for someone else, it wasn't.
It was like that when i got it.why was paper money called notes
I just took my red $2.00 bills to 20 different stores 5 different banks all of them told me it’s only worth $2.00 they can’t make it higher then what it says on the dollar bill so paying someone higher then $2.00 isn’t worth it I’ll except it if the stores agree and the banks
You definitely don't want to spend red seals bills! Yes, the cashier cannot take money for more than its face value. If you brought in a 50-year-old $500 bill, it would get you $500 in merchandise. But it's worth more than that. Take those bills to a coin & currency dealer, or check comparable values on eBay, if you want to fetch more than face value.
@@TheTwoDollarBillDocumentary the real value is what’s its worth to retail stores not what ebay thinks it’s worth the scalpers they think everything is worth a lot of money that you can’t see anymore I’m not a scalper I’m not interested in cheating people
Mmmm The 2 dollars bill is worth as face value in the USA, but elsewhere in the world such as China, Hong Kong, Viet Nam, Taiwan the 2 dollars bill actually value as much as 25 USD, or even 100 USD with the 8888 series number. Asian people collect $2USD like collect stamp or coin. As far as I have known, $2 USD printed in 1976 worth as much as regular $5 dollar bill. If a $2 dollars bill printed in 1976 with series number 8888, it worths as much as 100 dollars bill. Strange but true.
How about the Santa Clause dollar bill? Is it worth anything other than face value?
Face value... Santa's face

I get a $2 bill 1928 at the bank few hours ago 😍
There not very hard to find I get the 2 dollar bill all the time but it’s easy to find them
Is a two dollar bill that is larger in size than any other bills worth anything at all other than two dollars?
Could be. Google "large size $2 bill" and see if any of the results look like yours.
Who knew that something you could trade in for 2 1 dollar bills is rare
I have a 1953 version I wonder how much that would be worth.
It depends on the condition. Usually they run around $7-$10, and that's only with people that are looking for them. They should be spent, but they're not a significant collector's item either.
So yeah, they are not very uncommen. But they are still somewhat rare, so can I sell someone a $2 bill for like $10?
I got a red seal 1953
I have one that says authentic uncirculated United States of America $2 note
It has a red seal and serial number?

My grandma gave me a stack of $2 bills. I kept them for 20 years. I know their monetary worth, but they will always have sentimental value to me. I will never use them.
We hear a lot of stories like that. These bills are great for nostalgia and sentiment. Thanks for the comment.
@@TheTwoDollarBillDocumentary what does that mean
I wonder if the ones in red ink are worth than 2$?
As they said in the video, they are. Usually can get about $7-8 depending on the condition.
So why are we using Federal Reserve Notes at all if they have an immediate debt attached to them that the U.S. Govt. has to pay back?

I have on dólar 1895
I never even knew 2$ bills exist
Would $2 bills in a mint run be of any value?
What year? Mint bills don't make them worth much more, as the value of a pristine bill also is affected by the borders being perfectly even and a few other factors. Check PCGS Currency and they can grade your bills to assess any extra value.

My grandfather gave me about 20 United States notes can I sell them?
If in good condition, yes. Try eBay. Sell them all in one auction as a lot.
The Two Dollar Bill Documentary what do i set the price to
I'd say a good starting bid would be around $99 - which is about $5 each - if they're in good shape. If more of what you have is 1928 (as opposed to 1953 or 1963), you can charge a little more.
The Two Dollar Bill Documentary I'm asking this because you are like a collector I'd say if I put them for sale I'd charge $80 and I'm asking would you want them so I know their going in good hands
I'm not a collector - I'm a documentary filmmaker. I always get and use $2s, and I have a few cool ones I picked up during production, but I don't collect them. I needed a bunch of red seal bills like yours to use as props in the film (and in this clip, ironically), and I bought about 20 of them for what amounted to $7 each. I gave them away as prizes at film screenings. I really have no use for more of them - they'll just sit in a drawer. Put them on eBay and make yourself some extra holiday money.
I have the first copy from 1816 but nah no need to sell it
You mean 1862? That was when the first $2 bill was issued.
@@TheTwoDollarBillDocumentary oh yeah sorry I didn't realise I wrote about 1816 but if I sell my dollar bill how much would I get out of it?
It depends on the condition, if it's been graded or not (contact PCGS Currency for that), etc. You can look on eBay for a similar bill, or better yet, try Heritage Auctions - ha.com.
Hey bud. If I go to the bank with a $20 will they happily exchange for 10 $2 bills? I want more for my son.
They will... if they have them. A lot of banks in my area do, but not all have a supply ready. But they can certainly order them from the Federal Reserve if they need them. If they do have some in the till, they will be happy to get them out of there, so give it a shot.
I have 10 of 1995 2 dollars. Do they worth any? They aren't damaged or folded.
Vincent Jeong They are worth face value.
Worth $2 each. Although you can probably sell them on eBay for a little more to people who don't know any better.

How does making money work? Doesn't it take money to make money?
i have a 1963 2$ United States note
Abraham Montoya they weren't made then I don't think... What the heck???
Isaiah975 yes they were. I have to red seal 1953 mint condition $2 UNITED STATES NOTE. :) more vauable that Federal Reserve note. ;)
$2 bills had issues in 1928, 1953 and 1963. It was discontinued in 1966, then came back in 1976 as a newly-designed note. If you watch this clip til the end, you'll see an old 1963 bill (with a red seal), which the speaker refers to to point out the difference between U.S. Notes and Federal Reserve Notes.
He says a Red Seal Two Dollar United States Note is "way more valuable" ... They're currently (2017) worth $3 - $8 depending on condition.
Worth more if you have a whole bunch of them with consecutive serial numbers or one with a serial number having at least 5 leading zeros.
Abraham Montoya 4 bucks
We have 5 of these and I thought they were rare
You thought wrong.
You can get them at the bank
