Lamborghini LM002 - the 'Rambo Lambo' Restoration is complete | Tyrrell's Classic Workshop

  • The LM002 or 'Rambo Lambo' has been an unmissable presence in the background of the workshop for a good while now, and after months of careful restoration, it's time for this fine example to take centre-stage. Few cars come with such a remarkable story of how they came in to being and Iain plots that history of Lamborghini's military aspirations that were doomed to failure before being resurrected as this truly pioneering example of a high-powered off-road 4x4 vehicle that are now so commonplace on today's roads.
With restoration complete, it's time for the car's first road test, but not before a final check on the engine, with the help of new recruit Alex as Iain passes on his skills to the next generation.
00:00 - Introduction and history of the car
    08:56 - Engine tuning
    16:07 - Road test
    24:10 - Outro

Great to see your young ‘sorcerer’s apprentice’ being inducted into the tuner’s art…. The reason your channel is being so successful is not only your extensive knowledge but how you deliver it to your viewers, you treat us as adults as does Harry Metcalf (Harry’s Garage) and long may both your success continue 👍

Nice one Iain! In the early 90s I worked for the BeeGees (I'm a musician) and spent a lot of time at their studio on Miami Beach. Maurice Gibb used to turn up in a metallic brown Porsche 928 which, apparently, had previously belonged to Ferdinand Porsche's son. However, one day he arrived in one of these, in silver with red leather interior and insisted on taking me for a spin round the block! The engine sounded fab but you could really feel the weight and it rolled a lot. He'd p/ex'd it for the Porsche at Miami's Auto Toy Store - it had previously belonged to an Arab Sheikh and still had the mounting ring for a heavy machine gun in the back! He kept it for a few weeks and then got the Porsche back! 😁 Happy days, and RIP to a lovely man. ❤️

I'm surprised he didn't mention the change of wheels and tires. This is obviously done for practical reasons, as the original tires are unobtainable/insanely expensive. This owner may want to drive his Lambo instead of it being a garage queen.

I remember these cars in the 80's and it seems like the wheels and tires on it then were much more substantial than the ones on it now! The present ones look very undersized.

I think these are an aftermarket set of wheels and different tires , the other tires are either nonexistent or extremely hard to get because pirelli stopped making them or only do limited runs of them and are very expensive

@@charlie1832 Yes I agree, the originals were far more substantial ... these look weak!

Good job training the young man. With ur knowledge of classics, it’s important to pass it on to a generation born after these cars were even manufactured.

A nice Sunday evening of CZcams viewing. First Harry with his completed Rolls Royce, and a lovely drive into London. And then Ian’s video on the Lambo. And so nice to see you passing on the trade to another generation!

It would be great to see if you could get a mic on the end of the hose to give us all an insight into the difference in noise or pitch you are listening for. Also fabulous to see your young apprentice learning these skills, what a teacher to have!

What an icon that thing is. Remember seeing it as a youngster wondering what the hell it was, but, there is something strangely alluring about it, and the Countach soundtrack adds to it
