- SQNLDR Andrew Jackson (the first-ever Australian F-35 pilot) recently completed his first flight in an F-35 during training at the Academic Training Center on Eglin Air Force Base in Florida.

Most jets in service have external loads so they will struggle to hit there top speeds but with the f-35 having a internal load it will still hit its 1.6 speed. And its a stealth fighter it doesn't need too be extremely fast it fights from miles and miles away. Other fighters won't even know it's there until its to late.
looks like some sort of Intergalactic Space Ship than a Jet.

Although the cannon may not be used much in dogfights, it could also be used for strafing runs on ground targets.
