Can you clarify that the NIN registration is an ongoing process and therefore, one can register at any time (i.e. in 2, 3 years) provided you don't require the number to obtain any government services in the meantime? I mean why is the government forcing everyone to register as if to say after a certain date, if you haven't registered then that is it...

I think I did the Enrollment back then in 2013 when I was still in Nigeria, but I don't know if that one is still valid, but even if it's valid I would like to do a new one. As my Date of Birth on the previous one was February 27 1995 but most of my Documents now including residence permit, Attestation of Birth, state of Origin Certificate and International Passport is September 27 1995.... Do u have any idea of how I can do this? Is it possible in the registration centre here in Germany or it should be done in Nigeria?

If she is resident in Nigeria, she can. Otherwise not compulsory.
I have enrolled for three years ago ought till now i haven't got the I'd card only the slip that I collected after two weeks in such case what can I do pls reply me
I don’t think they are issuing the card as quickly as they are issuing the slip.
The slip is more important than the ID because it bears your NIN number which never changes. The ID on the other hand, expires every 6 years and you have to renew.

So if purchasing a phone SIM is conditional upon having a NIN, how would a tourist to Nigeria buy a SIM?
This is what many tourists and (Nigerians visiting) in Nigeria had to endure in December when the government made it mandatory. We are hoping they will provide some sort of exclusion soon.

They just resumed new SIM card purchases so how can we get around this NIN requirement? I'm arriving next week and I need to get one.
@@cillygurlshops9423 put your normal phone on flight mode and get a WiFi bolt. Internet service and use WhatsApp. Oh ask a relative to to lend you a old SIM card. That is how I got by.

Hi Sassy Funke. Why do we Nigerians like to punish ourselves? We have the BVN, now it is NIN and then the National ID card. Enough already. Why can't we just settle on ONE number and settle on it. Here in the United States, we have the Social Security Number. That's it. What do you think?

@@andrewi5547 Yes. Spoke to NIMC, you have to pay. They payment is not for the government but for the private company that is doing the data capture. Hope that helps.

I just called the Nigerian embassy in Madrid Spain to confirm if I will need NIN to renew my passport and they said NO🤔🤔🤔🤔
Perhaps they are still issuing old passports in Madrid. For the new passports, you need to get a NIN.

Here in America everyone has social security number, yet people still get impersonated. So Naija should miss me with this bull crap they are giving as reason for NIN. In a year of pandemic, NIN is not an essential thing for a country like Nigeria. Nonsensical ecosystem!
Please educate yourself. SSNs, which started in America in the 1900s, are _not_ biometric IDs, so are subject to easy fraud. NIN is biometric, making it harder to duplicate. No system will prevent fraud 100%.

nigeria nigeria, the only country in the world where the government makes it their mission to make the lives of the citizens as hard as can possibly be.
my kids that were born in a european country, they got given their nin upon me registering their birth, non of these big grammar or protocol nigerian govt is making the citizens to go through.
i was even issued a nin in the country without any hassle.
After moving to the uk from the said european country, when one of my kids turned 16, i did not apply or do anything, my child got sent his national insurance number from the tax office.
our leaders just intentionally make life hard and miserable for the citizens, so so sad.

Procedure very combersome,this is similar to Social Security in US,we do not go through all these to get it,bank account,SIM etc are not attached to SSN here,the find it difficult to copy from USA and even UK
