- The Bokeh is the latest from ZMF. While it may be the new most affordable entry into the family, it is still a luxurious ZMF headphone in every right. Beautiful solid wood cups, plush and soft ZMF earpads, a new 3.5mm jack, and built to be easy to drive on just about anything. The Bokeh is the perfect entry into the ZMF lineup.

These kinda shocked me at CanJam NYC this year because of the value they offered. Their dynamics really impressed me and very much reminded me of Focal. The musicality of the Bokeh was what set them apart.
I was actually impressed by the Caldera Closed at CanJam NYC
probably its hard not to be xD and it would be a huge failure for its price tag
Good to know that Zach is still working his magic right, I never thought that I would like to have another closed back except my Verite Closed BUT Zach is working on Caldera closed 😍 and I love how they look and very interested how do he tuned them
Very nice review, i just got mine at canjam nyc and i havent been able to put them down with the burst mesh off these have become one of my favorite headphones. Dynamics, punch, tone and soundstage are all great. I just wish it was lighter as I have a neck injury so i cant wear them for more than an hour and a half
Thank you, and yeah, I would like them a little lighter.
I concur. A stunning all round headphone.
The weight does simply disappear and the sound does reach well beyond your ears.
And yeah EDM is phenomenal. Try some Deadmau5.
I’m certainly hooked as a first time ZMF owner.
Oh heck yeah, Deadmau5 is triumphant on these.
Great review
Can you tell me if have enough deep ear pads and the ears medium size don t touch the driver gril and make pain...how you feel this?
I should of mentioned this! There is plenty of ear volume in the pads. Lots of room. My ears don't touch anything.
Great video! Curious how it compares to Tunsgten?
They're very different. Planar vs dynamic. Open vs closed. If I had to generalize though - Bokeh are warmer, smoother, and more relaxed, while not as detailed, resolving, or precise as the Tungsten.
Will there be a stabilised version?
Good question. Knowing Zack I'd say its pretty likely.
do you get fatigued over time because its closed back? (too much pressure on the ears from the bass)? thats my main concern
I do not. I've been able to wear them comfortably for hours, even forgetting I have them on until I need to move my head around. They have good sound isolation from the pads, but its not like you're ears are in a pressure chamber, so I don't experience any uncomfortable pressure from the bass range.
The Intro made me smile. They look great!
Your channel is great , Master Marslander. 🤝
Thank you for this.
Thank you!
Exactly my experience of my bokehs.. blowing me away. Just the mictophonics on the cable.. can anything help this??
Maybe if you can manage to get behind the driver plate and dampen the connection, but that's just a guess. I'm way too afraid to try it myself. I'll just live with it!
It's ok.. swapped the cable to another I had at hand.. much much better on the microphonics
Great review! This is an awesome headphone.
I actually dislike Bokeh in photography, but I am sure this headphone will sound great!
Nothing wrong with a high F-Stop haha 😬
have some sibilance this bokeh like in vocals ss..tt...?
I don't notice any siblance, especially with the protein pads.
Yeah with the protein pads these have no sibilance at all. I haven't tried other pads though.
Better than the Focal Celestee?
I definitely prefer Bokeh over Celestee, but your milage may vary.
@@MasterMarslander thanks for the reply! Are the Bokeh easy to drive on portable equipment?
@dustydynasty802 Yes. That was one of Zach's primary goals, make it easy to drive for portability.
If it is that good, wouldn't this cannibalize the more expensive ZMFs?
I think of it more like getting a taste that will leave you wanting more. It's a great headphone, but I wouldn't say it's the outright best offering from ZMF.
yea I wonder how do they compare to atticus and eikon, those 3 are in similar price, dont think they can compare to closed atrium or verite, I personally own verite closed and cant imagine better sounding closed back
@@soulfulfool Verite closed stabalized is my goal this year for ZMF Nov. That was one of my favorite cans I tried at Canjam.
@@MasterMarslander it really depend on amp thou, even more said I have used mine with multiple tube pairings and my conclusion was that power tubes are very important for them, need that quality power tube to feel their punch and energy :) but yea thats probably the same for every 300 ohm ZMF
no it's "bokay", like "okay"
Nope. Zach said it can be pronounced either way. No right or wrong intention. 👍
My bad!
