    I cannot say enough how amazing these are for me. The timbre just allows me to relax deep into the music and enjoy it in a completely natural way. I agree with the m17 analysis and i have to tweak eq on my m17 to make the verite sound right, and it does get there close. On my desktop set up, its just completely sublime. Cannot express enough what a great job Zach and his team have done with it.

    Great review! As I am not really much of an audiophile, I found this review very enjoyable and easier to understand. I especially like how the Stellia was compared to the VC. I own the Stellia and enjoy the warmth. Since I have been considering getting another headphone, this makes me want to try out the VC. I like the energy from the Stellia, but I want something to compliment it for slower songs or vocals.

    Welcome to the club! And this can complements the Arya very well. I own both, and I swap to the Arya when I want the cleanest, clearest, and most accurate presentation, but I swap to the VC when I really want to experience the music--fuller, more weighty and impactful, just overall a more fun and vivid experience.
    And you're right, this can absolutely does spoil other cans for me. I really haven't sought out any other headphones since I got it.

      @@soulfulfool I own the Atrium and I have had the Arya v2 which has a wider soundstage than the the Arya stealth and I actually prefer the soundstage of the Atrium. To my ears the soundstage of the Arya was a bit unrealistic and it made some genres like rock sound too soft. The Atrium has better soundstage and imaging than the VC. To me the Atrium's sounds is way more realistic sounding. I really like the hard plastic cases. Those things are super high quality and very durable. I have headphone stands anyways so whatever case I get is going to just go in the closet. It is nice to have the hard case incase I travel somewhere.

      @@soulfulfool if you are looking for details or technical abilities then yes the VC is the way to go. You said something about the Atrium cannot have better soundstage over the Arya and I was just pointing out that it's not technically true. It all depends on what a person looks for in soundstage. The Atrium soundstage isn't as big as the Arya but it is big and it is more realistic and doesn't sound like everything is off in the distance. I do think for your case point you are making the best decision with the VC. Have you thought about which pads you want? I 100% enjoy the Autuer pads the best. I like the Autuer Hybrid the best and then the Autuer Lambskin. What amp are you pairing the VC with?

    Excellent review as usual Sajid. The filter 4 is linear phase and drops from 16k quiet fast. I think you may like filter 1 with this. The change I am hoping is a tighter image and clearer presentation with quick decay and faster transient response. Do try that, hope you like it.

    I freaking love VCs! They become much more comfortable without any hotspots when you install a Pilot-Pad to them btw! You MUST try these on a proper OTL tube amp, hope you do another review/update video once you experience them on your incoming Felix Euphoria OTL. In my experience I found them to be resolving enough to be top tier, but not so resolving that you get lost in the micro details. You can really enjoy the music with VCs and I think that makes them an excellent headphone for actual music enjoying audiophiles.

    Thank you very much for this video as always great job, I heard verite open and closed at axpona few weeks ago and my impression was different (I do realize it was at a show) but vc did not sounded warm at all, too much energy on top, they didn't sound slow either. VO sounded little more relaxed. But I like new audeze 5 more. Also the new Atrium was better to my taste than verite. I'm very curious how new version of autour will sound. In my humble opinion zmf needs tubes. Thanks again.

      the VC is more detailed and faster than the atrium, the details are more readily accessible with the verite closed and it picks up flaws in tracks like crazy.
      but the atrium has a wider soundstage, it's more forgiving with poor recordings, its detailed but laid-back, so cozy and comfy sound, reminds me of my mdr z1r in terms of coziness, but of course they feature different tonalities.
      Both can co exist in one collection technically the verite is superior, but the atrium has the wider and more rich presentation.
      i also have an rme adi dac.

I'm finding the m17 really big and heavy lately and it's becoming uncomfortable. So is there any reason for me jump to the sp2000t or even the sp2000 ? But with my system the VC is super fast planar fast, it has a near holographic Soundstage of sounds appearing and disappearing in a black background, almost stax l700 like.
    It sounds big very precise imaging and super detailed, yet the details aren't shoved in like let's say the focal clear, it's detailed but less detailed than the VC, but if you hear them without thorough listening you might think the clear is more detailed but it's not at all.
    I sold the stellia after 2 months of use it was too aggressive and too unnatural.

    I got the Camphor Burl Verite Closed a few months ago. Most amazing looking headphones I've ever seen in person. I'll also add that the new Crescent Strap for the headband that Zach/ZMF has come up with that now ships with the ZMF' HP's is awesome. So comfortable. Something Audeze should look at and design a copy cat type headband support for their ridiculously heavy HP's. The VC for me are a great all rounder that handle all music genre's well. Similar to how you said you lean towards the Utopia now because it allows you to listen to all music genre's without always having to swap over to a different HP for a particular music genre. The VC sounds really good on the LYR 3 hybrid tube amp and the Burson Soloist 3XP both coming from the Bifrost 2 with the Lokius EQ in between. The VC EQ's well too if you want a little more Bass.

    • @user-kx8pt7td8q
      @user-kx8pt7td8q Před 2 lety +2

      As the owner of both headphones, I will say for myself, while the first days of the Denon 9200 were burning, I hated them, but over time I changed the pads, the cable and now it is a very fun game. It’s fun, the bass is dry, but powerful, you feel it, but you don’t just hear it))) The vocals are clear, which is surprising for closed headphones, the stage is average (but somewhat reminiscent of open models), the upper frequencies are expanded more than Zmf Verite Closed, so the frequency layers of this of the range are well tracked without eavesdropping. Zmf Verite Closed have also not yet achieved a burning time of 60 hours, maybe more, so the sound sometimes differs, but the main thing is that the bass is more detailed, but the mid-bass is not as loud as the denon, but the lower frequencies are more detailed in layers, and it is possible to read its structure, more envelops the listener. The bottom is more voluminous, with less impact on the listener. Middle frequencies are not so simple here, but logically, the fact that the Denon V-oboose sound has a role here plays a role, but the competitor unfolds the palette of this range in front of the listener, allowing to examine the whole dish as a whole, and to sharpen attention to details, all sorts of decorations. And here the problems of song mastering can arise, especially in the upper middle. High frequencies are difficult to describe, they become less sharp as they warm up, but they are not very distinct, but they are there, good ones, I won't tell you more here, because it's not his feature. Zmf VC - first of all enhanced reverberation, the stage is a little bigger than denon, but reverberation makes objects bigger, even bigger than they are (my opinion). Denon may not be inferior on the stage, it's just that the objects are not expanded, there are more voids, which sometimes gives a cool feeling. Zmf VC change the sound depending on the pads (I think you are not waiting for a complete revolution), but not especially with cables. Copper, silver, etc. are more affected by the material change. - we are talking about cables of the same range of prices and quality, because for 50 and for 2500 there will be a difference, because the geometry of the cable will be different, except for the material, which is the main thing in my opinion. The sound of the VC is more warm and relaxed (but I can argue with myself about the relaxation, but relative to the competitor), while the Denon - Dryness on the bottom, but not gloomy, the colors are not darkened, the delivery is cheerful, energetic, the impact is strong, the tops are airier and the detail is greater, very informative, you can feel all the mud of the recording too much, but what is said indistinctly you can hear well compared to competitors, informativeness over the entire frequency range. With the change of cables and pads, the sound changes, so there can be a lot of experiments. Both are fast, so here you can judge by attenuation, where Denon shows dryness (I say this, although it is modesty, more precisely, restraint, it does not inflate and does not decorate, except for the impact))) This is so short, if you are interested in more, write, I will reveal the topic more (unforgettable that this is my own opinion).

      I don't see the point of naming what I didn't like, let's move on to the leader - zmf ori, both leather and suede (suede is more relaxed and for long listening), but I agree with the leather they become a little bass-headed, the impact is felt, the bass is not booming, but tight. Others changed the sound to an inconvenient position for the headphones, but on some music it made a difference, and on others, the advantages of these headphones were simply lost, and the disadvantages came out (today I will conduct another examination with two zmf pads - other things are available).

    • @user-kx8pt7td8q
      @user-kx8pt7td8q Před rokem

      Everything is not so simple with the cable here, because high-quality copper plays well, especially one cable with a somewhat softened sound (the bass is softer, the treble is less sharp, the sensitivity is a little lower) gave musicality and smoothness. The copper is silver-plated, sharper, but the essence of what I want to say is this - I have a cable with silver, gold, palladium with separate cores, then its tonality, detail, neutrality, musicality, and other characteristics simply changed the sound (this is a step forward compared to the regular one that I if you honestly didn't like it). I connect via a balanced connection, although they are not demanding headphones, they are easy to control, but they like good amplification (and not just turn up the volume).
