I have a pencil-thin neck, which is the reason why my Audeze LCD2 leaves its case ONLY when I change the silica gel packets. 🥴
Do a consumer one.
You forgot my favorite ,Sivga. I really like my 007's on a tube amp.
@@justins.1283 I hope you're not using them with their stock pads. Thicker, larger-opening, perforated leather/pleather pads do wonders for the SV007.
$500,000usd budget
Im looking for the best most expensive tws
If you come please provide me with that information so that i can purchase that would be greatly appreciated
An upgrade to the HE 1 is still, by definition, a path.
High end planar when? 🙏🏽
May I have a pair pretty please?
A discount for hd650 owners ? 😅
Hey sennheiser, may I permanently borrow a pair of he1's????
alr just make sure to include a bungalow, thanks
Please do this with IEM's. I had a great laugh. Edit: Also with tube amps. Particular people get particular tubes.
Yes, do IEMs ! LoL
Yes, please.
I would really like to hear the er2 and possibly mh750 segment of that. I legitimately swear by both of these, one is what got me to ultimately get er2s for the noise isolation alone.
do the CRN and the Timeless please
yeeeees do IEMs pls
Damn, he got my ass with the CRT monitors bit
My Sound Blaster Audigy Windows XP machine pairs great with my Sennheiser 595's...
Do ya hear that DMS? WE'RE TAKING OUR CRT AND GOING HOME
You nailed me with Sennheiser. Don't need an upgrade path if it's already one of the best! Just get on with the music! Also CRTs have unparalleled response time and analogue signal standards are fascinating. It's disappointing how homogeneous tech is now.
That was so personal 😂
My friend with Sennheisers has a secret love for CRT monitors. I have Hifiman and do have all Apple products but no I don't upgrade every year. LOL.
Also this video has the aspect ratio of CRT.
@@AmieWeaMy man DMS is a Sennheiser guy, too??? 🤔
OLED > CRT
Oh yes please do this with wireless headphones, this was great.
Good idea 😄
@@DMS3TV, there are no long vowels in "SUNDARA". 🤫
Boring. A wireless overlay to all of the comments already made in this video. Do iems, way more interesting.
@@mensrea1251 I don’t remember asking.

I almost fell out of my Herman Miller Embody laughing from the Meze part
Based on your accuracy with some of the headphones I do own, now I have ideas on which brands to try next.
flat monitor strengths cant be written on reviews, its just right
As a KOSS enjoyer I am offended by how accurate I was called out.
I can't afford new headphones when I spend it all on my music collection.
wahaha - just do it, make ALL your music sound twice as good. Make the jump to Sundara and never look back
@@PartyMusic775I made it to HE400se when my KSC75 broke.
I never owned any apple products besides an iPod Shuffle.
Get yourself at least a Sennheiser HD 58X Jubilee on sale. They sound much more detailed, separated and clear, but still have that warmth that reminds of Koss. I love mine, and I have kilobuck headphones too.
Your the envy of us all, because in the end its all about the music.
@@joeythedime1838 Well said! We use music to listen to our headphones. Still fun, but much pricier than using headphones to listen to music.
This is a really good version of this format. You go very specific and thats great!
Thank you so much for the knowing levity! My favorite line - "...and tinnitus is the backing track to your life." (I have Beyerdynamic headphones) Sly and succinct with nice comic timing in your delivery keeps the video rolling along.
I have Meze's 99 and Liric. I have been eyeing up a Herman Miller Eames chair set (edit, not so much to realise they don't have the rights to Eames chairs in Europe!). I have also owned fragile Italian cars (one Alfa had 2 engines, three wiring looms and a full suspension replacement).
I also have the LCD-X and fulfill the strong neck, gamer and sci-fi parts. And I only got that because I couldn't think of any other progression up from a Sennheiser HD600, but still maintaining that general reference/"accurate" sound. (Edit: but with a touch more bass/sub-bass)
My strong neck helped with the continuous nodding of approval through this video.
I'm using 109s and sitting in a Herman Miller Embody 😂 I've also considered buying an Alfa but have wisely not (yet)
LOL! Strong neck... Head banging in agreement...
Good one! I enjoy your techie videos and reviews, but this is a great change of pace! ✌
As a Beyer collector whose favorite headphone is the T1, you're absolutely correct
😂
I think this is my first time commenting on a CZcams video. Great stuff @dms3tv! 👏🏻…you and Golden really put out two bangers today.
I was worried I wouldn't be on this list, I've never slapped a drum but now I know I have the potential for it lol. Thanks DMS.
The Austrian Audio one was personal! 😭 and accurate, coming from someone who daily drives em. Keep up the good work.
Grado was what did it for me.
Yes, this was fun and spot on. I saw myself in a couple of descriptions.
Love the authenticity. Good shit
I have not laughed so hard in months, definitely the best video you’ve done up to now this year.
It deserves shares ❤️
- What your headphones say about you?
- I use Sennheiser HD700 🗿
(and I'm not kidding)
Based (this comes from the HD660s owner)
The Audio Technica bit is so spot on.
I really do care about it lasting forever, since I have other hobbies, which i am -addicted to- interested in. Though, I care if it sounds good or not. Since I listen to pretty much all genres of music, I prefer neutral/balanced sound. But I have a feeling that I will not be able to tell a difference between good and decent headphones.
I have used Sony MDR-XB950AP, ATH M50X, Tin HiFi T4, Echobox Audio Finder X1 and some bad stuff like A4Tech, Razer, etc. Between all of them, Sony and gaming abominations are bad.
Well you can tell the difference between ALL headphones since they have a very distinct character. Good speakers almost don't have a character, if you closed your eyes, you'd have a hard time, you can still tell but it's hard. Headphones are all quite different. So don't sell yourself short by suggesting that you might not tell the difference, just go ahead and try it.
As to AT in my opinion M50x is almost an abomination, like most of it is good, then there's a painful sibilant peak and after 12k there's NOTHING. I think M40x is actually great though.
@@SianaGearz When I was choosing my first decent pair of headphones, I read a lot of reviews (ZeosPantera, Amazon, Reddit and etc.) about M50x and M40x. In the end, I chose M40x. The only thing that changed my mind was the fact that I was building an all white PC build. Because of that, I went for M50x, since some people said that the difference is not so marginal between M50x and M40x.
Since I always listen to music at low dB, the bright part of M50x does not bother me at all. Now that I think about it, I think that I actually prefer for a slightly bright sound signature, so I can decipher if the song is bad by design or if it is that good.
this was my challenge. I am a long distance runner and have to use a m audio bass booster mini amp and stuck in apple architecture so i get iphone headphone amp out. 5 years long at least 1500 miles running in 36 countries, still going!!!
I've been using the same pair of ATH-M50's as my only headphones for the last ~10-ish years. I recently got an new pair (Hifiman Sundara) and the difference is definitely appreciable. The sound signature feels rather similar between the two, everything is just cleaner and wider. I'm sure someone somewhere will have issue with me making that comparison, but due to some hearing damage the finer points of tuning and technicality get a bit lost on me anyway.
I say this as I was in the same camp as you, not sure if I'd be able to appreciate a fancier set of cans, but after making the jump I'm wondering why I didn't do it sooner lol.
I gotta give it to the M50's though! They still work like the day I bought them, the headband is just falling apart and keeps leaving black flecks of pleather is my hair. Been through 3 sets of ear cups and like 5 cables, but they just keep on working.
@@DeagledSmeagol My M50's headband now looks like grey flannel from using duct tape to peel away the remaining black flecks.
Loved it, again with IEMs!
The audeze and meze parts double tapped me LMAO nice video 👍
You nail'd ever shure fanboy I have ever known. Loved this!
That austrian audio one is so true man
Very entertaining! It tickled my funny bone several times. I'm a Grado owner and still found what you said ASBOLUTELY RIGHT. 🤣 (I do own Focal, too, though, in fairness to me... 😏)
I'd love this for specific models since companies often have many sides to them.
Brilliant. Loved it.
Absolute gold, sir!
awesome stuff, looking for more stuff like it, thanks
long time Stax user, you are SPOT ON!!! had a good laugh
Sennheiser HD 560S fan here. Still sticking by this because it has yet to let me down. Neutral with a tinge of warm bass and amazing tuning for mixing. And watching movies is a treat with its separation.
You're being smart. Up top, things are more different than they're better. 😊
👋👋
My audiophile headphones consist of ZMFs, Focals, a HiFiman and a vintage Audeze. I like Grand Seiko, listen to whole albums on actual media discs, prefer baths, handmade leather wallets, seen a boatload of sci fi movies and will freely offer my political opinion sans prompting.
Oh no, I've been known to check out Grand Seikos.. get out of my head! 😂
As a car enthusiast who owns a lot of Lego, watched this while wearing a heavily modified pair of bass cannon Fostex T20RPs, and is currently working on giving another pair of mildly abused second hand T50RPs the full Open Alpha treatment, I feel called out.
ROFL! thank you for the honesty! I'm too insecure to mention which stereotypes I fall into
lmfao work bud is a *huge* Grado-fan. Spot on man, lol.
Haha on the Grado headphones owner profile! I'm recently guilty of joining the cult!!! I love it do more brands!
holy shit the ZMF was incredibly accurate I actually said out loud "oak and cigar actually does sound amazing" and looked at my zmf aeolus
I'd had lost my shit if he had mentioned dark rum as well.. 😅
This is the content of all time, I felt so attacked and I loved every second.
can confirm that the M50 do last almost forever. bought mine like... 12 years ago. Tossed it on a bin some solid 6 years ago, and just found the damn thing again after going through all my "junk" i've forgotten over the time. The pad got absolutely shredded, but the headphone itself? It's still kicking dang it.
this video is beautifully shot
I love my audiotechnica ad700x's mainly for how lightweight and comfy they are, the great sound stage and decent enough fidelity is a nice bonus too. Thinking about getting one of the nicer Adxxx models
As somebody with a collection of various Sennheiser, AKG, Sony, Audeze and Beyerdynamic headphones (and in ears) all I've got to say is that you have f'ing nailed it. 😉
Lol. This is so good!
I'm not sure which one I'd pick as my favorite though
Luv dat idea! Xx
Damn spot on with Audeze 😅
Hilarious and fun. I love the Final Audio D-8000 one. 😂
the price is ridiculous
I feel like I have been most of these in my 20yr audiophile journey. Started at koss, ended up at Koss lol (if talking most hrs used, hands down kph30i) There needs to be 100% more 'just the driver' on-ear audiophile headphones. Isnt it obvious if Koss can get magic at $20-40, imagine at $1000 with less restrictions!!
When I got my Massdrop Porta Pros when they came out years ago, I couldn't believe how lo-fi yet how awesome they sounded. I instantly thought of live music through paper speakers. My pricey headphones sounded much better, but were missing that warm, lively feel. I miss those Porta Pros!
This video was amazing, KPH30i for life !!!! plus I am shopping for a DCA set. Sennheiser was spot on, I only have the 58x, which got all the bass the 600 was missing. I am wondering if my dislike for iPhones is related to my indifference toward the Hifman ( I own the 400se ).
😂 this was great!
This was hilarious! Please do this with IEMs!
Might have been my fav video of yours
"You either own or want a herman miller chair" he says as i have several tabs open looking for a used one LMAO
I don't own Stax yet, but I'd been considering it. Now I'm considering it more - My favorite colorway is indeed piano black and my dream car is somewhere between a Toyota Century and an LS460 AWD with a huge supercharger. I already have the Seiko.
And me and my HDR180 wireless senns do enjoy HD CRTs, yes.
Just watched his vid before this, can't help but wanting more
I was DYING of laughter this whole time 🤣 Bravo good sir!
Also... Hifiman and Sennheiser fanboy here... and I feel SEEN
👋
Business class on every flight. You got me 😂 Always upgrade!
Very funny, great idea for a video!
That abyss take was perfect! And we all know who this is explaining lol
Currently a Focal guy, bought a Radiance and Clear MG for half price each, coming from a Hifiman Sundara, and my first studio grade headphones were the Sennheiser and Massdrop HD58X Jubilee. I love Focal a lot, but secretly still really love Sennheiser too. When it comes to audio equipment, I will only ever use Schiit
we still love u 2. well, you, too.
I bought a stabilized ZMF Caldera over the summer. What this says about me is that I enjoy eating noodles and Bologna sandwiches to offset the cost of the Caldera
My fave video , i was eagerly waiting for the senheiser roast XD and it did get me laughing
Me watching this with my harmonicdyne Zeus elite with my drum set behind me being sad I can't afford audeze. This was spot on and fun😂
One of your best videos 😂
8mins of roasting, I could get into this. More content like this please :)
I have Bayerdynamic and Sennheiser. I don't love them but the are just a tool for me, a good tool to point out mistakes in the mixes when I am done with the studio monitors
This type of videos are the best when they hit you so personal 😂
Love my ZMF’s. Love my DCA’s.
I don’t do the candle or cigar thing. My main source of listening is a vast collection of albums and CD’s. I don’t do the download thing and I still buy CD’s.
A good headphone and system will make you forget about any analysis and pull you into the performance/enjoyment of the music! This is why you wind up listening to whole albums or lose track of time.
Do you also enjoy handmade leather wallets, have checked out Grand Seiko and are growing more comfortable with the idea of a dadbod?
Liked the video. Would like an IEM sequel.
My fist "audiophiles" headphones were the m50x. They get overhated. Honestly with just a little bit of eq they sound great. I used them on my rooted lg v60 with that sweet sweet quad dac and they are a blast to listen to.
I'm so glad I'm not the only person insane enough to get the LG V60 for the Quad Dac
I tried them briefly, they felt pretty durable but not all of them are.
not audiophiles but pro.
@@near-0907and the slot for memory card
This! I have several headphones, including Sennheiser, Beyerdynamic, and AKG. I truly don’t understand the hate for the M50X. It can be brilliant.
That was great!
So, what does your music format say? LP, MiniDisc, cassette tape, reel-reel, CD, Streaming, radio?
Started with audio-technica and moved to Sennheiser, and damn you nailed it.... honestly to meaningfully upgrade means more $s than I can really justify right now.
thank you :)
I use Meze 99 for listening and Focal as a monitor headphones as daily drivers and they are fantastic.
I was ready to move on from my ATH-m40x. Then the new earpads arrived, and I got to dump the old velour pads, and now I'm happy with it again. I even have to set aside my newly bought Hifiman HE400se.
Right on point actually 😂
Scary how accurate you got with Audeze don't have them yet but planning on buying one and all the thing you just described is exactly what I am. 😂😅
I love my super lightweight mouse when I'm gaming. I love my Audeze Maxwell headphones when I produce music and watching Dune part one with dolby atmos activated was basically the highlight of the year for me. This is proof that I picked the right headphones 😂
I’ve already watched the melon vid which is why this one peeked my interest 😆
Even my ergo chair is catching strays lmao. Thanks for the good laugh.
I would love to see an IEM version of this!
My collection right now is ZMF / Meze / Sennheiser / and yes I have a Grado... I accept these stereotypes.
I just had a little shiver down my spine. I do have a secret love for CRT monitors as I love my old school gaming.
bro filming your video in 4:3 speaks so much more than whatever you have to say about headphones. I click on a youtube video on my computer, a CZcams video on my COMPUTER and I see black bars on the side of my screen? wow
The fact that you had me stare at my soft couch while listening to you through harmonic dyne zues made me happy
Hey!
I have a few questions when it comes to the "right" settings regarding my setup. I know this is probably highly individual but im looking for some sort of "guidline" i guess, what settings i should turn on/off to get the most out of my music. To make it sound as detailed as possible and like the artist intended it to sound like.
Im using "DT 1990 pro" Headphones with an "DAC Headphone Amplifier 32bit / 384kHz DSD
AMANERO" and "Tidal" which has already made me enjoy music way more than i could have ever imagined! However, there are a few things where i would like to get some help with.
1. I use a seperate software called "Steelseries GG" which i mainly intended to use for gaming but it has some really interesting features like "spacial audio". I've been playing around with that software and was wondering if there is hit to "quality" or if the music gets altered in a significant way when the sound gets processed first throught that software to add that "spacial audio" effect or when im tweaking the EQ.
2. The next question is tied to the one before. I use Tidal and inside there i can select different "output devices" and depending on what device i use, i get very different results how the music sounds and how loud it is + new settings i can select. For example: using "system default" in tidal, lets me control the volume with the desktop app but no additional settings are available. If i choose "steelseries gg (media)" as output device, i get additional settings like "exclusive mode and passthrough MQA" and im not sure what the best settings are or of i should even use it as an output device to get the most out of my music.
If i use my DAC as output device (Combo384 Amanero) i also get all those additional settings.
My main goal is to listen to the music the way the artist intended it with as much clarity and detail as possible. From my point of view i would assume that i get the "best" results in terms of "lossless audio" when i use the DAC as output device but im not sure. Maybe some of you have experience in that field and can bring me some clarity on what to use as output device, what settings i should pair it with and if there are any additional settings in Tidal/Windows that i should enable or disable.
Thank you in advance!
This was fun - I am a Meze guy and you couldnt be more accurate, I love good industrial design just replace the cars with motorcycles and I have a Herman Miller Eames lounge chair and Ottoman - eerie!
Kos! Koss! Koss!😂
Man you're funny
"there's better things out there but you don't really need to upgrade"
you got me perfectly there. can't get enough of my K701
Stax part got me hard, also should mention about their love towards to cheap materials as well 😂
Also, IEM and wireless headphone version would be great as well, gonna look forward for sure
Beautiful
I have two fostex and goddamn, I do love legos, I have modified my car, and I do like bass.
Hey Doug what's those pads you are rocking on your CD-900 ST? BTW that was a great video. Fresh and funny.
1:34 AKG.
I love my k712 pros! I honestly can live with these and never upgraded, especially with after adding the Yaxi pads and removing the dampening foams behind the original earpads.
However... i did get a pair of harmonicdyne headphones recently, the Zeus Elites because i enjoy fun sounding headphones.
I own a koss porta pro and leave then in my car, I bring them out once in awhile when I'm out and about~ they're good enough for the portable experience. I am thinking about getting into IEMs but there's so many!!!
I would love to own a pair of stax someday, 一specifically the SR 009S model. They are so gorgeous ❤ i really really disliked dust in my living quarters so i constantly keep all surfaces areas clean. My air purifiers do much of the heavier lifting for me 😅😂
Sennheiser... I have considered getting one of the headphones in the 600 series.
The 660s2 or 6xx, I don't know yet 😢
As an owner of the HEDDphone I feel you nailed it with the chill, soft spoken part, at least that’s what I’ve been told 😂😂
Apparently ZMF are the certified dad headphones? Love your content
I love my Beyerdynamic dt177x. I'm a violinist, secretly love tastefully elevated bass, and often wear custom earplugs because I fear hearing loss, primarily due to my instrument. Sibilance is like salt, you keep going until it’s almost too much and that’s the perfect amount (kidding about Sibilance, it literally makes my ears bleed). I tried removing the inner padding that massdrop added to the 177x go and my head almost exploded.
the audiophile roast was great.
The Hifiman description was spot on.
It might be because I have the cheapest model, Meze 99 Noir, but I'm not into Italian cars nor am I partial to Braun alarm clocks. That being said this was a funny video to watch. We definitely need a TWS, both for over-ears and in-ears, and a iem video. It's all good fun; I will admit I bought the 99 Noir with durability and repairability in mind.
bet you got a Braun electric shaver and like Italian food, though
@@PartyMusic775 Not even remotely close. It would be interesting, though, to see if the description fit more closely on someone who owns a higher tier Meze headphone (Empryreon I or II, Lyric, 109 Pro, etc.) rather than someone who owns a 99 series.
Hey.. I have byers and you nailed every point. U are like some magician
