They do sound great but too big for my ear canals. Selling on eBay now.
@@ElCid_86 an MP123 is in the works, which is said to be a smaller but comparable MP145.
I think thsee are too big for women. The earpads come down to my neck. How to adjust?
i have a dolby access license for pc. It is better to use the maxwell pure stereo or with the dolby tool?
btw, all jokes aside (but quad-stack for 8Ohm IEM is, actually, funny one) - what about +/- sensitive stuff? I currently have HiFiMAN Serenade and Meze Liric, for example - it's a quite noisy combination. It sounds good as for me, but I definitely need ifi imatch for them :(
How do the LCD 2C compare tuning wise to the GX? Which is better for vocal centric rick, metal and alternative? I found the LCD X a bit boring. Lastly did you have to EQ the LCD 2C?
Do you have a big head? I wish I could try these on. The clamp force on the Alpha Wireless and Arctis Pro Wireless killed me so I don't want to invest in this and be screwed. The only headsets I have worn that are comfy for me are the new Atlas Air by Turtle Beach and the Razer BlackShark V2 Pro 2023.
I have a pretty large noggin'. I don't find the clap too fatiguing with the Maxwell. That being said, if comfort is your number one priority, you might want to look into the Cooler Master MH-751. One of the most comfortable headsets I've used.
Still to this day i use these headphones for music, gaming, cinema, and work
Do you have a big head? I wish I could try these on. The clamp force on the Alpha Wireless and Arctis Pro Wireless killed me so I don't want to invest in this and be screwed.
@@frostydax I guess my head is medium size. I don't need to adjust the headset to fit. Clamp from race doesn't bother me
Great video, my daughter and I were wishing the background was in focus, as we were trying to identify the anime figures!
Well, I have a nice collection of NieR Automata, Cowboy Bebop, Gundam, Re-Zero, Tales of Berseria, and some classic TMNT figures on that shelf.
Naa my old skol Q5S TC way cuter n better noobs..Peace!
@masterazlan6999 well yeah man, that's in a whole other price bracket.
What's your daily carry?
Glock 26
@@MitchGurowitz Valid, In my mind, was also wondering if anyone would comment a pocket knife or in the context of the video curious if anyone had pocket amps they couldn't leave home without.
@@RaiOshynnCat aful snowy night dongle is my favorite of the 5 I have.
You should never combine left and right channels can I get sound like put some more power than it actually does it should be measured in the amount of power per channel RMS
Agreed. Share the RMS, anything else is too subjective and vague.
The XBass is the magic sauce in the ifi DAC/Amps. I'd avoid any iFi DAC/Amp that doesn't have the Xbass. Gryphon > Diablo/2(No XBass)
After my nightmare experience with the iFi Phantom, I avoid all their products. 😢
@@TheVeganVicar Ouch 🤕 I totally understand. Not a cheap unit.

It is fortuitious that you didn't go completely deaf by the experience you recounted in the video, Master! I had a similar experience whilst wearing my Campfire Dorado earphones a couple of weeks ago. It was NOT fun. Coincidentally, I own amplifiers by all three brands mentioned in this video (different models, however).
Nope, not fun at all. Protect your ears!
@@MasterMarslander I instinctually grabbed the earphones and simply threw them out of my ears (I just HAPPENED to be wearing my most expensive earphones at the time!).
@@TheVeganVicar oof!
After six months, (I placed an order on December 23, 2023), I received my SS Tungsten on June 18th, 2024. I have been burning them in for about 80 hours as of this writing - and listening to them too. My chain: Gustard A26 DAC Burson Soloists 3XP with Supercharger 3A and the new V7 opamps. Balanced inputs and balanced outputs Other headphones I use on this setup: • Meze Empyrean, Hifiman HE1000 v2, DCA Aeon Closed X, AKG k702 (modified) (Austria edition) I have over 8,000 songs in FLAC format. • Jazz, soundtracks, classical, house, hip-hop, reggae, beatless, lounge, rock, world, R&B, et, et, pretty much everything except K-pop & country. Impressions: • Driving the Tungsten is not an issue with my setup. Of all the headphones I’ve tried, the Tungsten is the only pair I had to use high-gain. I’ve been comfortably listening at levels between 40 and 70 out of a max level of 99 on the Burson. Yes, this is a lot of power/voltage. • The sound is balanced and musical. Extremely enjoyable. They sound more realistic than any headphones I’ve heard -> am I listening to live music?? Details stand out. Bass is strong, clean, and impactful. Male and female voices come thru clean and are placed where they should be. Separation is great. Details shine. • Every genre sounds great. These are extremely enjoyable and comfortable to listen to. • I could not be more happy considering the value-to-performance and FUN the Tungsten (combined with the Burson and Gustard) offers. Update: 7/1/2024 After hours of listening, the Tungsten is, by FAR, a more enjoyable experience than I have ever heard. Enough said!
Fantastic! Very well said. Happy to hear you are enjoying them!
how is the audio leak?
They are by no means isolating, so there will be audio leak. The grado pads do help with that, though.
Thank you, was looking precisely for this comparison.
Glad I could provide!
the way you deliver your thoughts is very easy to digest. I bought my maxwell because of you and what you said is what I get. I was wondering if you will be reviewing the HIFIMAN sundara.... I have been recommending KZ Castor to my friends because its cheap and the audio quality is really good.
I would be more than happy to review the Sundara. As soon as it goes on sale, or one is sent to me, I'll do just that. Just not in the budget at the moment.
sony bought audeze AND dolby atmos is free to use now in the sound settings! just though people want to know if they think having atmos is a dealbreaker or not. so it is definetly on the ps5 atleast, just ordered my maxwell hope this helps you guys in someway.
It's the clearest sound explanation for a non audiophile like me. Subscribing!
Oh nice you managed to get that champagne colored faceplate in your FA-10. I wish that was still an option. The blue option was what I got. Was great. I wiah they wouldnt use metal switch toggles for the buttons. The FluxLab Volot has actual push-in buttons that you dont need to worry about them metal rods breaking in shipping.
My hip dac-3 went from intermittently not working in Tidal to never working after playing a MQA audio track. I have to power off/on or un-plug/plug and it works again. Found they have a FW to disable MQA and after that everything works great other than not using the native MQA decode on the DAC.
Yup. I had a short chat with Ifi after they saw this video and we tested a couple of outcomes. Bottom line - Tidal needs to get thier shit together.
I have a question Has it 8 channel audio ?
It supports 3d audio, but is not 8 channel. Not to get too into it, but no headphone can really be 8 channel. That would require 4 separate drivers per ear 😅 If what you're really asking is if it is an immersive headphone, then yes. Definitely.
Thank you for the review. I’m puzzled by your experience with the Sony though. I own them and to my ear they deliver smooth, clear, separate, delightful bass. My impression of the Mezes is that their bass is not as marked as you describe it. Interesting.
I do want to quickly point out that these were never intended to be reviews of the headphones, but just first impressions of them. I can't say with any amount of certainty the accuracy of what I experience with headphones until I have them on my own, at home, control test bench. There are so many factory that may be affecting my experiences out in the showrooms, who know if they are truly representative of the headphones. Maybe the Z1R had damaged drivers, maybe the source wasn't ideal for them, maybe they were just really old. I have since this trip got myself a set of Sony MDRs and I really enjoy them, so maybe my impression will change for the Z1R if I get the chance to play with them at home.
"These are too big for my head." I really want a reaction to the Abyss 1266 lol
😇 May God Bless You Always! 😇
Another reviewer offered VERY high praise for these!
Great sound but horrible design, especially the position of cable connector. On a heavier IEM it's quite important to use cable hook as support, cable on these provides no support whatsoever due to connector being a tad bit too high.
changing the earpads to a cooling memory foam variant is the BEST thing to do! Luckily I had the senneheiser GSP500/600 earcups before they were discontinued but Amazon has plenty of vendors that offer the same earpad. The STOCK EAR PADS on then open headphones are really bad!
shit im gonna get these you said theyre neutral perfect
Hope you enjoy them!
I like the sony mdr 7506 the best with that said which is the most similar open back headphone thats like those? speaking purely on how it sounds i dont care about earpds or anything else just the sound
"DVI looking port" ...Am I old? And that is why i know what that really is?
Do share! I need to learn this stuff.
@@MasterMarslander It is a serial port. It evolved into firewire, and then USB. It is still used today as it is extremely reliable, substantially easier to program for, and is resistant to interference at practical lengths. It is still relatively common on commercial networking and manufacturing devices. Especially since it can adapt direct into USB very easily.
@@admiralnorman fabulous 👌
Guys, this connector is even older than DVI. This is a COM-port or RS-232. On the other hand, the connection here is completely proprietary.
KOPH40 VS THE new ONES: Cl/2?
Do you prefer Rose or MP145?
Mp145 for sure, but they are also twice the price.
Merci pour la vidéo mais c'est dommage elle est pas sous-titrée en français. Alors je mets pas de pouce ni en haut ni en bas.
I am sorry that it does not translate for you. If you have any specific questions about the headphones I can try and answer them for you.
go very well with NICEHCK MixPP 6N OCC cable in 4.4mm BAL (MMCX)
They seem impressive! 😮
We never did get that review or update
You're absolutely right. Kind of fell on the wayside. If there's still interest I can try and knock out a review/impressions on them.
@@MasterMarslander I cant speak for everyone but Id personally def be interested in your opinion having had them for a decent period of time .
Unfortunately, the remote button of mine isn't working
I love the MP145, but I have one major issue. The vocal tips and the bass tips are absolutely impossible to put on over the filters. I’ve never had this issue on any other IEMs, and even the balanced tips barely fit! Any tips for how to put them on?
Oh my gosh, I feel you, bud. I also have a difficult time with it. My method is to sort of pinch the tip so it's more oval shaped and scoop the nozzle in from the bottom. Kind of hard to explain, but that's really the best I can give you.
they lack 2 most important features for me. 1. parametric EQ to fix some dumb decision meking in my IEM (thanks campfire, your incompetence will remain in history) 2nd. a pleasent relaxed sound.
I tried those pads. You lose volume and bass. And the detail is less prominent.
Yeah, you basically sacrifice a bit of intimacy in exchange for comfort and soundstage. If you can get a good seal though it should keep more to itself.
these are the most accurate sounding headphones I’ve ever tried. They sound like everything is perfectly balanced.
I need to know something, please. I get that XLR is not connected to the DSP. But can you please confirm if the DSP saves the profile on board? Like when you set a compressor in the bundled software then connect the microphone to a android phone, does it keep the setting?
The microphone does not save sound profiles to itself. Your sound profile would have to be saved on the software/device you are connecting it to, via phone or PC.
@@MasterMarslander thanks, it helped.
I much prefer this kinda of video over the overproduced cinematic stuff. I feel like this was just a person to person conversation about something we all love. And i definitely feel informed
I very much appreciate that. Thank you!
Jt1s in game with suroound are by far the most amazing thing i ever used. Directionery sounds iminging and hight effects are mind blowing i want the ft3s but im more interested in the 32 ohm version
How do these feel with glasses? I figure with yours you could offer a little insight.
I have no complaints. I took these to CanJam, so they were on my head for two solid days of listening and had no fatigue with glasses.
PentaConn. Pentagon is a shape and a government agency.
Fun fact, I somehow ended up here listening to comments about preassure on the head, cable too long etc. after watching a video about people who survive by eating from their local dump. What a contrast.
HA! Wow. Definitely shows my first world problems, doesn't it?
If you want to know what these headphones are all about listen to this Andreas Vollenweider Caverne magica. And there you have it it's magic for real :)
I have the original X1 (for 9 years now) still in good condition and haven't come across some other headphone that is playful engaging as the X1. I am sure there are headphones out there with better specs but for some unknown reason i always circle back to the X1. They are magic i tell you for real :)
Nice. Yeah man, X2s still live on my shelf too. The Fidelios just do something special.
