Kate Williams is extremely well known in the U.K. She is an academic and she presents history programmes in prime time on the BBC. In other words, very comfortable on camera with a personality that delights.

Seems pretty staged, the whole thing. Not saying it isn’t funny. I think she knew it was an act, though. I’m American, I’ve never heard of either of these women, and I knew it was satire about 10 seconds in. I’m also sort of Asperger’s-ey so I can easily fall for this. So I’m pretty sure the professor was just going along with the bit.
