Sharing all things Cunk - a fictional character from Charlie Brooker's Weekly Wipe, Cunk on Britain, Cunk on Shakespeare and Cunk on Earth - Portrayed by the incredible Diane Morgan.
This man is the purest embodiment of those beautiful "no matter how dumb you believe your question is, please ask it.. I promise it's more interesting and complex than you think" type of teachers
I love how he manages to take her absolutely ridiculous questions and still find some kind of academic angle for his response. 😂
“If I ever see Christ again he’s a dead man.” is a line I’ll take with me to my grave.
Every time she begins with "my mate Paul", I get super excited because I know we're in for something good
My favorite is, “my mate Paul once ate ketamine brownies and believed he could telepathically communicate with animals on the television.
My mate Paul, whose knows her mate Paul, thinks he's a dick
This guys voice is AMAZING 😮😂🎉.
Ditto, his voice is pure class!
It sounds like the king's advisor
exactly. i wonder what the vocalists technically call this type of voice
I think this man may be the closest to ever getting to see her to break character, I don't think she was ready for how ready he was
Her mate Paul has been through some sh!t.
I think I love her delivery, therefore I am grinning like an idiot.
Her question about how we know other people objectively exist actually makes sense, and I think Descartes addresses it.
Her dialogue wasn't written to be stupid, but to be funny yet accurate and thought provoking
1:06 "Peas" 🤣
Her gentle confirmation sent me to my grave
“The Curran”
“The Quran”
“So that one”. 😭
What gentleman the way he responds to her questions
I'd love to listen to this man lecture
Likewise
He has podcast lectures with Ralston College
I am sure he is showing his students this interview as exercise in thinking...❤
To this day, I still can't understand how we are supposed to believe that God is good after Jesus personally caused so much hurt to Paul. All the theologists in the world haven't even began to try and answer that question
He's not 😅 u ever read the old testament. All religions say their God is good it's how u keep support. Smh
Nevertheless , Paul did end up with a hit television program-
_Survivor_
Thank the Lord for that !
2:54 Riiiight... 😂😂😂
Prof. Hedley is very very patient...
In my lifetime
I hope
I get to high five
Philomena
She is amazing
💚💚💚
But King Arthur Came a lot
And he ate a lot of Soviet Onions
@@thevorace I think you're labouring under a misapprehension 😄
She is a genius
That voice 😍
"Why did Jesus do that to him?" I fucking lost it 🤣 🤣
He's got a cool voice
Professor’s voice made me miss Alan Rickman.
Have I?
You have indeed 🤓
0:23 you can see him trying his hardest to hold in his laughter.
I could listen to this man's voice until Philomena can pronounce Descartes correctly. ;)
Yes! I wish we had some bedtime stories read by him!
Yeah...
The question at 45 seconds is pretty deep, its kind of about doing things serially one at a time vs batching them up and pipelining them. Depends on if you want to do deep thoughts at maximum throughput or with minimum latency. Good job Cunk.
Well, that put -Rene- Jim Descartes in his place.
He's kind of giving off a Professor Snape vibe 😬🥹
ob...veee...us....leee ❤
Fabulous man
Serious questions. Serious answers.
He really struggled alot 😂
@@user-qd3fm8te8o but in a philosophical sense he might as well be responsible because the book itself says the "works are mysterious" and that by definition puts Paul's situation outside our realm of understanding
I could tell Philomena made him think a lot, therefore he am a lot.
1:47 made me chuckle
introjects: "pea's" lololol
Doug Hedley is a philosopher. If you don't believe it just listen to this man, this actial educator's, philosophic philosophising. Brilliant.
This man needs to start doing audiobooks hell pronto
Love this man's voice. Is it baritone? If there anyone here who's a sound/vocal expert please tell us what the texture of this man's voice is?
I think what you’re referring to is vocal range, not texture. In answer to your question, I’m pretty sure he’s a bass.
As far as the quality (we could even say texture) of his voice, it is very full and rich in part because it’s in a lower range. (That isn’t to say that higher male or female voices aren’t full or rich, but deep male voices are well known for those qualities.)
@@Michael-on3kuThanks a lot Michael
That "here we go, brace yourself" look at 0.24.
have i ? you did !!
How is she not cracking up at what she says?! lol
editing
“Peas”
HAHAHAHAHA
Just discover this brilliant woman through her Jesus video. Absolutely love her and will binge her videos. Can't wait for part 2 of Jesus.
"why not?..." :)))))))))))))))
this man should voice act in animation movies.
He is Prof. Sevres Snape ... 😮😮😮😮
The more and more u digest this the more u succumb to the wholesomeness of our present time, beauty through not satire but non genuine not giving a fuck but not really
this was a bit too deep for my liking :)
also "peas" sent me
Funny, Descartes does actually write about Cunk's "they are“ question. Either she actually read his work (!) or she reasons like Descartes (?!!) 😂
She just play mega dum, she clearly is a freaking super knowledgable genius comedian with a crazy wit and great acting skills and all the rest, and I am pretty sure it's all intended, studied and researched for hours to find the right angles to bring them to say want she want, to find the perfect puns, jokes etc, but she also improvise super well I bet.
Who else just started watching it? It's both super funny and disturbing
I am new to her but I am amazed by how good and hillarious she is.
Any artist I focus on becomes an investor
💎💎💎
The guy isn't quite right about "I think therefore I am"
Descartes postulated that if you systematically stripped beliefs about which there was any uncertainty, eventually you would only be left with the knowledge that the only thing you can be sure about is that you are thinking, which is therefore the characteristic that defines your experience and identity.
Ur much smarter than that doctor
@@ericmoore7127hes right tho.
@@lukereilly9844 Sort of, it's a good summary of Descartes' method. The professor points in the direction of the rest of epistemology, sidestepping @thevorace's (and Cunk's) solipsistic intuition.
Why does he say "Quaran"?
He’s correcting her pronunciation
at 2:17, i finally figured out why philomena is such a genius and eloquent lady, because she befriends individual like Paul, who would commit assault towards Jesus if he ever met Jesus in person. ahahah..........
why his voice kinda.. 🥴🥵
I don't know why folks think the prof was so amazing, he comes across as smarmy, smug, and conceited, and doesn't answer any questions. Typical theologian.
aw God, personalities like that guy make me nauseous
Why?
@@lukereilly9844personalities like that can be seen as pretentious or pompous or holier than thou, although I personally like his personality and think if that’s who you are or want to be that’s great
@@theera5145
Personalities like what??
Oxbridge, their natural habitat. I'd rather deal with him than chavs though
That public school posh accent coupled with the job title makes the man irrelevant.
That is right Philomena..that one.
