If I remember it right Bleem had a working PS1 Emulator for Dreamcast all the way back in the early 2000's so its not a surprise that a PS1 emulator can exist for it today.

Not in the literal sense, but the idea that it now exist is still there.
If the developer would be actively developing it, that would be termed as a new emulator. Aether SX2 was called a new emulator, while it was based on the code of PCSX2.

Raspberry Pi has been caught by the rest of the industry. The price to performance of the Pi boards are just not worth it anymore. If the price keeps going up they will fall off the map.
It was good while it lasted. Now though, pretty much any cheap N100 mini PC costs less and does more, with a lot less effort.
We need more performance with cheaper price. 🤔
There are already cheaper alternatives that are way more powerful out so this was probably to try and keep the company from going bankrupt.

The DOOM SNES source code includes "MODEM" code, not "MODERN" code. So code for networked games I would assume. Small misread, I know, but it's very cool that this source code is archived too.

Dreamcast did have a working PSX emulator back in the day, Bleem!, so it's proven that dreamcast was powerful enough to run PSX games.
You stated that bloom would "obviously require a modified Dreamcast". This is incorrect. Homebrew on the Dreamcast does not require any sort of modification and can be used direct off a disc.

Raspberry Pi going Public feels like the start of something bad
I think the damage started when they prioritized business over consumers, when the shortages hit.They say their mission is to give people the opportunity to get cheap devices for educational purposes. But in hindsight it feels they were chasing money.
The Raspberry Pi doesn't have copyright or trademark protection over the word "Pi" since it's literally a mathematical constant
But sky got copyrighted though...
@@Mr.scooter-le8yo Which was a bad faith trademark application by Sky against SkyKick that affected anything else using Sky in their name. The resulting case caused a narrowing of the definition of what can be turned into a trademark in the UK and EU
That case is still pending. I hope it doesn't go through. I remember when their was a company called stealth, sued the production company for the movie Stealth, circa like 2005. They weren't able to successfully do it, and the case was eventually thrown out. Also it's under trademark, not copyright.

It's NEVER a good thing for a company to go public except for the shareholders. It's the death of the Raspberry Pi. At least there are way better alternatives out for way less money already so no big loss.

In regard to the Apple/OpenAI thing: there is a pop-up in Siri if it can’t work out what you want. It’s opt-in by default.
Not sure if someone else chimed in on this yet, but many models of Dreamcast can run homebrew discs through the MIL-CD exploit. No modding required. Only later revisions were patched to block this.
However, most people these days who still use a real Dreamcast, likely care enough about it, to swap out the disc drive for an ODE anyways.
The uhhhhhh raspberry pi stock going public is a lil worrying. It’s like supposed to be open source and light weight how do they plan to make a profit?
Highly recommend trying red viper to anyone with a 3ds. Especially if you happen to be ancient like me and remember how VB games looked originally. 3D seems to be how they were meant to look but the tech wasn't there yet back then.

Hot take. The Capcom poll was bum rushed by enthusiasts who conspired to flood the it and rig the results. Strangely, I watched this exact thing go down when The Cranberries asked their fans to add one more song to their greatest hits album long ago. I actually saw the email threads back in the day in real time, which is why Daffodil Lament is featured on it to this day.

"Shareholders" is a funny way to say "goodbye". It is the point where a corporation stops making intelligent decisions and starts mindlessly growing toward profit like a plant grows toward light.
They all know this,but not sure why Raspberry Pi foundation headed there. The potential of failure can be high too.
I skipped the RPi and went for an Orange Pi 5, which is twice as powerful and can actually play most Wii/GameCube and PS2 games.

PS1 emulation on Dreamcast isn't new. There was an emulator called Bleem that was released for it back in the day. My guess is that's where the name of Bloom came from.

Hah! Anyone else remember the hype when Bleem was supposed to be coming out for the Dreamcast and promised to let you play dozens of PS1 games by inserting the Bleem disc first? I bought the Bleempack for Gran Turismo 2, but they were pulled off of store shelves before too long.
It would be awesome to see a remake and sequel to dino crisis. Very fun game.

Bloom doesn't even need a release to beat out WiiSX (PS1 emulator for Wii) because you can actually put real PS1 discs in your system and boot it up.
Also, this episode contains Pi. Lots of it.
the issue with the Mr Pi name is that the other's OrangePi etc. are direct competitors and alternatives to a raspi. This Mr Pi is not that, so that naming convetion makes no sense
