Terrie Hall is a hero to me. RIP you beautiful lady.

Aww I feel so horrible so please.... Bless this poor woman! Please give this video a thumbs up:) 😥😰
Congrats on quitting smoking for the new year! We are so glad to hear that Terrie’s story is motivating you to stay quit for good. We know the first few days are tough, but keep up the good work. Enjoy the benefits of being smoke-free for a happy, healthy 2013!
she was brave for doing these ads. these videos made me tear up
She battled cancer 4 13 years and eventually it killed her
im so proud of her for telling this story and being a positive role model for us all
Terrie, thank you for having the courage to share this. I hope that many will be saved from a life of cancer and respiratory disease by seeing what smoking has done to you. My grandfather died from emphysema. And my mother is slowly dieing from the same thing plus lung cancer. Now thanks to my ex-wife getting our daughter hooked on them, she is a habitual chain smoker. I will be forwarding these videos to her.
I made a new year's promise that I would quit smoking, I've been smoke free 3 days. And by watching this, I will be smoke free until I die.
R.I.P Terrie
Thank you for the positive feedback regarding the CDC Tips campaign. All of the illnesses depicted in our ads can and do result from smoking. This campaign aims to educate the public about the many adverse health conditions for which smoking is a contributing factor.
Eva Grayzel Terrie's dead now when she was 53 years old ;(
Nobody in my house smokes, but a long time ago, my Mom told me, when she was a little girl, one of my uncles (my mom’s oldest brother) smoked, and my mom wanted to try it, too. She told me she was gagging and choking for about a half hour, and she’s not touched a cigarette ever since. I’m so glad she hasn’t.
omg i feel so sorry for her :'(
As a melanoma survivor who is speaking about my own addiction to tanning beds, I understand Terrie's need to try to prevent others from going through what she has and applaud her and her strength. Keep up the good fight!!!
RIP Terrie!! You've helped many people quit smoking & been such an inspiration to people all around the world! Your such a fighter & now it's time rest! RIP
RIP Terrie Hall 53 years old September 16,2013 =(
+Kat Payne 53 is still really too young to die. :(
It hurts to listen to this.
Thank you for your courage, Terrie. My daughter and many of her friends do not smoke (I don't either); my mother has COPD and can't or won't quit. I wish you a long cancer-free life post-surgery. You inspire children like my teenager to not smoke and I cannot thank you enough.
Eileen Potocnak Arnold she died
CDC mourns the passing of Terrie Hall [the subject of this video]. Terrie, 53, died this past Monday, September 16, from the cancer she fought so bravely during the final 13 years of her life. Dawn Moose, MD, the Winston-Salem radiation oncologist who had taken care of Terrie since her first throat cancer, summarized Terrie’s struggle: “No one fought harder than Terrie with such a positive spirit. She saved more peoples’ lives from cancer than any doctor.”
RIP, Terrie.
Rest in PEACE Terrie
Terrie that was one effective commercial you made and there is no doubt in my mind that it caused somebody out there to quit smoking. Your pain will not be in vain.
I AM STILL WONDERING EHY PEOPLE SMOKE?
IT SAYS IN THE PACK IT KILLS YOU.
WHO PAYS MONEY TO DIE???
Its a strong addiction tht us smokers has got to break physical n emotionally. We can do it physically in 3-4 days. Its the psychological part we gotta get thru. I'm 52 and didn't know until 5 yrs ago how bad they really are for you. Yes I know I've been stupid in LST 2 yrs but now I'm getting serious. I hope tht helped u understand a tad more. Mayb if u got a loved one you can google some of this and fornately help them see the light
+ teresa chase (teasa) You are exactly right, and I wish you a lot of luck on quitting. You can do it, Teresa! I believe in you!
Stokedhavok thank you. Thts so kind. I'm trying my best. But I've already done damage
+Stokedhavok thank you so much
teresa chase
You are very welcome. I may not personally know you, but I am extremely proud of you for taking charge of your health. :D I also want to stress to you that there is no reason to think you were stupid, for the fact is you were merely uninformed. And before becoming informed on the harmful effects of smoking, you may very well have caused some damage; however, what's most important is you've made the decision to stop before further damage can be done. Keep doing your best, Teresa, and get support from family, friends, therapists, fellow smokers who are trying to stop, and x-smokers who have stopped. There are also smoking-cessation aids like patches, gum, or shots. How is your progress going so far?
My Mom is a smoker, I just recently went to my last resort and showed her this video. Please pray that she will quit! I have 2 older sister who will be off to collage soon and a 9 year old little brother. We can't afford to loose our, single, mother...
These commercials and the AT&T texting and driving commercials really make me pay attention the most and make me so sad!!! God bless you Terrie and I hope you live a long cancer free life!!!
I'm a post- laryngectomy patient Vanderbilt Hospital Nashville,tn operation/Saint Thomas west/radiation therapy treatment 35 day's/Meharry General Hospital chemo treatment Monday July 1st 2019 4th treatment. Don't Smoke Tobacco.
Terrie is so inspirational!
Oh my goodness. The fact that she's still alive shows how much of a fighter she is. This woman is an inspiration.
My cousin smokes. Good man good with kids kind and caring. I know all of us choose are path in this life.
Her story just shows how addictive cigarettes are. Smoking right up to the door, knowing the reason she was going there for surgery in the first place was because of cigarettes.
Anyone who hasn't started, don't do it. It'll be one of the biggest regrets of your life. Especially if you smoke long enough to become addicted to them.
There is no safe level of exposure to secondhand smoke. Secondhand smoke causes numerous health problems in infants and children, including severe asthma attacks, respiratory infections, ear infections, and sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS). Some of the health conditions caused in adults include heart disease and lung cancer. Most exposure to secondhand smoke occurs in homes and workplaces. Eliminating smoking in indoor spaces is the only way to fully protect nonsmokers from exposure.
Thank You for these commercials. I think they will really open some eyes to the awful truth of smoking cigarettes.
As many as 8.6 million people live with a smoking-related illness that greatly impacts their health and quality of life. Terrie shared her story to motivate others to quit smoking, or better yet to never start. If your mom is a smoker, it may be helpful for you to share this story with her and encourage her to quit for good. Free help to quit is available by calling 1-800-QUIT-NOW. She can also visit women.smokefree.gov.
We know it’s not easy to quit smoking and it can be frustrating, but don’t give up. If you would like free help to quit smoking, you can call 1-800-QUIT-NOW and speak to a trained cessation counselor. There are also resources available online at smokefree.gov. You can be smoke-free for good and live a healthier, happier life!
This is the main commercial that encouraged me even more to not smoke. That one commercial of her scared me so much to the point I had nightmares at night. They should keep dropping these commercials because it shows people the real consequences of smoking.
This woman is an inspiration.
I've never seen this come on my tv
her addiction got the best of her rip Terri
I've started smoking when I was 12 years old until I got caught several times not to smoke cigarettes and I tried quitting and then I was still smoking at 13and I quit after I had the palate expander braces I was wearing a retainer until my wisdom teeth pulled out and I couldn't smoke because the holes are about to heal and it has healed up and I was still smoking and I completely quit smoking 8 weeks ago and it has been 8 weeks without cigarettes with smoking free zones
She died 9/16/2013 of cancer. RIP Terrie Hall
everytime i see this vid i feel something in my stomach...
I promise I quite smoke 💨 I swear
tbh I could understand her and it is very sad to see her like this. people who smoke plz stop or at least try before its 2 late. if u dont smoke dont start because as u can tell it is hard for terrie. she can barely talk and I bet it is hard for to breath. so to all the haterz plz stop hating on her she is trying her best to stop smoking
im proud of this women, she is brave
I think this is one of the very few commercials that make me sad and pay attention :( Sooo sad
Is there any update on Terrie? Is she doing ok?
Rip terrie
The CDC Tips From Former Smokers ads were not designed to scare, but the goal is to show the true reality of smoking and motivate quit attempts before it’s too late. This campaign is based on strong science that repeatedly supports how hard-hitting ads help people quit and save lives.
I feel sorry for her
Every child should have to watch this. Hopefully it will scare them into never lighting a cigarette.
if i could i would give her all the attention she needs
she died RIP Terrie
It doesn't hurt, it's just really hard to breath.
Some of u some of u that have commented r still smoking. Shame 🤦♀️🤦♀️
I love how people say she is a role model . A role model is someone you are supposed to look up to and follow . Though her story is inspiring, she is not a role model .
i quit
Are there more or less people who smoke cigarettes than, say, when the cigarette was most popular? There are many more people in the US since then, but I feel like a lot of people still smoke. Are there numbers on this?
I can understand what you're saying. There are some people who tend to not get smoking related sickness or disease, etc. Just like there are some people who were somehow "immune" to large amounts of radiation. I just don't know how it really happens. but yes good job that you are not a smoker. (^^) it's best not to take the risk even though your family members were ok.
What about second hand smoke.
Terrie, I'd like to honor you and your survivorship on the page called Faces of Oral Cancer on the Six-Step Screening website. I would love if you would contact me. I'd like to help more people hear your story. Eva
geez......this woman it must be hard
You are infamous.
my mom quit after like 2 years
I been struggling to quit so bad I been praying to Jesus for help please pray for the lady in this video
She passed away 4 years ago
She died at age 53 she want you to quit listen to her
Well, it sure depressed me.
Some people say they smoke because they're stress.
oh no! Not this Commercial! SHIELD YOUR EYES KIDS!
Why isn't alcohol illegal? I've personally seen more lives ruined by heavy alcohol abuse than smoking....
There is nothing better than smoking while your playing golf......
GolfDay nothing better then getting cancer so fun
my grandfather died from lung cancer at the age of 33 and guess what?he never smoked a cigarette!it's all about luck so relax!
I wonder if it hurts to talk
Air purifiers work to reduce your exposure by about half in environments where you have no choice, but the other half has to be an effort to reduce people smoking around you. What gets me is why so many poor people do it, they can't afford it, long or short term!
OMg
I hope your trolling
If only she had electronic cigarettes.
She would've been so pretty if it hadn't been for her addiction :/
Eh, can this video stop polluting CZcams with its presence? I'm getting tired of seeing her on every video I watch....
Fake news
hearing her speak is so funny. :D
if your going to be mad reading this . i dont care, its fault. she did that to herself.. hahahaha :D
you disgust me
+kvla555 Yeah but she didn't mean to Stupid! >:(
